The offending line wasn't said by Adam Bhatti, it was Klaus Garner who said it, and if i'm not mistaken, Garner is a former member of EA's FIFA development team. So maybe he knows what he's talking about.
In fact i partly agree with him. Calling FIFA ping pong is grossly exagerated, but he has a point.
I will try to explain myself. Until the first PS3 PES, i never played FIFA. I started buying it around FIFA10 and i liked it. I bought it because PS3 PES games were a huge disappointment to me (except for 11 and 2014 wich i both liked despite their flaws).
And yes, FIFA treats us more like cutomers, they offer us a very decent end product without major flaws, whereas Konami is making a shambles of the franchise.
Yet for all the bad things, when i play PES, i have to think like being on a football pitch, i never had that sensation with FIFA...never...
I bought the latest FIFA for PS4 and really liked it, so i started ti play it quite alot and after a while all the matches seemed very similar to me...it's not that i'm too good for the game (not at all), but it seems so repetitive to me...i don't have that with PES.
The only negative thing (and that is a big negative point) is that since PES2011, i've lost the fantastic thrill after scoring a goal...that is gone...i hope this will come back in PES2015... and then i don't mind if it's a litle bit arcadey...
I started this post about Bhatti and Garner. IMO Garner somewhere is right in what he says about FIFA, but it is not the smartest thing to do...this is very motivating for the FIFA development team...
