PES 2018 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

I posted a while back Oct 27, 2017#8 that simply asking for more fouls would not suffice, clearly Konami had no tangible feedback or clue where to go with it,except from everyone saying "more fouls".
They are more than capable of going from sublime to ridiculous.
Its clearly a case of be careful what you wish for,or be more specific, or even actually give proper feedback.

What would "proper feedback" be like? Can you give me an example?.

I was talking about a tweet specifically about the foul issue and not this one.

OK then, sorry.

I had 7 (post-patch) games in master league(EPL with ManCity) yesterday and i noticed various changes(impovements)
1. Pass switching seems to be better
2. I use PA0, which now seems to be little bit assisted but at a level which is perfect atm.
3. AI attacking variation, with nice finishing (in 7 matches not even one cheap goal, either way)
4. Less pass accuracy from CPU
5. Smarter defending from CPU
6. Better animations and reactions from keepers
7. Better passing and shooting trajectory
8. I got more fouls than pre-patch
9. Not many backheels compared to pre-patch
10. I also noticed that shielding is more occurent (especially with player like Cavani being a masterpiece on this)
11. More responsive players in matter of shooting, passing and running
12. It seems to a bit fast(not game-breaker though) compared to pre-patch ( i am not sure, i will further test in weekend)

Overall, i am sure that patch gave a material improvement to whole game experience, which for me at least is almost perfect. I am not able to play daily PES, so i haven't gotten tired of it yet, but objectively the latest patch pushed the game to better.

p.s. i will try to use PES 2017 unlocking patch for Legends(Mantis's version again) and i will let you know. I am curious to see what will happen.

Chuny,
1, a poll voting for quantity of fouls, say 1 to 4, 4 to 8, 8 to 12.
2, Then sent that to Konami team in a proper manner. Not one that immediately rubs someone up the wrong way.

We have numerous posts saying we need more fouls, game is broken I am out etc where its just barking at the moon with discontent.

That is why we opened this section is an attempt to structure better. https://www.evo-web.co.uk/categories/feedback-forum.305/ , also hoping that Konami could take some decent feedback from it.

A little offtopic as this is related more to the PC version, but I know many of us in this thread play PES on PC (I still think both threads should be just one).

If Juce ever decides to jumpstart things with PES 2018 and Nesa was a liiittle less busy, maybe we could have Sider+LiveCPK+Modules again like last year and one of those modules could be to treat all teams as rivals. You know that derbies in PES actually do have a lot more fouls, AI is a lot more aggressive... so if we could make force the game to treat EVERY TEAM VS EVERY TEAM maybe we could fix what Konami seems to be struggling so much with.

ten seconds of laughter

Kilay do you know if its possible to activate Advanced instructions in attack for CPU team by hex editing the .ted files? Im aware only a few AI teams use them just wondering if its something we can alter or if its hardcoded elsewhere

I could create a poll, I have no problem doing it .

But the problem is, they don't listen. They claim the listen to the fans, but they don't.

I've seen numerous tweets TO Adam and OfficialPES with videos showing actions in which you get tackled down aggressively and yet the ref won't blow. I've seen many screenshots also tweeted to them, where they were shown 0 free-kicks in different matches.

They either don't reply or they find excuses such as difficulty you're playing on, match length, how you play the game (this one is the most funny).

Don't get me wrong, I said this before in the past days: FIFA suffers from the same disease. So it seems it may not be as easy as we think to get a fair amount of fouls peer game in every match. I think developers are focusing so much on making each game so responsive, fluid, with a nice rhythm, nice flow, nice pace that they don't want to break it with fouls. They sacrifice AI aggresiveness and bad timed tackles in favour of all those things.

But I'm not a developer, so what do I know.

Yes but remember that derbies are more scripted and IA behaviors is every time RED/RED (more frantic), probably we can just put RED behavior in defence and that increase the aggressivity of the IA, but leave also more space...

Would seem the logical thing to do yes.

I wish I knew about programming and hexediting. Maybe there's a way of knowing what changed for the EXE pre-patch and post-patch and work around that.

maybe @yair25 could help us (of course on PC sorry for the OT) ?

Agree with everything. Im experience a titally different game to the better.

Many people say there are less fouls after patch....definitly not on my game. They havent increased it A LOT, but defenitly better. Almost get a free kick with opportunity to shoot every geme, that didnt happen before.

Before the patch there was situations that should be free kick but u knew it wouldnt be because the game wasnt coded like that. Now u dont always get free kick but just the case that there is a duel between players and u not sure if the ref will call it makes it more intresting

They should just make the current manual passing the default setting. STOP THIS PA NONSENSE!

