Fight the Power!

.. there is a bit of a catch up bug with pes2014, but what certainly helps is getting away from your man with the first touch, especially when running onto the ball. I found that just before your player reaches the ball (has to happen before you get to the ball)you need to double press r1 and then quickly hold down r3. This allows your player to knock the ball the furthest (slightly more than the typical double tap r1).
What you can also do to beat another player, is dribble slowly diagonally one way, and as the defender approaches, double tap r1 + r3 in the opposite diagonal direction.. awesome way to take the ball away in a sudden knock on and sprint.
Speaking of pes14 dribbling, what I really like are the "small steps animation" that you take when you are slowing down (taking your hand of the left stick after moving in any direction). Very realistic, as you have more control and can then suddenly change direction, or take a shot. Something that isn't present in any other version, certainly not pes15 or 16. They really need these animations back....
And quickly about the manual shooting in pes14-16. I actually disagree with the fact that using the L2 arrow indicator for shooting is unrealistic or cheating. I think its more realistic than for a player to just point the controller in the direction unprecisely (if that's a word). In real life, particularly if the striker has time, he'll aim quite precisely towards a specific area of the goal. Even when you quite a bit of time and aren't under defender pressure, its still a challenge to do this with the arrow indicator, let alone when you are under pressure and need to use it quickly (ive stuffed up heaps of simple tap ins due to the pressure of having to hit a quick first timer). The only time I want shoot with the arrow indicator is if its an open goal, and im not far out, an simply need to hit in the general direction of the goal, like in real life - no real precision required. What needs to happen though, is that the arrow indicator should be harder to control (eg. overly sensitive) for the less able players... Konami also needs to incorporate, or at least have as an option, an error attribute for full manual passing/shooting, so that player individuality is present. If you point a certain direction (with arrow indicator) using a "not so great passer of the ball", the ball should rarely go exactly where that arrow is pointing. It should be variably skewed..
That and making it actually harder to control the indicator for less able player is the way forward.
This is the 'Tron Running' issue which spoils PES 2016 especially where players stay in a straight line while holding down sprint as if they are a riding a tron bike.
