PES 2018 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

OOOOOKAAAAAAY, so I played one game as my beloved Liverpool. I played it on professional and normal controls against Colo Colo. I purposely play the first match this way to test new features that I may of missed being spoken about.

Purposely passing with full power to close players ect..

Shooting still feels abit weird, missing what i should be hitting the target with and vice versa... however i did score a lovely sliced looping volley from inside the box that just looped over the keeper though he was slightly beaten by it being to far to the side.

Dribbling Mané, Firmino and Lallana are three very different dribblers... pure speed with Mané a bit of strength with Bobby and pure silk with Lallana. So dribbling with different types of players seems evident from my first game.

Love the tackling but not the lack of fouls.

I will be playing more later, as i want to see what playing with a poacher feels like so Inter with Icardi up top will be my choice.

So many complaints, year after year... PES 2015 was a more than decent game, pretty good I dare say (and still my favourite). It completely blew that year's FIFA out of the water for me.
Still, it received lots of criticism (not only here) for this, that, whatever...

It's been already said but it's worth remembering: NO game will ever satisfy us 100%. What feels/looks good to me may upset you... But just because you (a generic you, not talking about the real "you") don't like it, this doesn't automatically make the game shit for everybody else.

we are not saying that the game is shit, but primary aspects of the game need to be reworked as u can see so many people giving bad feedback about the demo, its not just us, me and shez and bondjamesbond we have the same ideas about what needs to be fixed, and all the feedback is coming for the shooting mechanics and fouls and other fondamentals we feel its a must to be fixed otherwise every year we are gonna have pes 2017.5 or 2017.6.....that s all

I think being optimistic means "i enjoy the game" but there are some issues they should fix to make it better.

I'm optimistic about the game, but i already tweeted Adam about the lack of CPU aggressiveness and even sent him a video that he acknowledged. Talked with him on twitter about fouls and how few they were even in beta. Even Adam himself yesterday on twitter said that he thinks fouls are an issue

but you know he has no power on development. The best he can do is report to the team.

I wish people would be more mature: if you feel frustrating seeing the same issues year after year and you think you are done with the game there is no need stressing the same argument over and over.

i wish ur reports to adam and his to the team can fix th stuff , but that's only hope, i would be delighted if these things are fixed, then the game is a keeper for sure.

I like Pes,loved 15,more now than then,16 came out ok after the last patch,17 has been and still are very enjoyable.
Don't need to go all out "rain man" over positioning and how the radar looks to enjoy a sports game.

Haven't played an all out sim game for any team sports yet, probably won't either.

Probably why because konami want to 'FIFA' the game now with more emphasis on attack....it's more end to end not lots of midfield play

we don't want FIFA we want pes. I sometimes by fifa as well but that's for online only

I will have no single player football game again this year think it time to accept that football gaming has passed me by the days of 1999-2004 are not coming back.
 
I've never seen so much fighing over a PES iteration in all these years of Evo-Web. It's like this game represents LIFE itself..

We all want the PERFECT game... but this is impossible lads... we must accept the fact that some really enjoy it and some don't. We're humans, we all have different tastes when comes to food, woman... even games and they way games should be played.

Thus... calm your tits and end this storm already, really.
 
I dont inderstand some people here. All the time people said about animations, animations and animations for years. Guys in Pes 2018 are superb animations and the best in any football game. Ball physics and physics between players are awesome too. Player models looks lovely too. The whole graphics in particular day lighting looks brillant. This game in graphics aspects is in the same level like other game on Forsbite. Physics of the nets looks really nice. Small things like scoreboards, presentation/statistics during the match all this stuff are nice. The pace is good too. They made huge step forward. You expect perfect game but its not possible to create. I didnt thougt but Pes 2018 is in the same technically level than Forsbite.
 
So how different is the demo from
beta version? I loved Beta ? And please lets not have placebo effect

Sorry I meant more about the ball to net interaction.

Watching the difference between PES 2018 and PES 2015 is that the nets are thinner, not as gray, and there less of a bulge when the ball hits.

In PES 2018, I feel it's too gray, too thick threading and the ball strikes with such a bulge that it just doesn't look right.

It's not necessarily a nets thing alone, it's more so that the combination of the ball and the net...the ball gets lost. It disappears into the netting, then all of a sudden there is this bulge. I think this is what was much different. From when that ball enters past the posts, it becomes camouflaged.

No one is demanding the perfect game, just for the problems from 2-3 years ago to be sorted.
 
I think the best way to judge a game is to ignore known complainers, avoid them at all costs - download the Demo and try it for yourself then make a judgement. I remember when Beta came out alot of ya'll didn't like it including myself but after giving it some time game felt great. I'm sure PES 18 is good but some people are never satisfied not only with games but in life in general!

Lol, honestly bro I've been working my ass off and hitting the gym daily. Haven't touched PES Beta 2-3 days before it was going to expire. What do you think of the demo ? Is it worse than BETA or some of these dudes need a fat blunt

The problem is people focus too much on

Sorry. We need to have thicker skin, or be smarter and know how to FILTER THE MESSAGE.

