Really enjoying the demo,

Positives are...

Fouls
Physicality
Defending
Dribbling not OP
Catch-up bug gone
shooting variety
Passing variety

But PLEASE please please Konami, patch the goalkeepers so they come off their line, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Surely this can be fixed at some stage, it looks terrible running through 1 vs 1 and the keeper doesn't even come five yards away from the six yard box. I'm not asking for Karious/Neur/Ederson/Claudio Bravo - just simply keepers who close the angle and make finishing that bit tougher..

compared to 2018 I think the demo is better - but that could be because I am comparing the PES 2019 demo to the whole game of PES 2018.

If you put PES 2018's beta and PES 2019 demo side-by-side, I think they would have been both equally as good/fun to play.

but there are still generally 3 ways this can go
1. on the pitch demo play reverts to something worse than what he have presented in the demo
2. release version plays the same as demo, little else improves
3. release version similar/better than demo, new game modes, fixes across the board

to determine 1, I can wait a week
to determine 2, I can possibly wait a month or longer whilst people get to grips with ML/MyClub
to determine 3, I will get a good idea within 24/48hours of release and viewing your feedback here

I pray that its going to be 3.

Sorry what did I just play? Is this supposed to be the beautiful game in 2018? What the heck of Konami done in a year?

The ball is slow moving and bouncy, theres gaps all over the pitch because players don't intelligently track the play, the keeper animations - well half of them are still there from the last four years! yes the pitch is a bit better, but goodness me, wheres the error on passing, wheres the randomness? The A.I plays the same all the time. Cool Cool was back heel flicking it around my box.

This is not football. This is not sim football. Heck this isn't even entertainment. Its a monstrosity and finally, the final nail for me, I will no longer buy this product.

You can all kid yourselves by telling yourselves this is worthy of your money and how its all fresh and new but i'll give it two months before we are back to square one.

Absolutely dreadful and really disappointed after all the hype.
Totally agree, i might buy it when it s half price or even less just to have fun, this is definitely not the sim football we look for

I’m no longer a hardcore gamer. I only play every other day.
I got bored with the constant flicking between fifa and pes. I’d buy one, sell it, buy the other, sell it buy the first one back, sell it, buy the 2nd one back, sell it and do that for about 3 months.
Until I hated both fifa and pes but settled for fifa since pes10.
Got me so fed up I sold my console and didn’t have one for two years. Bought the kids a switch and went back to collecting vinyl.
This year I saw a great deal and on xbox1x and bought it.
The kids play it and as I said I’ll play it every so often. I’m still way into my music/vinyl to really worry about pes and fifa blowing me away.
What’s the point of this rather enjoyable little story I hear you say?
Well, I’m at the stage where if I play a game and I like it, great if not, I’m not fussed.
I don’t feel the need to have a fifa or pes that I’m going to lose myself in - I’m 43 - I’m not that 20 year old who played every Tuesday with 8 mates in a ISS round robin.
I just need something to play for half hour every other day. Pes19 I’m finding enjoyable and as I’m not a hard core gamer I’m not looking for flaws or issues.
I can name a few if seen (toe poke passes, back heels, bit clunky, AI issues) but as I don’t play a lot I’m not that fussed. It just a game. I used to be thinking about my master league team 24/7, do interviews in my head while walking down the road, but not anymore .
After years of going back and forth this year pes does a good enough job.
My son will buy fifa so I will get to see that as well.
I just like I’m now at a stage where I can just pick either game up , have half hour of fun and that’s enough for me - I’ll go and listen to a record after and rock out.
Thanks for listening

Started playing online on manual passing and shooting. It is SO GOOD and satisfying playing this way. every pass and shot earned not given and you feel huge satisfaction creating chances and not continually unsatisfied by cheap assisted goals scored and conceded. Just played 4 games v a Spanish guy, such a battle for every ball and any space to pass and create, real battles but so enjoyable, not laser guided passes so you get those loose balls, those real life midfield scraps and fouls

I'm similar to yourself though slightly younger at 38, I'm enjoying the PES 2019 demo even though like any game it has it's flaws, but they seemed to have fixed certain issues I had with PES 2018 which helps. I really hate the direction EA has taken FIFA as I feel it's far less fun than it was a few years back, I even played FIFA 18 at my mates last night and it doesn't hold a candle to PES 2019, so FIFA 19 will have to be something special.

I did have a Pro and an X but I hardly used the X so I sold it, I'm happy with just the one console these days.

even if it was possible to create a true SIM football game , in my opinion it's just not, who is going to make it? It may appeal to a very small minority but that's it. There are far too many interpretations on what a SIM football game would look like . PES 19 does a good job representing a football game and has the right amount of fun factor

Same here, i'm 36 but it's not the issue: i've played so many football games since Iss pro evolution that the only thing i need to find is a fun/with variety, balanced game, with some challenge on it. We all know, even if it's repeating the same line, that it's impossible to make a sim without compromise in 10 minutes game. It's upper hard.

