PES 2016 News & Discussion Thread

Unfortunately individuality will be basic cos if they try to make it more sim based they will lose the manual and casual players cos they don't understand individuality, they will start complaining to konami saying the game is broken, that's why the game is fakt up, konami are trying to cater for all types of gamers and it's not working, but the majority of the dollars are coming from those groups, I don't have my hopes high for PES 17, will wait and see.

I honestly feel Pes 2016 is the most complex futebol game to date, especially in comparison to earlier Pes games. The AI is far more advanced and the freedom of play and variation in games is alot better.

- Pes 2012 is good for what it is, but freedom of play is not that great, feels verey restricted with dribbling.

- Pes 2013 good again , I dont like the balloony ball physics and the way the ball feels like it is attached to a spring.

- Pes 2014 not bad, but the variation and freedom is the worst here, I found this game very repetitive. Not to mention how players who should be faster just get overtaken by slow defenders.

- Pes 2015, well just a not as good version of Pes 2016.

Im playing superstar difficulty, and at this difficulty it is the hardest Pes by quite a margin. Im guessing thats why many folks dont like it, as it requires you to be alot better than earlier Pes games. Ive had to improve so much to be able to consistently play well against better teams, even lower teams can surprise with their 'different' game plan.

Took me so long to find a formation and settings for my team that suit my playstyle, this is another factor that hugely influences the quality of games.

I feel the same way. Really don't get all the complaints

Besides the issues of AI shots variation and referees, I think the game lacks animations so the movements are repetitive. B-Man mentioned about the pes 2014 leaked ps3 demo, I checked the videos and saw lots of animations there, even until the smallest off ball movements that makes it look quite alive.

Konami are a bit of jerk company these days, but I do have to thank them for one thing.

I think it's pretty cool that the last gen versions of PES 2016 are almost exactly the same as its PS4 brother, apart from graphics.

I seldom play other video games apart from football games and I really don't feel like spending big money on a PS4 just for a footy game. Although, with PES 2017 I might just have to. I doubt they'll release another one for Xbox 360!
They even released PES 2014 for the PS2, so it's rather unlikely they are dropping the current gen consoles already. Although it wouldn't surprise me if they started releasing only updates for their F2P versions on PC and PS3 and concentrate on the next-gen consoles with the real game.

I am going crazy with the amount for criticism this game is getting. I can not argue with any one or try to sway opinions but to me it is the best version of pes so far, although it could have been better if they continued with some of the good elements of PES 2015. The pace in PES 2016 is a bit fast. I also believe that some basic settings can enhance the game experience, like the live-broad cast cam for example. As far as difficulty of the game, I am surprised to hear that the game is very easy, it is just not to me

Well said dude. Its difficult times for Konami. They want some money.

PES 2016 on PS3/360 is actually pretty damn impressive, yeah. Graphics really aren't bad, and are a step up from 2015. The crowds are really the only thing that look bad, but the game play itself is near identical to the next-Gen versions. It probably has to do with the fact that South America is a major market for them, and the install base for the advanced systems isn't as high there as UK/US.

Started an International league with Italy and stepped up to Superstar manual. . ..surprised at how well the game plays. .the keepers are excellent and the defenses are a big improvement. You have to really work hard to score at this level.

I can't play above Professional level or my stress levels reach the sky. It's difficult enough having both passing and shooting on manual and -1 speed.

International league is the best mode to play this game ATM. I was with lami about professional level but I found it too easy to rob their defenders off the ball SL I reluctantly upped it to top player

For me the right difficulty level for pes 2016 is top player, superstar can sometimes be so annoying. I like advanced shooting more, I miss many shots, manual gets easier as you get used to it.

Anyone still plays pes 2011? I'm really liking it a lot right now. It has better animations than PES 2013. Haven't played that much and I seem to struggle scoring but the game is awesome.