Person A: "I absolutely hate this crap defending, what is KONAMI thinking, why are they just letting me run through the defense!??"

Interpretation: "CPU defending needs work...."

Person B: "OMG, Adam doesn't know what he's doing. He promoted Mbappe's face and he's missing a pimple on his right eye!!"

Interpretation: "Mbappe's face is missing a pimple on his right eye."

Person C: "Seriously, the shooting is f**** up!! I just hit a screamer from 40 yards out with Smalling!"

Interpretation: "I can either ask a question on whether or not Smalling was under pressure....or I can just jot down that maybe need to look at Smalling's ratings....or video proof :) "

Instead, there is this drive to complain about people complaining. Filter the message, and move on. It's not hard.
 
Anyone else finding they are scoring a lot of headed crosses?

Don't get me started on the lack of AI fouls.

I want to love it and cling on to my PES nostalgia of old, but its just not happening for me at the moment.

not being pedantic serious questions do you think konami will address this? I don't. They knew about it last year.

they know a lot of their playerbase are happy with simple automated goals where the cpu does most the work for you.

Time surely won´t help if you completely dislike several basic things.

But for the people playing it, waiting for the WOW-effect, like me, time certainly is a key.

Is shooting really that bad? I mean....I miss being able to do low hard shots with square + triangle.
And I find advanced shooting awful - kudos to those who learned to master that.

But I don´t think that it´s so extremely whack...
 
I actually had a couple of decent games on -1 speed using the south American teams on superstar, as soon I went to play as Argentina I scored two goals with Higuain, one with his right foot, one with his left, both at the same missile speed low into the corners and it felt wrong, its such a shame as it does sometimes look like its a great game but the most important part like creating chances and scoring goals feels so automated and allowed it just sucks the fun out the game.

According to the 2017 database which probably won´t differ so much from 2018 he got a kicking power of 90....so....he can shoot rockets ;)
Weak foot though, shouldn´t be that hard....usage 2, accuracy 4.....

What does that actually mean? He won´t use it so often? But when then it´s accurate? I don´t get it
 
I'll go right ahead and admit it. All the debating, the fighting, the argumentative talks, all the hoopla, is kind of addictive.
God knows how many times I thought about giving up and don't get in this part of the forum anymore. Just focus on the good stuff these boards have to offer and let the rest go. Wait until the game comes out and we can go back to editing it, let this sections die, which is what always happen after October-November until May-June.

But there is indeed something addictive about trying to be heard, or getting your points accross, or even trying to prove someone wrong. If you stopped for a minute and think to yourselves 'why am I here writing all this good or bad with people I don't even know' it all stops making sense and even this very message it actually in vain.

Whether you love the game, hate the game, or you are somewhere in the middle, you won't get your mind changed just by reading what other people think or fighting someone who you don't like. You will move on with your life and keep feeling/thinking whatever you are going to feel/think. So this is all just a waste of time. We aren't trying to change our minds. We are actually trying to change someone else's. But WHY?.

I will try very hard to keep my word: This is my last message on this Thread, at least until the storm is over.
I'm not even going to play the game on PS4 or XBOX, but on PC. So I don't even belong in here, and the PC thread is a lot better and cleaner anyways, so.

Yeah you are right on those improvements you mention. But that doesn't mean that you have a great game when they spoil or not fixing some other areas.

Such:
1. Shooting variation
2. Passing variation and errors
3. Bad player position
4. Net physics is far from great

Btw all 4 above was great in PES 2011 i tried yesterday. But was worse all the other elements you mention for PES 2018. Why can't we have all correct, in one game?

Yes the shooting ruins an otherwise extremely good game...

I can put up with no fouls and lack of stadiums, dated menus boring crowd chants...but scoring goals should feel satisfying and in this demo, in my opinion, it doesn't and it's an immersion breaker.

It's last time I mention shooting because plenty of other people will mention it and also lots of people will love this demo and good for you I am envious

But I think pes has run its course unless they [konami] listen to us and do something about this damn auto shooting and empty feeling when scoring.

I seem to be in the minority but i've never had problems with fouls... penalties on the other hand...

Considering shooting has been the same since they beefed up the crap slow shooting 3 years ago, for it not to have really improved this year is a disappointment, that and the lack of improvement tactically regarding the AI really kills the fun for me as they are 2 of the main things gameplay wise I wanted to see fixed.

It is a really good game though... definitely still in a dilemma over a purchase

Glad its the last time Your mentioning shooting, as Your 2 or 3 posts a day in the negative collectively equal spamming.
And You don't want to fall foul of that.
If its an immersion breaker ( a very overused cliche ),then You may wish to move on to other things.
Probably You will start on the FIFA thread next, Oh wait a minute You already have, and guess what,same negatives.

Pes 2011 was the last Pes created by Seabass. His vision where you said above but he is gone. I quess this is a reason. Before Masuda came Pes had own philosofy but after that Pes copy FIFA.