There's not as much obvious flaws for me to really dislike this game...
For all PES version, the one i disliked the most was the 2016 version due to every shots was the same, goalkeepers were very bad, and shots overpowered in every ways.
But even the other "really enjoyed" all those PES from that era... Only "well, it's not that bad" and there always was something ennoying for me me in every game.

Now, balance is there, in pratically every departement, physics and animations are good, sometimes a bit clunky like some of you said. But it's the first time since PES 5 (even with 5 minutes games) that i want one more match... Until i realise that i've played more than 1 and a half hour. See the CPU running intensively to the Winger i was doing a long through ball and tackling with all he've got to cut the pass is a first for me: i've never seen this on a PES, or another football game. I found little things like this in every session.

It's all is about the global feeling when i play, and this game give me this. Good overall vibes in every departement (dribbling, building, shooting, defending, crossing, heading... etc.)
I like what they've done with PES 2019, i didn't expected a totally different game that PES 2018 which have already a good basis neither... Which a totally disagree, whatever people said.

One could say I have lowered my standards but being 37 now with 2 kids, job, a new house, supporting my local team etc, etc, etc I just can't bother with niggles in a football game anymore.

PES 2019 will be fine, it will be nowhere near perfect but it will be enough to make me get the some online matches every other night that in small/some parts will resemble the fun I had with friends playing PES on the couch with a couple of beers (now it's a IPA in a fancy glass when the kids are asleep...).

As PES fans we tend to be a little bit older. As such the mindset between in what we want out of a football game is the polar opposite to the younger gaming generation today.

We want a challenge, a learning curve, reward after hard work, and don't mind playing hours upon hours with ML original players (if we have the time) to get through the struggle to get to the good times. PES's of old had this in abundance. This was why we love the series!

The younger generation want instant gratification, and the ability to pick up and play.

Its a sign of where the times are going where there is now so much more distractions in this information age we live in and everything including games, phones etc are competing for our time. If something is not good enough then its simply a case of replacing it. There is no will (unless your big PES fans like us) to work hard and put time into something to learn it.

That is perhaps why Konami have diluted the experience into a pick up and play type game as this is where the market is at this current stage in time. If Konami had to focus on creating a game for people like us in this forum (which are a small part of the market) then the game would be very different.

Just some ramblings on a Saturday morning lol

I'm still thinking to buy it later when it will cost less and will be complete with all stadiums because this is not a game that deserves to be bought day one for me.

It should have been a revolution and a huge jump forward for me to buy it, as it is it's an improvement over Pes 2018, but that's it. The game is fun, has flaws, it's good but not enough to make me run and buy it as soon as possible, or even less preorder it. Besides the lack of real improvements to the AI and Master League is another reason. When they will show they care about offline gamers too i will buy it day one, until then, no.

Not shure I understand you correct here, but one of the little things in the demo that annoy me, is that you (at least I) can't make slide tackles when the ball is loose/between players. So if the ball is rolling on the ground you can't make a slide tackle to stop it or clear it before it reaches opponent player. Anybody else experienced this?

I hope it's just a small thing they'll hopefully fix for the full game as it is usually possible to do.

Otherwise I completely agree with your post and the good overall vibes:BAND:

Look at the pass difference! (argentinta(me) VS france (Cpu)) on professional level.
Total distance dribbled: ~400m Argentina (me) VS ~130 France (cpu)
I have 14 hours on the record playing PES 2019. The sad findings are:
-Cpu does not move with the ball, only passes the ball around
-Cpu shoots only from penalty area 9 out of 10 times
-Cpu spams low crosses, and backheel ground passes to the penalty spot
-Came to this situation many times : Cpu is free to enter small area and score a 1 on 1 situation, but it chooses to pass the ball back. Seems that KONAMI didn't coded player movement.

reading this last page... one tought:

ye olde PES guild comin' together! :)

and yes, i (38) cant wait to get home and play some more! i have that "one more match" (aka omm ;) ) feeling too these days...

:D have a nice weekend fellas!

edit: @lazoli @103SpooKy @PES94 @GranChaco @pacpes @vialli82
i created us our first sign (rough design)! :D could not resist! ;)

sure...but its kind of our "responsibility" as pes fans who have experienced GOOD games to make sure good things succeed and exploitative things don't.

when I was a kid I used to watch cartoons then you had the adverts. No doubt, I would think I wish I had that.

when a bit older i had a console, i was left to my own exploration of games.

then a bit older, i started playing the lottery hopeful of a massive win

MyClub/FUT are all the above presented in a game suitable for 3+ (!!!)