Same here. The pace in 2015 was perfect. -1 feels about right to me in 2016

Yeh the International league is brill, I've been using Top Player for ages and got a shock when I stepped it up to Superstar. Total concentration is vital and it's hard to hold on to the ball. . .it's like every second counts and the punch the air moments are back even if the goal you've just scored wasn't great.

Hah and here I am playing PES 2016 on + 2.

I almost always play the PES games on fastest speed. I love that. I don't necessarily need a football game to super realitic, I just want it to be lots of fun with realistic elements. Fast, fluid and fun.

PES 2016 nails that, despite its sometimes very annoying, well documented issues (low shooting, a.i defenders backing off too much, you know the lot!).

Responsiveness is key to a fun football game imo and this is probably the most responsive footy game ever. I've only realised that the last couple of weeks.
PES 2013 is also pretty damn good in this area.

Do you take your oats with speed for breakfast? :BRMM:

You are right though. There is superb response but to a fault imo. Glad you enjoying it as much as you are.

Glad to know im not alone. Superstar on 1 bar can be tolerable in exhibition bit one you get into any kind of tournament mode or master league and that competition bias kicks in, Superstar just becomes borderline unplayable.

I'm conflicted between though because I find professional and top player too easy and don't get any sense of urgency or competitiveness from the AI, so every now again I'll wake up on a new day giving Superstar a go and instantly paying for my naivety.

In a few years (two or three max) if things don't change Adam will be surprised Pes development will stop. Because sales show that's the way Pes is going to.

Sales are falling dramatically but still healthy enough in their own right. The bigger problem here is Konami and their abrupt and almost wholesale withdrawal from the gaming industry. PES may have survived - for now - but I don't see how it can escape beyond the short-term. I doubt it has a future beyond a couple of years.

As for the Asim hiring...LOL.

Jobs for the boys, as Chris said. Good luck to him aboard the sinking ship Konami. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Every time I'm on a winning streak on Pro, I say the game after next I'll try Top Player. Next game comes and I get hammered and I drop the whole Top Player idea altogether :CONF:

Ah c'mon Lami you have to step out of your comfort zone .. where's the challenge in winning on an easy level? Personally I find if you stick it out on the harder levels it improves your game overall and believe it or not it does get easier.

I think just the opposite. CPU AI in PES2015 and 2016 is very poor. PES 2014 was the last PES with tactic sliders. Now the options are very reduced, your team is either counter attack or Possession game, you can't choose a blend of the two styles, the same for defensive tactics. The PES with more variation in the matches is PES 2014, you can play boring games, just like in real life and CPU teams play great football.

The variation is great in WE 2014 Aoki because of the True Ball tech and the Heart feature. CPU scores with great variation, PES 2016 CPU shots and goals are always the same. The animations in WE 2014 Aoki depends on the context. I'm playing since 2014 and you can find new animations. This one is from last week:

But in the same time - where is the realism, if Las Palmas begin to play like Real Madrid? Some people don't need this fake ( upping stats of low tier teams ) type of challenge. ; )

Never experienced that in a PES game. You must be talking about FIFA. Every team feels the same in that Game.

I was enjoying PES2014 but after notching the level up to Top Player, the CPU gets 99% of shots on target. Which is unrealistic to me. Been trying FIFA 2016 with different sliders and found it quite good although i'm sure that will wear off soon. After reading some positive posts about 2016 i'm thinking of giving it another go.

This is all i'm constantly doing, trying every footy game thats ever made and not getting to complete a season. Then i get an update on my ipad for FM 2016 and i feel the urge to play that again :BRICK:

i love the PES series, but i will tell you this, that on this game most teams in the big leagues play the same accept Barcelona i can see they play the way their supposed too. The only leagues and comps i feel teams feel different is the south american stuffs.

I love this addition of PES before you accuse me of being an hater lol.

The problem with having teams with individual styles of play is that it involves the in game tactics which imo is far limited compared to PES 2011

This system was fantastic and Konami dropped it the next year. Currently the teams play fixed styles regardless of the game scenario.
