.. obviously I don't wanna turn this into a PES vs FIFA (in all honestly who cares, as I think they both have so much too offer this year, and yeah there's a thread for that), but it was after playing the FIFA17 demo last night that really highlighted to me how special PES was this year. I had a great hour playing the fifa17 demo last night and it was particularly the smooth running animations, ball physics (particulary the way the ball rolls on the ground.. and keeps rolling) and first time passing errors that really amazed me. Overall, It was the complexity of the FIFA17 game (control-wise and variations-of-animations-wise) that really stood out, ie. the sheer amount of things you can actually do and see.
I switched to PES2017, (which I then managed to play for about 3 hours straight), and what immediately stands out is how "tight" it feels after playing Fifa. By tight, i mean players and ball have a real weighty solid feeling about them, together with a fantastically simple and responsive control scheme. In a word, its the "simplicity" that makes this game so good, and in two (or more), it's first time a PES game has made me feel so satisfyingly "in control" of my actions on the park, and by that I am only referring to simply controlling the players (not even thinking about tactics yet). Fantastically simple and responsive, yet incredibly deep is how id describe pes2017. I literally spent an hour or more in skills training/free training mode, as it felt so good. Simply pinging the ball around.. practicing my manual passing and more importantly manual shooting (with L2 ofcourse).
When it comes to the actual gameplay (not just control scheme), Pes2017 has truly blown me away with what Konami have done from last year to now. The AI is back, and so are the variations, and for the first time in a very long time, there's the absence of game breakers that have previously outshone the positives in the past (Yes the grass needs to be greener Like a lot of you guys, im at the point where I cannot stop thinking about this game. I mean, ive been watching many football games on tv over the last week, and all reminds me of pes2017. Now the fun part begins, getting into the tactics and ML. I seriously cannot wait for the OF's that begin tinkering with team tactics - to add even more team individuality to this great game.