Its the modern day champ manager and lord know champ addiction screwed a lot of us over

devs are raking in coin but should also be putting in. improve the servers, send a message to kids that cheating is not tolerated, teach us that we can win through skill. that shouldnt be rewarded.

..........on the other hand, i guess not a lot of us have time to think/care about this. not much we can do anyway. it is what it is.

Pes and fifa are not aimed at the over 20s anymore. It’s all about the kids spending their money on Ultamate team and playing super fast football

I don't believe its anything to do with how long you have played, or even if its *sim* or not, I get it, the demographic is different these days. But it just doesn't feel like football. When I play it it should mirror what you see at the game or on TV only in a condensed format. But the physics, the player movement, the tactics, the computer AI, the speed they do not represent what football is and thats the problem. It completely breaks your immersion.

What I don't understand is, what does Konami actually work on? Theres nothing new here, damn I can't even see any real fixes. Keepers animations still have a roster of animations combed back from old versions, they still dive too slowly a lot of the time. The AI doesn't vary its play, they still shoot low, they don't shoot outside the box.

Fifa aint perfect either, but the fact you can alter the gameplay with sliders makes it bearable to a degree. Konami NEED to introduce these into the game if they are to survive and please a majority of the users.

Every year its the same and people do the same thing over and over. They see the footage and pick it apart and get hyped, they play the demo and for the most part decree its an improvement, then they buy the game jacked up and after a few months it all falls apart because the game has no built in sustainability. We love football because its never the same, goals are different, incidents are different, the randomness of the sport is compelling. Whilst you can't completely replicate that, we have very powerful systems that if the work was put in, could give the impression of that feeling. After all they did it many years ago on ps2, and thats not revisionism, it was a generally really enjoyable game that in part replicated the sport really well.

very disappointed that the fatigue system is just some bs
several videos on youtube showed that player can still run on full speed with empty stamina
apart from showing a scene that players look like they are tired and will be injured soon
there is nothing more about the fatigue system
konami shouldn't make a big statement on it, just so annoying everytime they hype it and then collapse
if you can't deliver then just shut up and you will disappoint less people

i think it would be good if we report to konami the AI "no-dribbling" and "no-shooting" bug. (trough Bhatti's twitter for example). We have data to prove something is totally wrong in their code. Hope they'll fix it but without adding some dumb script like : if...if..else..if...else but simulating some sort of "organic" way of attacking. Besides that i really think this game is great they put some great effort this time this have to be mentioned...

Konami NEED to introduce these into the game if they are to survive and please a majority of the users.

Here we go again with the "Pes is dead" idea. Konami is earning a lot from Pes and Myclub, why are you talking like they are desperate to do anything? With the low budget they develop the game they don't have the need to improve the game or they will die, that's not remotely true.

You should also read all the other general discussion forums, this demo has been loved by most. We are no more the target, accept that and you will then understand what do you want to do with Pes. We can ask for things to improve, give feedback, hope that they will do something, but it's not anymore a matter of surviving for Pes, hardcore gamers are not not even 10% of Pes total gamers.

Konami owes us hardcore gamers nothing anymore, considering most of the sales come from gamers 10-20 years old that didn't even touch Ps2 Pes once. Abandon this elitist point of view, it's only going to make things more and more frustrating.

Keep fighting for improvements but if you are not happy with the results just don't buy the game, it's the best decision to take in this situation. That way you won't feel like they stole your money.

Do you want sliders? Organize your feedback, make your voice loud, spread the word, i will sign it (even if i don't think sliders will solve issues), it's nice to have option to customize the game.

I play full manual, so I searched a game with similar assitance levels yesterday. I got matched with an opponent who had manual passing, possibly manual shooting but assisted through balls.

He was still able to create attacks and slice through my defence with one touch assisted through balls. Just having through balls assisted created a significant advantage in his favour. The assistance levels are far too accurate and easy to spam.

You can see if they have manual shooting too looking at the power bar, if it's yellow it's manual. About through balls, when you set passing assistance off they are manual, advanced through balls are not assisted either.

Hey, man you 're talking about PES. There is no such thing as "Assisted through pass"
In pes pass assistance is global, for every kind of pass. Are you sure you didn't play FIFA?

after all these years i came to the conclusion, that even with slider settings (and i'm sticking to the os sim sliders) the other game can't gimme what an "unslidered" PES can (knowing about the flaws)!!
anyway... sure, ill get both versions like every year and try them in detail! i just want a good (better) football game so bad...! :)

i saw that video of carlos too. i asked on twitter what happens if he does the second run at min. 90 not 44! no answer yet. and i want to know whats happening in 10-20 min matches. if the result is the same... it looks we're left with stumble animations while sprinting, visible injury (without going to much into detail, wich is sad) but no loss in speed when a player is tired/done. hm...
