Notice how not
every pass is first-time? And how they have to stop and look around the pitch to find a target, it's not just instant? And how the long, cross-field ball wasn't direct to feet?
Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a dog with a bone, but that clip is a million miles away from
@Ameppe's. His clip, every pass bar one is first-time and perfect.
There's no disrespect involved. The best team in the world would struggle to put that move together, with everything first-time and laser-accurate.
Of course, they are to entirely different situations. I was giving a general example of smaller teams can play nice football.
But i'm sticking to my point on Colo Colo's goal, I will not back down and i'm going to make a big point on this! Its only 10% AI boosting for me and 90% Ameppe terrible defending because every pass was very presentable for the AI! Even the backheel at the end, he had all day to set that up and so much space
It was a 5 on 3 and becuase especially the center back was nowhere basically no defender stood their ground or tried to anticipate how Colo Colo would attack which would had lead to one of Colo Colo's passes messing up or the most important thing which is making the AI having to keep the ball and 'think' of a pass! Every first time pass from a Colo Colo player was helped also by Ampee moving some else out of position until the goal happened.
I want to show you a breakdown here.
The problem begins with Jordi Alba is out of position as Colo Colo begin their attack.
Then here, Colo Colo use 'False 9' so the Striker Paredes has dragged Pique out of position, this is where Ameppe needs to react but..
As he completes the pass he continues to run forward into no mans land, Busquets is nowhere also and because Iniesta i can see is set to 'CM' (watch in the later stages in the video,he just runs back centrally) he has no awareness at all to track the fullback making a run absolute free as a bird on the flank, free as a bird with the DM with all the time in the world to find him.
Because Pique along with Busquets is nowhere by the time the pass has reached the fullback its not just 5 on 3 but Jordi Alba now starts the domino effect of players being pulled out of position to cover spaces left which allows a series very easy presentable passes in space for Colo Colo to score. Even here if he selected Alba to run back with his maker and just allow the Colo Colo fullback time to run while allowing his teammates time to get back instead of naively closing him down he would not have played the through ball.
The main point is that this could of all been prevented by simply moving Pique back and keeping with his man.
Here:
if he moved pique back and followed the strikers run after the the layoff.
After he passes to the fullback, Jordi Alba can easily close down the full back even without Iniesta having to do anything along with Piqu tacking the striker and Umtiti moving over to cover the other attacker. Colo Colo would not have played risky first time passes across here across the box becuase with all the players closed down well, he could of used Busquets to run back and add balance to the center making Colo Colo have to think about how to continue their attack.
Most importantly notice the difference between the 5 on 4 at 30 meters compared to 5 on 3 inside the 18 meter line with 3 players on 2 in the box!!!
This goal was very easily preventable with keeping the defensive shape, This is the most important factor to defending, this is the importance of tactics, its keeping your shape so you force the AI to do things the hard way. year after year people concede goals like this and blame the AI, but the AI is not at fault here at all, its just bad defending. There are some cases of cheating and AI faults but this is not one of them.
There nothing special as you see about Colo Colo's passing either, they had so, so much space and time.
