Ok, I´m convinced now. PES will only see my money again when they change to another engine and start making things seriously.

Nowadays its all about PES and Fifa, and seriously, none of them gives a good simulation experience. PES is unrecognizable these days, Fifa is arcade all the way... Despite what most people think, I believe this is the ideal time for some company to step up and present us with a harcore soccer simulation. Its a niche market right now, a very good one. If someone would step up with this, then we would see Fifa and PES on their nerves, trying to catch up with real improvements. In fact, I would even immagine Konami giving up on PES for good! The only reason why tey´re still here is because PES is an alternative for the anti Fifa fans.

Lets be honest, if we didn´t know PES as it is now, and some company presented an unfinished product like PES out of nowere, would you like it?

PES 2015 was horrible for me... great build up on midifeld, but then, everything else falls short. I regret on bying it, but its life. Still, they had a solid base to work on, and for the likes of the videos, we can all see the same technical problems. Improved/polished graphics and few new animations ain´t gonna save the day. Sorry Konami, I´m out.

Firstly, I think to say "PES is unrecognisable" is a bit unfair, it's got the same core to it as the PES games from years ago, and that's why I still play it! It's absolutely PES, as far as I'm concerned.

But also, I find it a bit sad that given how advanced both games are now, the general view is that they're still nowhere near a simulation and not very advanced. Compared to the old games, they're both so much better than they ever have been (though admittedly, I think FIFA 14 was better than 15, and a lot of people think PES 2013 was better than 2015).

I think both games have huge advantages over one another - FIFA's physics engine is superb, in my opinion, whereas the flow of PES is much more realistic. I feel like FIFA has the "science" bang-on whereas PES has got the "human" element right (i.e. how football is actually played, how the flow of the game occurs), or at least, as close to right as we've seen from a football game before.

I feel like we get closer to the perfect game each year, even when things get broken during the evolution.

We're getting there.

Are you not concerned not be taken seriously? Just take your first sentence. Is that another way to say that you do not buy PES 2016 this year? All your other critics are beyond reason. Yes, PES 2016 is unfinished, but it will be released in september. PES 2015 is a finished product. I can go on but I don't. It is already a waste of energy ( as is your whole post ).

Although I don´t agree with all of your points and I think it´s a little too early to charge off PES 2016 completely as we don´t have no demo yet, I find the bold arguments quite interesting.

We had that topic somewhere already.
A 3rd party combining all the positive features from both versions could use a niche market indeed.
Would be difficult to get all the licenses though, or at least enough to make it attractive.
But then, providing a sufficient edit mode could do the trick either :).

But well, I´ll wait for the demo and won´t make the same mistake again buying PES too early.

If some unknown company presented a product like Pes out of nowhere and we never knew Pes i'm sure many of you would never be so critic and pessimistic about that game.

Pes receives so much critics just because we KNOW Pes, we know the high quality levels it reached years ago. You are one of the many saying Pes in unrecognizable. That is the problem:always comparing the actual Pes with the past Pes. Always searching for those emotions those games gave you.

I am 100% convinced that if a game with the quality of Pes 2015 was released out of nowhere, people would have supported it through word of mouth, instead of criticizing every single aspect of it.

thats called brand recognition. its like Coca Cola would dropped the original taste for vanilla and all the new ones, but PES did that 8 yrs ago.
and Adam is now there to bring that back, to bring back the PES that was a fun to play, responsive, fluid, every match is different, player individuality based, edit mode , ML orientated on couch multiplayer. ofcourse it has to evolve with MyClub and licences tho.

Gee, that's what I decided with FIFA after last year. On the other hand I'm very happy PES finally feels like football rather than kick-the-rock-with-the-robot. FIFA is the game that has needed an AI trashing and overhaul for a decade or more. Whereas the nuts and bolts are all in place with PES, Konami just has to fine tune it properly now.

No need for another developer to step up - like that's going to happen - because Konami is doing that already.

Have been playing PES 2015 more lately and I have to say it's pretty good. It's far from perfect but imho it's the first PES since PES 6 that can be played without being always reminded of some fundamentally broken aspect.