Why would they remove Pass Assistance?. It doesn't hurt to have it as an option for those who need it.
Plus, we've got PA levels since we were kids, why remove it now?.

You do realize not everyone has the time or will to learn who to play with manual passing? It's a steep learning curve and you can get frustrated very often. You might even want to tear your controller apart.

So I decided to play this after a while when hearing about the patch.

Same old no foul matches! Same old CPU either making the PERFECT Tackle whenever they get anywhere NEAR you (Superstar Difficulty) or... they actually DO Bundle you over or trip you up or obstruct you and get FUCK all given against them! I am done with this shit! Excuses keep getting made by certain people (not on this forum) and people say "This will be looked into and patched in a couple of months" whilst puffing on their shisha pipe and laughing at us who give constructive feedback about the FUNDAMENTAL issues that the game STILL has!

*rant over. Sorry to do that. Back to work!

That's not what I meant, that PA should be removed, just that the current manual passing (post- patch) should be PA1, which would be the default setting, which most people just picking up the game would choose to use.

The current manual passing isn't completely manual though, which I think should be PA1. Online as it is now is a mess if you can't find people playing manual imo.

I play NHL and they have the same passing assistance (a less assisted one) for all competitive online play and people adapt though and the game isn't "hard", it just makes you try to play more realistic.

When was PA introduced in PES? I can't remember having that choice when I played as a kid (PES 2-6).

Had a test run with an ML, played a derby match and was beaten 6-1 on top player but no fouls in the match .. .a hell of a lot of goals going in and I noticed two things .. .if your defense is above 4 the Ai finds it easy to get behind you plus the players didn't become fatigued until after the 80th minute. . . .all this could differ from match to match I suppose .. the game is still very playable though.

zero fouls in a derby, thats worrying, dont like that

This means we need to keep pushing Konami. Keep tweeting, keep mailing them.
I did so yesterday night.

We can't allow them to say "we fixed this" when they didn't do shit about it.

I understand what you're saying but wouldn't it be also unrealistic to have 10-12 fouls in a 10-15 min game? That would mean that every 1 min there would be a foul and would break the flow of the game and players would look like ninjas. It's very difficult to sim a 90 min match in so little time that's why there is this foul issue but i think 5-6 fouls in a 15 min game is fair enough. It also depends on how you play to win them,if you keep the ball and try personal attempts or if you constantly passing then how you expect to win fouls?

Who said they must be always 10-12 fouls (which isn't even that much if you are talking for both team summed)? Sometimes it could be this number, sometimes less. What's wrong with it being random? Why must it be a fixed number?

It's way less than 5-6 fouls btw, as others are saying. Me personally, I had like 2-3 fouls in the last 5 games TOTALLY. And since the patch came out, I've done nothing but picking up teams with superstars and searching for the one v one and physical contacts, so I really do have a hard time believing it's a playstyle problem.

Well, I fired up the patch yesterday.... for me the only thing I really saw was the cursor change has been fixed. I haven't seen a backheel in a while in a live game, yet the AI chained 2 to get behind my line. A couple of games I had zero fouls, then in a cup the AI were pretty aggressive and got called around 3. I even checked the stadiums to see if the Emirates was there because I thought the patch hadn't yet applied to me... DO I need to restart my league to see more effects of this patch?

The games I played weren't bad (hadn't played for almost a month), but my problem was I couldn't wait for the games to be over... I def don't feel the "lets play one more game"...

DO I need to restart my league to see more effects of this patch?
A few of us have done that and are seeing the same things you describe - gameplay changes are there using an old save or a new one.

There's definitely some tweaks but as you say, the problems are all still there (in my experience at least, I know some are loving it).

So there's a patch?
Been off grid way to long.
Hopefully it'll sort a few issues out.
There's something about both Pes and FIFA that has had me not playing either of them
Can't really put my finger on it, hopefully I'll get that magic back with this patch.

Forgot to post my video here. It's my initial thoughts and some of the things I had seen before that were affecting the game, and where some areas are improved, and some aren't. Overall, I think it's a step in the right direction as a base. I hope they can build off of it further. Btw, news that Adam is moving to Japan has to be a positive thing, right?

stats about a coach match superstar 13 mins, at video thread you can found the video of the whole match
I've also got a penalty

Watched it the other day and I said to myself if Matt is positive about it then it has to be good. . .it is until I realised the fouls were decreased .. ..I initially thought they did it out of spite because of all the negativity. . I'm lost for words.
