PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Maybe it's me or it may be just on PS3, but I don't feel in control of what's happening on the pitch. It's like there's a second between button pressing and what players do. It's very similar to PES2014 in that way. Honestly, I don't like this game at the moment, i feel like something is broken or just doesn't work fine.

I know this kind of things always happen the first weeks with the new game, but I only read wonders about 2017 and I don't feel so...

Where did you press to save it? because even when I do, it just crushes afterwards. And deletes itself, so strange.

For now its the best, but you can mix it up with other bits and pieces. Managed to find 7 others to fill European up a bit, but I believe I need 24, so going to be a bit of a wait to get it all nailed in.

Mehuk.... i guess i will wait till Wednesday see whats out as im off from Tuesday night for 5 days!!! Major PES sweat.

So... the FAKE EURO league will be the Bundesliga and then the FAKE other Euro have 24 teams?! Im not on the game so cant tell.

I also want those Brazilian teams sorted too.. sick of having loads of fakes in that league despite having all the teams.
 
Someone has done a fix for the Brazilian league players I believe. And im pretty sure its 24 other Europeans, something around that number anyway.

I think Cristiano has Portugal included on his file, im sure it has. He has at least renamed the temas, maybe the kits are missing?
 
I'm glad but surprised that so many are enjoying this as much.
Unfortunately I'm falling out of love with it already. Maybe it's because I solely play online, maybe I played the demo too much or maybe I just expect more from a football game in this day and age but I'm getting no enjoyment from it at all anymore. Visually it looks very dated too (outwith the scanned faces)

You need to work on the timing. It works well when you read the defender coming in to tackle and you can completely bamboozle him. Bursts of the R1 after a R2 step also works wonders.

On another note, I played assisted on myclub and noticed alot of shots going off target but in a nonsense way. Anyone else find this? Not sure if it's the form arrows.

I play Manual shooting, but I'm sure it would work with all 3 settings.

The trick will be right player, right ball position and right elevation then the game will perhaps provide you with the type of low shot you saw Zlatan produce in the .GIF clip earlier.
 
Ok I take it back.
Earlier I was complaining about the AI not attacking me sufficiently on Top Player and being able to take the ball off them easily. I also didn't have the latest transfers despite updating to the latest version.

Anyway, I activated live update again and then started a new league as Arsenal. Wow, what a difference. The AI are playing smartly, trying to break me down. Ibra is a beast in this. I lost at home to Bournemouth and went 1-0 down early to Burnley. They shut the shop but I managed to eventually get Alexis to take down a long ball and drill it across the keeper for a beautiful leveller. Burnley then seemed to lose confidence and I quickly made it 2-1 from a Giroud header. The last 10 mins they threw the lot at me and nearly snatched a point twice. It was a cracking match.

It's almost as if the AI wasn't booted up the last time I played. But with this save all is well. Welcome back PES
 
Some of the variety still beggars belief at times. Just played out what can only be described as a shitty 0-0, but it was beautiful.

Me Bordeaux vs Metz (Top player / Manual) using the League option and Ligue 1. Our pass completion rate was 52% and 55% respectively, so that goes to show how scrappy it was. From the off Metz went direct, im talking diagonals, knocking down the flank, anything they could test my back 4 with, it came.

Im not the fanciest of players, I like mixing it and playing that way myself to an extent... but as Metz kept it up, I got sucked in to playing them at their own game. It turned into an absolute mess of a game, heavy challenges, aerial battles (I mean we played head tennis in and out of the box at one point).. .the Metz players were mis controlling it, balls going awry everywhere.

As I say it fizzled out into a 0-0 draw with neither side really creating anything really noteworthy, but if I compare that to the game before where Montpellier basically stifled me with possession football and sat back on a 1-0 lead with 2 banks of 4. Its like chalk and cheese and I love it, you just dont know what you are going to get and this is where (hopefully) the longevity of the game comes into it for me as an offline player. Having variety in the AI, having to mix things up .. right now and I apologise for swearing, but I fucking love it, I really do.
 
Best way to train manual passing and shooting is playing on amateur.
Myclub toned my cpu opponent down to amateur as I kept losing cause of missing the goal too much.
Even on amateur and full manual I had a lot of variation and good games.
Gomis is a beast!

I've always loved that about Pes you don't know what the next match will throw up. .. .could be a classic or bore the hair off you.
 
I'll post here as well as in the video thread. Just some goals/chances. Sorry for the overall length of the video and the duration of some clips but I am a sucker for build-up play and seeing if the commentary offers decent narrative in the build-up.

Features that "respect for Buffon" moment, and a 23 pass move straight from kick-off. First "highlight" I just found funny as my name is Alan and it was like the game was breaking the fourth wall and telling me my decision making was rubbish. The last "highlight" is a great point blank save following a wonderful wee take down by my forward that caught me by surprise to the point I panicked on the finish.

Just Exhibition Mode stuff on Top Player with PA1 assist and advanced shooting. Using this set-up for control just to warm up and get more used to ball control and alike in general. Played the demo eventually using a manual passing/advanced shooting combo and seemed a sweet spot for me on Top Player, so will try that once I eventually start some competition play or ML.

 
Does anyone know how to stop your DM from sliding in between the center backs when playing with 1 DM? It's really annoying me! I thought I saw it being discussed on release day but can't find the discussion.
