PES 2019 Demo Impressions Thread

Well, this here is actually misinformation, fake news. There is actually a huge difference between controlling Messi and a Colo Colo player. Anyone saying otherwise is only pushing their attitude to complain no matter what.

Sorry, but you can't say such things, it's like you are treating people that actually see a difference like idiots.

Dribbling wise yes. But passing its exactly the same

That's what I'm saying. The last PES demo we had (proper demo that was released before the full game was ready to play) was in 2013, I believe. I can't remember how long it took to have a tweaker released. I hope it won't take long in case of Pro 19 demo :)

I wonder whether KONAMI have found a solution against braking into game files to stop anyone from unlocking database content (teams) in the demo. Hopefully nobody gonna play with it again as it was the main reason why we didn't have demo on PC year after year since 2013.

as far as I remember, the simplest tweaker (match time, side selection etc) was ready 2 days after release

not that hard to defend against though. try 'swarm the box' if they use that, keep your shape and counter.

Some guy did that against me and had to change at half time.

Use your tactics man!!! Its the lifeblood of PES.

I have no issues with people doing this as long as you can counter it.

you're right and that's fair enough, but I have no real interest in playing that match that'll descend into a no midfield crapfest because some idiot thinks he's the new pep guardiola

my main gripe is vs the AI the game isnt aggressive enough there needs to be some feeling of resistance right now it feels like you going through the motions to create an attack

football is a game where you need to concentrate for 90 minutes where mistakes or lazy play is punished PES feels like friendly match that could be just a personal taste on my behalf but I like being frustrated and having to think how im going to create a chance or get hold of the ball and then try to keep it needing a good passer in midfield to bring it all together thats missing right now stats are not having enough effect

So the whole concept was entirely dependant on Evo Web input then according to Adams response?
I think its called polite dismissal.

.

No, of course not. I knew it wasn't up to US as a community nor me whether Sliders were going to be taken into consideration. But if more people had participated in it (and if they had understood that Sliders wouldn't hurt those who don't want to use it) I think he would have at least taken it more seriously.

Nice, tbh the matches are just too short for me to test tactics yet and also the game has really changed massively, i mean so much because of the physics enhancements i still need to learn more about the game.
Unfortunately the tactics are as rigid as last year. Default tactics do make the game looks bad

I think keepers don't come out because if they did, there would be a lot of chipped balls ending up in easy goals.
The way I see it, the only fix for that would be to make chipped balls a lot harder to perform OR increase the catching up from defenders (which is already there unfortunately, because it's unrealistic).

Goalkeepers need to come out. No question

Its like real life, goalkeepers have decisions to make the effect strikers decisions.

Good point.
PES always requires the player to learn the game each year and implement the tactics- so the 5 minute demo matches make even less sense.

Well, does PA1 override passings stats to 95% or not?

as long as konami has the "triangle rush out" feature implemented, they not gonna do something about it (not much, just fine tune), imo!
sure i wish the keeper would be more life like. but i only have minor probs with that, as i control my keeper manual a lot of times and even more, i let the keeper rush out a little with triangle! had some nice one on one saves...
its like manual. you need to get used to it. simple holding down the triangle button all the time is not gonna do it. hitting it too short (this is just bringing the animations out of order kinda) isnt right either. i can use it quiet good but it took me some time.
and even me, who is ok with this, sees a lot of wasted potentiol here. if konami would treat keepers as a separate intity... this would be awesome!
i like to have a mix of both or better all three aspects. keeper on its own acting more life like. offensive keeper leaving the pen area and coming off the line more often. and finally manual input via triangle or manual! put these three pillars together and were good in that regard.
easy said... right!? :D

has anyone looked at the file structure if its similar to pes 2018?

is modding going to take longer or is the game primary the same to be editing?

Don't get me wrong. Keepers in PES are GREAT (in my opinion, of course). There are some immersive animations.
It's just..... well, it happens just like the rest of the game: Something big is missing. Something important is missing.
Every area of PES you want to scrutinise and analyse has that very same problem. Either it's GOOD or GREAT but it's missing SOMETHING big in order to make it PERFECT.

Just played two games
Ok
To sum up PA1 in one image

Think you're probably correct. Thing is the keepers were super responsive on PES 5 & 6 and would come out at the first chance of a one on one but lobs were very difficult and extremely context sensitive on that game.

Could be the case.

But still I am able to like this demo, even with it´s flaws. No, it´s nothing like the older PES games. I´ve been playing PES sinds ISS on PSX. I even bought all the Winning Eleven parts, because I wanted to play the game a little earlier that way. WE was different from PES, I liked WE more, it was slower, but maybe that was my imagination hahaha.

For the record I don't really think it's about standards being too high or low, just different expectation levels and preferences, and that's okay. I'm happy for the people who are enjoying it (and hope it's not just the honeymoon period).

Out of interest...

Do we think there's a split between people who want that classic PES gameplay (which this demo delivers to a degree, and I totally understand why people love it) - and people who are maybe hoping the gameplay would have evolved into something more "serious", more "simulatory" at this point in time?

I'm not sure, but personally when I say I want something on par with older PES games I don't mean PES 6 remastered, I mean something on par *in the context of what is possible in 2018*. So I would be more in the camp of wanting it to have evolved into something more serious. But I'm actually quite tolerant of arcadey elements if the offline experience is challenging and rewarding, and I'm doubtful based on what you've said that the AI in its current form can offer that.

Which is how it should be. With ever aspect its dumbed down which kills other elements.

You lost me when you said "small difference from 2018 to 2017", honestly. You can't be serious.
PS: not saying 2018 is perfect at all, I may debate the opposite. But huge difference from 2017, in almost everything.

and ironically,.pes 2017 is better despite itd faster.pace

how about moving GK during freekicks? Is it possible to move him using pressed Triangle button?

This!

Please someone explain that to me. In PES 2017 you could move the keeper by holding down triangle.
It doesn´t work since PES 2018...they changed something.

Why did they do that, in the first place??

Mate, unless I misunderstood you, the triangle rush out feature was there since the dawn of Psx era tho.. and yet in the past keepers used to come out from the goal line on their own..

I know that human vs human isn't as big of a deal, but against the cpu it makes scoring so cheap in one v one situations! If they don't want to make it based on keepers characteristics, they should just program it differently for the two experiences.

L1 + R3 (press the right analog stick) gives you control over the keeper.

Human vs Human it has never been a problem. If you want to let the GK come out and you were too late, it was your own fault. The CPU did let the GK come out more often in the PS2 era, but... I scored a million times against the CPU that way. Yes, it was harder to perform a lob back then, but I was very skilled at it. In PES4 you could really master it, the lob. The GK made one step forward and you could score an easy goal by lob the ball.

That's a shame, I have the same issue with all the camera angles being too zoomed in. If you want it zoomed out more you need a magnifying glass to play with Blimp cam. This kind of stuff in addition to the useless replay camera angles is unacceptable, they aren't evolving the game in these areas at all. What are all those extra developers they hired doing? It's so frustrating.

Or it could be that some people have ridiculously low standards? I just want something on par with the older PES games.

I think nostalgia has taken over for some. I've played PES 2-6 intensively and without a doubt those we're great games at that time. That being said none of them were perfect either.
