PES 2019 Demo Impressions Thread

When the AI decides to make a short corner you can just follow the player and intercept the ball easily. Shouldn't be easy to just do that. Playing on top player. Please feedback this.
This has been my experience too.

Keepers, while functional, animate weirdly compared to the rest of the game. As mentioned, they are far too slow coming off the line also.

@Chuny I don't think that is the problem though- it's more when the player has the ball and is running at the goal that the GK doesn't close the angle down. They are 'ok' when balls are played outside the box like the one in your vid!

Keepers are indeed decent with through balls, the problem arise when an attacker has already the ball in the feet and run alone towards them.

Played a good few online games tonight with the Brazilian teams & Colo Colo. All I faced were France and Barca lol.
I have to admit I had some fun. When I slowed the play down I could play some really nice football around the high pressure sweat that was in every game. Similar to last years beta.
But that's still a problem - the online sweat fest you face game after game. It's so easy to do. I got pretty bored of constantly facing it so I had to stop lol.

My connection was fine for most of my games, but had the odd lag moment here and there. The gameplay crumples badly when that happens. It's pretty much unplayable for me even with the tiniest bit of lag.
Hope they sort it. Last years beta was great for online connection, but the full game turned to donkey shit. Same most likely for '19 I reckon.

Damn, it's been a long time since I've had that "one last game..." feeling about PES, but this year I'm feeling it again, feels fucking weird :D

Loving this demo, I've been playing against a friend via Parsec and having so much fun, really close games.

This is a definite purchase for me, just hope they don't go backwards like they normally do (too many times the demo has been awesome and the full game goes backwards!)

This demo feels good to play. I can't believe it's taken Konami 11 years to produce something this decent. It has the potential to be a really good game if Konami don't go backwards, like you say, and at least improve the AI.

I plan to have my fill of the demo but zero spurs signings with transfers across all the other teams actually makes the thought of PES 2018 Master League appealing. Although PES 2018 ML lost immersion transfer-wise in 2018, in an odd way PES 2018 ML's been fixed for 2018/19 season

They produced something good last year with the demo/beta I thought. For whatever reason, they decided to hold that version back.

Here are a series of short clips from little bits I thought were worth uploading.

I'm gonna make you regret that now! :D look!:

Good stuff!
BTW - Good colours and contrast in Messi's goal video. SweetFX/Reshade?

Some of you have mentioned KONAMI have improved crowd's reaction when team scores goal - yep, it sounds better, but WAAAAY TOO SHORT. Fans literally shout for 3 seconds and then is an immediate silence. Some stadium atmosphere aspects are improved, but not this one. There should be a kind of transition from the crowd's goal reaction into the chants imo. It's even worse than on PRO 18.

It seems most of you like the demo. I like it too but theres one thing I dont understand. This game is much much more end to end than 2018 and now its good? Ok, ball physics are better, there is some first touch errors, more fouls and graphics are marvelous but, its way too easy to find wingers wide open all the time. I dont get it.

Erm, haven't played much PES in recent years, so I don't know if this has been a feature in recent games, but I was just playing against Monaco and Falcoa was carded for diving in the box.:APPLAUD:

I suggested that on Twitter to Asim and Adam to get it fixed, no response though.

Have played around 15 matches against AI.
I like the pace and weight of the players, and weight of my pass(PA0).
There are some things I like and don't but can't figure out yet, what exactly.

The AI team is broken as usual. Didn't feel like they've earn their goals and if they do make mistakes, it feels fabricated.
I guess, it's just very difficult to make a believable AI. If you see a weird mistake in real football matches, it doesn't feel fabricated because we know it real.

That's not an excuse for the devs, they can at least improve it and make the situations of AI mistakes or attacks/passes/goals more believable. Their passes and trapping/one touch is perfect most of the time, that results in unrealistic looking sequences or goals.

If they can't make passing stats(other stats too) matter on human controlled players, there's more potential to making stats matter on AI controlled teams. They can change the way the COM controls the team. Right now, the COM controls the team like we do. They can control just one player at a time, and uses teammate runs/press and uses gameplan.

I'm not much of a VS COM guy. I only play exhibition/training offline.
I play a lot of online friendly against a cousin.
It's more fun when we play offline here than when we play online in friendly on PES2018. I think it will be the same case in PES2019.
I think one of the issue ONLINE that they can "easily fix" is the difficulty. They should change it to Superstar.
Playing against human on SUPERSTAR is a lot better than playing human on REGULAR.
We know how more stupid AI/players on regular. Defending is worse and players are more prone to make silly mistakes that results in cheap goals or chances.
That's why most of the matches online looks silly aside from assisted passes.

Game is awesome for good old couch playing with friends, but still no master league for me this year - its fifth(!!!!) year in a row when goalie doesnt come out when is getting rushed with a ball 1 on 1. Total immersion killer. I just cant comprehend why they cant fix it. Its not rocket science, you know.

I've actually had a bit more, almost one a game, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who still thinks there's a lack of AI fouls.
Fouls are there, it s an improvement on 18, if you get tackled it s a foul, it depend on how you play, i am very agressive when moving around and i change directions a lot drawing fouls

konami throwing too much cash at football legends. They need to put more of it into the game development side of things. A lot of what I have played in this demo just feels half-arsed and not quite good enough for a full price product.
And you will still get people on this forum defending this half arsed product which looks like a pes 2018.5....

I convinced myself I wasn't going to play a huge amount of games on this demo and I haven't been able to put it down yet... I hate to be one of those people who rags on about "full manual is the only way to play bla bla bla" because I think that every level of assistance and passing is there for a reason.

However, swapping over to manual passing and advanced shooting for the last two nights and playing maybe 15/20+ matches against a variety of friends online (all using manual passing) has been one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had on PES. Hell, even against the AI it's been incredible - scored this tidy little goal that is entirely possible because of the weight / direction you can get on a pass with full manual.
