PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

“We have a game that lets you play real football; you can play counter-attacking, possession, long-ball,” he said.

“Which you can’t do in the other title, where it’s more like ping-pong.”

More like ping pong. Harsh!

i'm sorry but this guy can't be PES European brand manager

right!! this is absolut non professionel for a huge company like KONAMI.

i really dont like EA but i never heard bash from EA guys like Nick Cannon, David Rutter or sebastian enrique for the really poor PS3 area generation, quiet the opposite the guys handle the media much more proffesional.

The offending line wasn't said by Adam Bhatti, it was Klaus Garner who said it, and if i'm not mistaken, Garner is a former member of EA's FIFA development team. So maybe he knows what he's talking about.

In fact i partly agree with him. Calling FIFA ping pong is grossly exagerated, but he has a point.

I will try to explain myself. Until the first PS3 PES, i never played FIFA. I started buying it around FIFA10 and i liked it. I bought it because PS3 PES games were a huge disappointment to me (except for 11 and 2014 wich i both liked despite their flaws).

And yes, FIFA treats us more like cutomers, they offer us a very decent end product without major flaws, whereas Konami is making a shambles of the franchise.

Yet for all the bad things, when i play PES, i have to think like being on a football pitch, i never had that sensation with FIFA...never...

I bought the latest FIFA for PS4 and really liked it, so i started ti play it quite alot and after a while all the matches seemed very similar to me...it's not that i'm too good for the game (not at all), but it seems so repetitive to me...i don't have that with PES.

The only negative thing (and that is a big negative point) is that since PES2011, i've lost the fantastic thrill after scoring a goal...that is gone...i hope this will come back in PES2015... and then i don't mind if it's a litle bit arcadey...

I started this post about Bhatti and Garner. IMO Garner somewhere is right in what he says about FIFA, but it is not the smartest thing to do...this is very motivating for the FIFA development team...

Adam is completely right. FIFA is all about scoring goals, but indeed calling FIFA "a ping pong game" was really arrogant.

What is a problem? It's true. Fifa is ping pong game. Rutter 3 years ago said it:COOL: The passing system in Fifa didn't change since Fifa 10. It's ping pong passing "David Rutter"

if he is right or not is not the point, in fact that sounds just arrogant and not like a fair competitive opponent.

imagine Rutter says: "the last 8 years Konami ruined there game and dont get their shit together, thats why we sold 20 times more games than konami.

thts right too, but not the business way to talk about.

and iam sorry but i dont have played PES2015 until now so i dont know if "the king is back" maybe konami fail at release, maybe the online mode is useless at release.... who knows?

if i remember 1 year ago PES2014 Version 1.0 on PC was the biggest crap ive ever spent 40€ for...

Adam and Konami are in absolutely no position to throw insults considering the absolute garbage they have served up the past how many years?

The videos for PES so far have been all ping pong passing and lobbed through balls.

Couldn´t agree more! Good post!

Interesting what you say about FIFA on the PS4.
Played FIFA 14 on the PS3 with a view mates, but didn´t really get thrilled.
They told me that FIFA 14 on the PS4 would be a whole different game, much better etc.
Never tried it myself, but interesting reading your experience.

no its not.

the way is the goal !! its about moments and emotion.

ive played 0:0 games that are absolut brilliant and you can play a 5:5 game with brainless trough running.

no,

iam happy if i play a game with brilliant combinations, awesome safes and great moments, even it end up 0:0.

we are talking about football gaming not real football right??

how many real life seasons do u see where every match ends up with 5:6, 13:2 or 7:7 ???

There is a way to get your point accross. Saying FIFA targets the casual gamer, while PES targets the hardcore football fan is a better more professional way of saying it. Rather than ping pong passing, etc

Don't hammer FIFA, it makes the PES team look amateurish

But I'd routinely see ping pong passing in PES 2012, 2013, 2014? Even 2011 had a fair amount of it. You just see it less often in PES because speed merchants meant there was no need to bother with things like passing.

I agree!

Often managed to play the most beautiful combinations, took a shot but nearly missed the goal or hit the post.

But still it´s been fun, even then when you put your emotions into it.

PES2015 is all about scoring goals from the videos I've seen.

Lots of goals.

Couldn´t that be intended? For a demo I mean.

Just imagining a demo with such a strong AI that barely lets you score.
All those kids out there wouldn´t like that probably.

Also, who knows what difficulty was set on these vids?

I think what they meant and maybe it wasn't as well communicated was that they admired Fifa for its ping pong passing and worked hard the last few years to implement that feature in PES as well, and now they are confident they have reached a level where they can come out and tell about it.

Look at the videos, I think they are right.

Konami PR only talks bullsh*t. He will never learn the word RESPECT for the client, for the consumer and for the other company that puts Konami to shame the last 7 years. He only wants protagonism.

That said, i thing we are seeing many goals because people don´t learn yet how to defend.

But i still have some worries in some aspects the keepers animations and stretching attempts, that look bad and effortless, the huge gaps between players and between lines ( at least the defense line this year does not seem to be always close to the midfield like last year bringing that awful long trough ball play all the way to the strikers), and the fact that the free-kick system and PK system remain the same as last year which was a retarded change in a thing that worked very well in all the past PES.

I just want to play it now to remove all the doubts i still have, and the i will be able to make a review of mine. I´m not swallowing that if i find something wrong that will be game breaking, it will be fixed till the retail version, it just wont happen, nonetheless it will be worst, like happened the past years. And to be honest i just hope they don´t give a shit to feedback from people that will play the demo, and just stick to their own vision with the feedback they already have now, otherwise kids will ruin whats being well constructed till now.

But i´m confident that at least we will have a polished less flawed game, with enjoyable gameplay, lets hope enjoyable and playable online, because i get tired of playing against CPU, and with the little time hi have nowadays to play, i just want a competitive game against somebody who plays fair, exploiting or not the bugs of the game, as long as they cant cause lag and purpose disconnections without the proper punishment ( make it for ping latency or something else, a way that they know who´s jamming the connection and gave them a loss, it can maybe sometimes be unfair because of problems or congestion with your ISP but the majority of times the disconnected person will be the right one)i´m all for it.

Well Konami PR was never the best. But insulting a competitor is a big no no. Especially if your product was crap compared to them for the last couple of years.
Also the slogan "the pitch is ours" is of course completely out of place for a company that served us a shameful product the last gen.
But who cares, as long as they deliver with pes 2015 i am not complaining! :D
