PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

i stopped with pes after it came on 360/ps3 because it was horrible and changed to fifa (which is also horrible). Now i want to come back to pes. I played fifa fully manual, can you compare pes manual with fifa manual and is it fun, or is there a better mix for the settings for the old scool pes5 players?

I didn't play too much 2014, but from what I did I could tell you that the passing is much more satisfying in PES. That is until you mess up the direction on a pass and it still reaches the player, and it makes it feel like you were never in charge.

I love the more organic looking PES celebrations, i still wish they'd make them a little more context based though. I remember back on the PS2 they kind of where, picking the ball out the net when you pull a vital goal back, celebrating with less urgency when you're thrashing an opponent, piling on top of each other in glee after that last gasp winner..

I think Konami promised us more situational celebrations i think last year to coincide with the new dynamic crowd reactions but we never quite got that..

Yeah.. as i remember in PES 2014. Even if opponent is chasing goal.. they'll celebrate it as if it is an opening goal.. :CONFUSE:

I'm happy people are speaking about this because the celebrations in 2015 don't look good. They seem cutscene based rather than the organic contextual ones i was used to from the older games.

They like in 2014 look really weird, it's as if all the teammates completely disappear and the guy celebrates on his own. Indicative of a cutscene rather than realtime.

Really hoping Konami do what they used to do so well and program all the celebrations in real time so only the camera angle changes. Needs to happen!

Now that you mentioned it.
Damn right!

Don´t know when I saw that one the last time.

Another thing that must have been disappeared in KONAMI´s black hole.

I´d love to know the actual reason for taking out all those feats.

even though some PES celebrations are weird as well (Neymar in PES 2014), but it's authentic as they've done it themselves before...others like Raul's kissing the ring, Pato's heart, Rooney's glide...those are actual celebrations that are done by the actual players, thus i'd like that authenticity part.

Manual takes that out and lets people do stupid stuff which some enjoy, but I don't...

Remember the days you would roll a ball past a keeper and before the ball crossed the line you would run off and celebrate?

I miss those

Fluidity and individuality is coming along very well so far, but I'm concerned at how fast the game flows from end to end, I seriously hope that is rectified come release, coz that pace felt similar to basketball and is a game breaker for me.

Just some thoughts. Game is still too end to end, with little or no impact (in relation to the time) of stamina and fatigue. These guys are running non stop.

Still looks too fast, again though, don't know what settings everything is on. The human v human game is a bit shit, it's the way that they are playing it though probably.

Overall...don't know. Once again will probably have to take the plunge after the demo and play it myself. Probably a little underwhelmed to be honest, but the proof will be in the eating.

I still crave for a game that isn't so easy to get from end to end though, and that requires a little more chess like play; there's just space everywhere it seems with little or no effort to just get forward and no need to go back or sideways. I also think everyone's first touch looks Messi like, and that everyone can dribble with his ease.

You see football IRL whereby players (especially defenders) are reluctant JUST to pass it into midfield with pace for fear of that man losing possession. This all comes down to pressure on the ball, first touch and the ball bobbling and bouncing. Everything just still seems so fluid, so easy, requiring little strategic thinking.

Saying all that, I've learned that watching videos and particularly human v human ones are a waste of time, because it's a) not how I play it b) hopefully World Class or Superstar mode will make it hard just to get forward.

I enjoyed 2013 and learned to like 2014 a lot, so I'm optimistic. So anyway, let's just wait and see.

A lot of new stuff added. I liked how the ref waits to check on Chiellini before he calls for the medics. Amazing small details.

My personal thoughts are the same as ccshopland - it does look pretty arcadey in terms of pass accuracy, responsiveness, and the ease with which the ball seems to move from end to end. I'll see what I think of the demo, probably end up buying it at some point but I don't get as many free hours as I used to so I might have to pick one title or the other.

First touch is massively important in a realistic football game and it is something that Konami did so right from 2011 - 2013. The first touch in 2015 looks terrible, it seems everyone has perfect ball killing ability no matter what pass they are receiving. And to throw salt in the wound they appear to have abandoned their philosophy on player movements and the effect of momentum. The dribbling looks ridiculous, with tight, lightning fast movements and god like ball control for every player.
The game just looks very arcade like. I think it was Klashman that said it looks like PES 6, spot on, it looks EXACTLY like it. I was hoping for PES 2013 with better physics, AI, graphics and more animations but it looks like we have got PES 6 HD. Whats worse is it looks like the game is going to be well received which means they will continue along this arcade route rather than the more realistic one they were on, I may just be playing PES2013 for the rest of my gaming life.
