After 30 matches i started to notice the same. A lot of shots out the box.
 
After playing on -1 manual since I got the demo I switched to the default speed and it's way more exciting . . .. had some great games with Germany v France . . .switching between Germany's default formation and all out attack . .3-2-5 I think.
 
I'm so struggling on manual shooting. Is the concept to point the stick in the direction of the goal ie to the left or right of the analogue stick. Can you control the height and curl better too??

I'm struggling as well even though I had no problem on Pes 2016. . .. shots seem to go mainly at the keeper. . .I tested it with basic shooting and they were going to the keeper a lot as well. You should use the minimum angle when putting the ball either side of the keeper or it will go well wide, the same with curl and height.

It's a bummer Zee just as you crack a tough defence and the shot either lands in the keepers lap or goes out of the stadium lol.

Wait, are you complaining you can't score so easily as you could in Pes 2016? In this demo i scored some great long distance goals, but they are a bit more difficult to pull off, exactly how it should be.

The stats you need to look at to understand if the player shooting is good or not is Finishing, and be sure to be in a good position to shoot.
 
After spending two weeks with the demo: Do you guys still feel it's the best PES?
(Won't take 'if they sort THIS out', 'if they fix THAT', 'if they improve X' for an answer, lol).

I do actually. Atleast the best PES after PES6. The Longevity will decide it for me in the full game if it beats the PS2 versions I had 1000+ hours of fun with. But I'm enjoying it even more every time I play the game.

It's the best demo that I've played.

Greyed out options/tactics could make or break the game, honestly. None of us can judge that till it's day 1 release.

What if there were no options? What if this was the final game? Would you say it's the best?.
 
I'd have to say my favorite Pro Evo post PES 6 was 2013, but as of right now I'd say 2017 will easily take that top spot. I enjoyed the 2016 demo quite a bit, but hated the final product. With that said, this is the most I've enjoyed myself, and the most promise I've seen in a PES game in ages!

With the discovery of Geforce Gamestream (or Share Play for PS4 users) now I can finally play Master League cooperatively with a friend online. I couldn't be more excited.
 
I think I will go back to basic shooting, stick to manual passing and basic through balls. Like anything, if you play it properly the game gives so much back in return. Play it at 100mph, trying spam long balls and score a ton of goals, it is going to become tiresome very quickly.

Even in the demo I play controlled stop start footy, it feels so good.
 
True. I had another session this evening. Superb games all and I switched my shooting back to manual. The exhilaration of scoring and the amount of control you have is just too much for me to go basic again.

I still wish I knew how to play that little lay up pass around the box on manual though I always seem to hit it too hard. Any tips?

I tried manual shooting tonight the first time in 2017. It was so exciting. Will stick with it for some time.
Yeah. Little layups. Even with L2 it's a little to hard, imo. I remember it being slower back in the days so I could just lay it off for a meter not 1-3!

Best PES in my opinion so far. Hope they won't mess it up in the final product

Balls.........ill have to master manual shooting. I need the training ground.....NOW!!!!
 
To all of my fellow manual players out there, do you guys ever utilize crosses as shots? It's nothing new of course, but you can put some cheeky "shots" to the far corners to try and catch the keeper out. Double tap cross for a low, hard shot works a treat as well.

I have no idea how the O cross works this year (once I get into the cross activation zone). Sometimes it's mid height and very fast, sometimes it's just like a normal O pass outside of box. I never know what to expect. You got some tips on crossing (in and around the box) in manual? If I end up scoring directly:CONF:, I probably wouldn't know how it happened

I have more confidence with advance through ball right now.

OO shooting works as well, it's been there since 15? Problem with it is we don't know what happens to the finishing stats when we use the pass button for shots. X shooting works as well:

I got a different problem, I don't miss the goal, but everything goes right at the keeper, I can't find proper placement. Literally, EVERY SHOT. Then I got frustrated and tried the OO at 33:30, just for sake of variation..

No, i just skipped Pes 16 because i found too easy to score from any distance and from any position, no matter the player used and his attributes..
Pes 17 is a huge improvement over the arcade 16, but for my taste too many long shots go wide or out, even if thrown by a player with high attributes of finishing and kicking power.
I'll give a try with manual shot (now i'm with basic shot)

I spoke about this a few posts back. Most manual shots go straight to the keeper . ..very frustrating. . . .sometimes it happens on basic as well.
