PES 2016 News & Discussion Thread

Everytime somebody talks about a hardcore football simulation, i can't help to laugh and think, go kick a ball in your garden...the only real "hardcore" simulation football.

I wish i was still in my 30's...

Ridiculous statement.
That's like saying if you want a realistic simulation of motor racing, go and become an F1 driver.

What I think he means is, if you're asking for 1:1 mimic of real life football, save yourself the heartache and just play outside, because it's not yet achievable at this point in time.

I've been playing PES 2014 for a while these days, and despite the potential this game had, it's broken and unplayable. I understand the decision KONAMI have taken to make PES 2015 and 2016 more responsive and therefore more playble.

What i don't understand is why they took away some good elements from PES 2014 and i didn't see them even on latest videos from PES 2016.

1. Ball physics was way much better in PES 2014. Especially after a low pass the ball bobble more realistically.

2. Lighting (especially daytime).

3. Shirt physics

Truly hope PES team improve those elements in final release of PES 2016.

Here is a video comparing ball physics between PES 2014 & PES 2015.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H11Hr_BlEJs

Omg WTF??

Well, I played PES 2014 quite a lot but forgot how good the ball physics were compared to 2015.
I never really liked them in PES 2015 but now that I see the comparation...that´s a bad joke.
Why the hell did they tone that bobbling down that much?

I guess they won´t change that much for 2016. Bummer!

EDIT: Been checking that stage demo video again where Bhatti talks and his two colleagues play Brazil vs Germany.
Ball physics seem slightly improved, I think.
Doesn´t look that bad.
I checked the comparation vid again. I guess the problem is, that in 2014 the ball bobbles more but doesn´t roll fast enough. It rolls quite slowly compared to 2015 where there are stronger and faster passes.
Gotta check the 2016 vid again but I think they went into the right direction there.
What do you guys think?

#PES2016 Dynamic weather mode: the first half sunny, rainy second half.It will be like this? Or will spontaneously change?

Another thing we don´t know for sure as KONAMI always spits out half assed infos of their features for years.
One half this, one half that would be way too ridiculous imo, but it probably would still hit the definiton of dynamic weather in a match :).

Passing was much better in PES 2014, in 2015 it has an unrealistically low trajectory and it's unrealistically fast and accurate.
It's just horrible in comparison and they seem to go the same way in 2016 also, i hope they freaking wake up before it's too late!!!

Something that I noticed playing league-competition in PES 2015 at top-player is that the game plays realistic and balanced until I make the first goal.

Then suddenly the opponent becomes viciously efficient and achieves to equalise within the first attack after the goal I made. Then the match gets back to the normal balanced way.

it's so funny. when 2014 was out passing was to slow and "sim"-like, nobody liked it because it was not fun like in the old days. then konami changes it in 2015 arcade style and everybody then suddenly likes 2014 passing better. i bet if they did it the "sim"-way in 2017 again, everybody would moan about it and want faster, arcady passes again.

i seems like everything that's currently implemented is bad and everything old is perfect.

Yeah, this is correct. I try to pass the ball around without hitting the final third for a few minutes after scoring. Could still be a placebo effect but I tend to not see them be so OTT if I've kept possession for a short while after I take the lead or equalise.

It's the cup games in ML that are more ridiculous, I've found. Sometimes a match turns into a completely unstoppable shitfest after I score. With a team of players in good-to-great form, I've lost 6-1, 7-1 to seriously wank, fatigue-riddled sides days after scraping a 3-2 win away at Juve in the league.

Hope something changes.

It's not a ridiculous statement. It's true. And comparing a racing simulator to a football game is like comparing apples to oranges. Think about it.;)

to simulate player movement, physics, stats, ballphysics, collision, player ID and team ID is more than enough in a game. and most of them already well done in PES. next step should be to balance defending and attack, midfield battle, shooting and keepers. then its a complete game for me

A niche simulation w/o licenses wouldn't even get off the ground. FIFA kills PES in sales largely, but not soley, because of the EPL license.

Personally i talked only about ball physics were in PES 2014 is way much better than PES 2015 (and from gameplay video we saw in PES 2016).

The passing system in general is something else.

Of course you didn't read my previews posts and have seen that they contradict with my current one. Sry but i can't apologize for other people's contradicting opinions.

The video posted by Broxopios reveals one simple fact and that is that the ball behavior during passing in 2014 had much more variation and believability since not all passes were attached to the grass, perfectly straight and unrealistically accurate. Even if for whatever reason i change my mind in the future that fact will still be valid.

i didn't intend to talk about one single person's opinion but rather the overall impression from forums in general.

Of course as a generic impression you were right but it's only expected that there are always going to be contradicting opinions from different ppl whether they are right or wrong and it's highly unlikely that a product will ever satisfy all its customers.
Imo it's better if we stick to the important part of each post.

So do you prefer the way passing feels in 2014 or 2015 and do you like a passing trajectory that varies in strength, accuracy and height depending on the situation or do you like a straight to the point fast paced passing system.

i defenitely prefer the 2014 (more varying) way when passes did not seem to be so laser guided and perfect all the time. but i also know that it's not the majority's opinion unfortunately.

Same here.
Specially them through balls look so laserguided like it rolls always in the same angle.

pes 2014 sometimes felt like the game i always dreamed of, especially in midfield, loved the momentum of the players, almost no space in midfield as it should be

but the dribbling ruined everything for me, you can hold down R1 with robben and it feels like you are running against a wall and pirlo chases you down from 10 meters behind

too bad they didn't try to work on it and made a complete 180 with pes 2015

That's like saying if you want a realistic simulation of motor racing, go and become an F1 driver.

Wrong analogy.
Everybody can play football, but not everybody can drive a F1 car, let alone race with it.
That goes for every type of motor racing by the way. 99% of the people on this forum couldn't race without having accidents.

I think most of us can play a litle bit football.

I think most of the criticism is totally wrong (for both football games). Quite a lot of people think it's too obvious or easy to play good football.

I wonder with what kind of teams those people play. I'm pretty sure most of them only play with the likes of Barcelona, Bayern or Real Madrid.

One criticism i do agree with situatie CPU controlled teams like the proverbiaal Stoke all play too good.