The animation is ok,the control is ok, the goalkeeper is ok...

I think it's a good base to build upon. With better graphics, better lighting in nightgames, better turfs, physicality, more varied and satisfactory shooting and a realtime two tiered stamina/fatigue system and this could become a great game.

the volume was low. but sounded like the Milan - Juve game had great atmosphere. and it said in the new features that realistic stadium sounds were included

I agree with you on most parts, but I am a little afraid that physicallity will have some unwanted side-effects. I mean the same side-effects as in the current version of FIFA. You will get rough fouls, not stopped by the referee. People will complain about that I am afraid. In the movies of PES 2016 I already seen some examples of it. It should be tuned down a bit.

And why is that? Because pes and fifa are good enough for you? and that competition is a bad thing? Please try to be reasonable abit.

Unless it's another big company, it's going to be really hard for any upstart to bring anything to the table. We've seen it with other football related games that gets written off so early because they don't have real players. If you want a slice of the FIFA market and lure them, you'll have to offer what FIFA is also offering but for the better. That's why we see KONAMI doing it's best to get as much license as they can in recent years.

This issue had been one of the roadblocks in PES in the early days. This is also a strength of FM, real names, teams, and licenses.

Imagine FM without real teams and names... Just wouldn't work (for me personally).

I'd like to see This is Football make a comeback, I thought that had a bright future - especially with it being a first party title. I wonder why Sony decided to drop it, if it was purely sales or if it was the fear that EA wouldn't release FIFA on PlayStations if they carried on...

What's the most recent title to try and take FIFA and PES on, on console? Was it the horrendous "Pure Football"?

#PES2016 Dynamic weather mode: the first half sunny, rainy second half.It will be like this? Or will spontaneously change?

Can´t say for sure but I don´t think it´s changing throughout the matches. Lately programers like to use the word "dynamic" for marketing purposes, but who knows? It would be great.

But about my criticism... I believe PES is the closest we have to simulation, but then, when the most important part of the play comes, shooting or making the final pass, there´s just no emotion! At least I didn´t feel it while playing the game. I had some good moments, ok, but overall it all felt "meh". Then the colisions are awkward most times, there´s litle to no agression on most matches, wich leads to lack of fouls etc. Sure its been mentioned a million times. Those details leave with no love for this game. I´ll try the demo for hours, days whatever, but from the videos showing up and coments on the gameplay, I can bet aready that those details are still a problem.

I thought I could get over it and still enjoy the game, but after a couple matches I always quit... its just not enough for me. There were lots of advance and improvments over the years, and I´m sure they tried to make it better, but somehow they lost things on the way, things that used to be top, and made us play matches over and over again...

I've been playing PES 2014 for a while these days, and despite the potential this game had, it's broken and unplayable. I understand the decision KONAMI have taken to make PES 2015 and 2016 more responsive and therefore more playble.

What i don't understand is why they took away some good elements from PES 2014 and i didn't see them even on latest videos from PES 2016.

1. Ball physics was way much better in PES 2014. Especially after a low pass the ball bobble more realistically.

2. Lighting (especially daytime).

3. Shirt physics

Truly hope PES team improve those elements in final release of PES 2016.

Here is a video comparing ball physics between PES 2014 & PES 2015.

I don't daydream. It's PES and FIFA, that's the reality. The idea that some dev will step up and make a third game is the same old tired pipe dream people bring up every year on this forum, every year on the EA Madden forum, etc. But you go ahead and dream about some imaginary new game, I'm not stopping you.

And for the record, PES is a great game that is just getting better every year, so no need for pipe dreams, not for me anyway.

PES 2016 is not first PES with this ... " dynamic weather " ...
THere is others PES games (like PES 6 more) where as start playing is raining , after some time rain stops. I think will be the same like over the years . Just this time they will call it "DW"

been playing PES 2009 today. It maybe technically awful compared to 2015.

But its FUN!. And the nets are ace!

I'll post here to tell you that this was a great compliment, and sure I will soon do the same. I'm wasting time and life if i have all those great memories in the past collected. :WORSHIP:
