Scripting is still present. Midfield players ping pong pass then lob trough ball to the wing and winger pass to the striker then he dribble straight to my defender and my defender stood there doing nothing eventhough im controlling him. The striker bypass my defender like a magic then shoot and hit the post.
There was nothing i could do to prevent the scripting. Was on superstar difficulty

Well, after playing last night it's safe to say that, rather unsurprisingly, PA1 is neither "free as a bird" or is it "borderline manual". No change at all for me; still can't play it into space and still chooses the wrong pass despite input from time to time. Also feel that crosses feel a little OP and unnatural still.

That said, I have to say I enjoyed it a lot despite those issues. Perhaps it's that initial enjoyment that will die down once the issues become impossible to ignore, a la PES 2018, but right now I feel that there are improvements that have been made.

Perhaps you should give manual .go, sounds like that is what you are.looking for?

Wish people would get over PA1, I played both last year manual and PA1 and PA1 feels less assisted in this.

Anyway just had a game before work top player , pa1 advanced shooting. Absolutely top notch game , had 3 fouls which is ok in a 5 minute game. I find R3 helps we win fouls. An injury which was nice and never felt there was too much space.
Really liking this so far

How on earth do Konami expect you to get a feel of the games by giving us 2.5 minute halfs?
Was really hoping to be impressed but I can’t get into the demo as the games are too short. As soon as the game gets in flow it’s half time. Then, full time.

They really need to tone down attacking wing backs tactic. Twice from Ko my full back have gone sprinting up the field (despite me not having ko) leaving huge gaps that the AI exploited and score from. That’s fine if we are on theattack but not from straight from ko.

Il give thedemo another go later but I really can’t see how Konami expect me to judge if I want it by giving us crappy 5 min matches.

I’d rather a 4 team demo and 10 min games.

I'll definitely be giving a go; I played manual on PES for many a year but I ended up playing FIFA more for thr last few years and got used to having passing assistance on (with sliders to reduce speed and accuracy). Manual is definitely rewarding once you get to grips with it.

Is this for every team you use? Have you checked tactics and changed them?

One online match played with PA1. So, it's pretty clear that it's a bit less assisted than on 2018 but it's still to assisted as many already has pointed out.

The thing is, I played a quite crappy opponent with Sao Paulo and he was Liverpool and he could pass his way through me with ease so when you are gonna come up against better players (with good teams) i's gonna be the same old story. The classic ping- pong fest.

So, another year of manual passing then, interesting to hear people saying it seem to have stats matter (last year manual wasn't really FULLY manual).

What's advanced shooting like this year? I could never quite get onto it

I thinks stats do somewhat come into play on fully manual where it's easier to ping a pass with pace and finesse with players like iniesta whereas players with worse passing stats passes tend to be less so.

did anyone play it in 4K and HDR on a ps4 pro? I cannot test it, because i am on vacation, but like to now if it runs still 60fps in 4K HDR on....

played the game, played 3 games and the same underlying issues are still present, only thing that did impress me were the variety of shots and lil more misplaced passes other than that everything else feels like 2018 . makes sense why they brang the game out earlier this time cos i dont see the effort they put into gameplay, waiting for pes 2020 news

aha... you optimist.

Feels good - has felt since PES 2017 to be fair. There's a bit more of a chance of missing the target on PES 19 with advanced shooting that I've noticed so far from the games I've played - usually advanced shooting meant you could work the keeper on most occasions but I've had chances like this:

And then been able to score really nicely placed finishes like this:

Shooting feels nice though.

I'm enjoying the demo a lot - agree with others that 5 minutes feels too short to get a proper feeling for it but it's been a welcome improvement to a lot of areas from PES 18. I think for my own sanity I'll probably try to avoid this thread though, some people really only love to focus on the negatives. It's a lot easier to be negative about something than it is to be positive - the demo has been fun, I'm sure the full game will provide me with more than enough entertainment for a year for £40.

i think Konami doesn't do their self justice having a demo. my o my this games complete rubbish. i just see bad development and outdated software. game play and broadcast camera are shit. it's like the ball and players aren't in sink, just doesn't look right. very simplistic design with 2d turf in 2019, of course no commentary and menus from the 80's. they've even implemented fifa control settings hoping for a few extra nuggets.

5 min halfs was a relieve, i couldn't take it anymore.
all this demo did, was make me look more forward to the fifa demo.

this game is close to being the worst major sports title out there with NBA live....

Having played online only I really like the feel of the pace and passing. The graphical leap is really good and about time.

But still the keepers inside the box when confronted with a one on one or shot may as well not be there. I only play online so already and not to be doom merchant is gonna be the same ping pong fest we have had for years with Pes.

At the moment I am gonna have to try and garner something offline to peak my interest.

Defo a step in the right direction but with the same issues around the box not fixed despite years of feedback gonna be a long few weeks till release

An improvement on 2018 and it is silky smooth. Still has some of the same issues as others have said. Very arcadey, shallow and mechanical. Press cross button, quickly tapped shoot twice, without taking much notice, and my player perfectly chests the ball down and volleys home a rasper. No skill, no concentration needed whatsoever. This is going to get boring and repetitive pretty quickly I think.

Then play differently ..

Whilst the chipped through balls of last year appear to be few & far between, the A.i's new weapon seems to be low whipped crosses in to the box & a tap in.

This is my biggest complaint with the demo more than anything, why did they go with this match length after giving us 10 min demos for the last 3 years?

One thing which is difficult to understand is the dichotomy of difference of opinion on the game where we have all the criticism on the forum in comparison to the video attached above where its essentially proclaimed the greatest thing since sliced bread.
