PES 2016 News & Discussion Thread

Regarding the issue that PES 2016 became arcadish and that players all have the same pass capabilities and that first touch error is reduced...

The problem seems much bigger than expected: Now even real life footballers and teams are becoming arcadish as well, have watched champions league matches this week, and all players have near perfect pass capabilities, first touch error is practically non existent, and they seem able to run around the whole pitch for the whole 90 minutes like crazy... and most try to shoot goals with low shots.

Konami, what have you done!!!!
Lol too true. Did you see the Real vs Roma match both Salah and Djeko were on blue arrows and the opening real goal was just a glitch to get crynadlo to score.

The pass accuracy was under 70% at some point and there were actual free kicks given though.

This is the thing I really miss against the AI - decent passing accuracy stats.

In either game this year, that passing accuracy stat at the end of a game is mental.

In PES, it can be as low as 70%, but it's rare, and usually not for the teams you'd expect - and often (e.g. in my most recent match, against Crystal Palace), you see teams getting as high as 97% passing accuracy (I repeat - against Crystal Palace)...

In FIFA, it's always the same kind of figure, no matter what team you play, and it's always around 90% for me. You see teams occasionally misplacing passes out of play, which is great, but then you play against Burnley and they become Barcelona with their passing because of how the AI works.

It totally spoils team identity. I feel it more in PES, but it's so much worse than it used to be.

It feels to me like the more they remove the invisible "grid" and "rails" (that you can feel in games like PES 2013), the worse the AI gets, because it's just too much for the consoles - or, the programmers at Konami - to deal with.

I mean, I'm glad they're gone, but at the same time, if it means that Crystal Palace finish a game with 97% passing accuracy... Then...

That's strange cause I'm playing on xbox one with top player, -2 gamespeed, full manual with Juventus in the italian league and champions league and me and the Cpu get about 70-80% pass completion rate and sometimes in the sixties.

For me, the animations in pes 2016 is just off. I don't like it. The players runs and stands in a weird way. I think last year's animation is better. For player animations I like winning eleven 2014 aoki samurai no chousen and football kingdom.

Even the responsiveness, for me, isn't 100% - try going back to PES 2013 and hitting some passes. It's absolutely more responsive in 2013.

I've played this year's PES & FIFA for 100s of hours, and in PES there are situations where there's the slightest-of-delays that stops a pass going through, or stops you being able to dribble past someone, where in FIFA the response times really are instantaneous (but do you no good because it's impossible to move forward due to being constantly under pressure).

Why is the Euro 2016 standalone disc game version only coming out for Xbox and not Playstation?

Some times I have no fucking clue what goes on in Konami's minds...
Is it? I've seen PlayStation box art for it!

EDIT: You can see it in some of the images used in this GamesRadar news article.

Actually, it sort of suggests the opposite to what you've said - it doesn't mention the Xbox...

Hah, I messed up Chris! I meant only for Playstation, not Xbox!
No worries! :D

I didn't realise it wasn't coming out as a disc release for Xbox - but I reckon that's based on sales figures. Given that the game hasn't sold well (see B-Man's post a few pages ago), I'd imagine the Xbox figures are particularly bad.

I don't understand how it's worth the manufacturing costs even for the PS4 release given that anyone who's interested in PES will surely already have it, BUT, they must be expecting people to be out and about during Euro 2016, see the game in shops, maybe be sick of FIFA by this point, and decide to purchase the game on a whim (which is what licenses are all about - swaying people who might know nothing about the game, or who will play a game they don't even like just because it has the official tournament gubbins, which I'll admit, I have done).

But if the Xbox figures are terrible, I guess that's one risk they can't afford to take.

I just wish it had more than one stadium... That's some serious bullshit for a licensed game and/or game mode.

@chris there is a huuuge market playing this game offline only. In south Africa for example offline ratio to online is about 1-5 if not higher!

BTW offline multi-player is an absolute blast I can't stress that enough.

The DLC is free, isn't it? On both Xbox and Playstation.
Yeah I'll just have to download it now, no worries.
I keep forgetting that the DLC is free... :COAT:

So - thinking about it - anyone with common sense would buy PES 2016 second-hand and get the DLC free, rather than buy the "boxed release", surely? Will a second-hand copy of PES 2016 cost more than the new release? It's already £20 second-hand on Amazon (and they sell for buttons on eBay)...

But again, there's a lot of casual gamers who don't have a clue about any of this and will think "new game" and buy it.

I can understand that, 100% - and I don't play online myself (especially not PES, which, as you've said, is batshit crazy). But in the UK, it's rare that someone doesn't have their console connected to the internet, even if they don't play online, and I was assuming (perhaps wrongly) that IGS is in the UK!

adjust the tactics if they are still in default. hell of a job i agree but if you want to enjoy the game and are up for the challenge it is very much worth it.

try and set up Chelsea just like Hiddink did a few matches.
Mikel and Matic like defensive midfielders, support 2-3 bars. if that doesn't impress you no football game will.

This is why option files are needed for ps4.

Thats alot of editing.. basically fixing the game on day of release and after every data pack as im certain all edits get wiped dont they?!

KONAMI going full nostalgic. Awesome trailer.

That cover brings back so much memories.. I remember my high school friend being really amazed by the gameplay and how he can't imagine any football game being more realistic than that. The only thing I don't like about the early PS1 Pro Evo/WE games is the loud sound of the ball being kicked/headed.

I wish I was better pulling off tricks in this game with the sticks, because I think it's a very nice, natural intuitive system.
It's just that I suck at them.

I just do something randomly most of the time. I can't concentrate on the game and think of the trick input at the same time.:BRMM:

Lol it's very difficult to remember the combinations when you only have a split second to react in a situation. If you can manage to master the tricks you would win a lot more games especially on superstar.
