PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

:CONFUSE: It's sound like " All Serbian are the same " . That's Kinda Racist

Just kidding :P

Hahah! Me racist? Noooo...I am far from that bro :). Although I do think Masuda and Kojima do look alike, in fact at one point I thought they were twins or something. :SMUG:
But that is not racist is it?

looks good. I hope defending is an art and not just " bad implemented" and I think the goalkeepers could be slightly better or atleast have some added animations.

Defending is important, it will be a solution for people who play agains people who just want to spam "pass". By implementeing a deeper design for defending you can tackle these issues.

Compared to E3 I am actually intersted in the game. that's a first in many years.

It's tricky. Some of you talk about realistic gameplay while some of you talk about fun. Sometimes the two just don't go along. How many matches do we watch every week that are really boring? Personally, several. Different leagues. Out of 10, probably 2 are exciting.

So it's really hard for either Konami or EA to achieve a realistic yet fun gameplay experience. That's why you either see ping-pong passing style or individual strides based on sprinting with players like Neymar or box-to-box action where there's really little-to-no battle or erratic passing from both sides.

It's all personal and it's all about what YOU prefer. Balacing realistic gameplay with fun it's almost impossible. I bet most of you wouldn't bare to have a game where you only get to shoot at goal 2 times in the whole match, just 2 scoring chances in 10, 15 or 20 minute matches. It would bore the hell out of you.

This is very true, it's a difficult balancing act that both games must struggle with. (Though I take issue with the insinuation that realism would equate with every game playing out to a low scoring bore.)

That said, it's a bit confusing in here at the moment, with people salivating over gameplay vids that exhibit so much of what people in here annually lambast FIFA for.

So what is it, are people more interested in an arcade-type game that celebrates and promotes the sensational side of football, or one that emphasises the fundamentals, depth, and challenges of the game?

Looks to me (at least based off these pre-released gameplay vids, which is to say both games might play out quite differently once in our own hands) like both games are heavily skewed toward the former, which is unfortunate for me because while I enjoy the sensationalism, I personally enjoy the latter type of game equally if not more so.

that video single handedly made me want to buy the game!
i dont have a ps4 at the moment, i hope the ps3 version is as good as this :/

OMG that looked incredible! Keepers did look amazing. People nit picking on that shit are crazy! All though i deepley respect klashman so i will have to wait and see too! But im sure tactics and patches will fix those issues! I hope to god the PC version is the same bar the graphics!

Fun in the video game context is not necessarily the same as football entertainment/spectacle, though, is it?

Because a lot of what makes a game fun are the interactive elements. How the players feel to control, how it feels to move the ball around the pitch. How well balanced everything is and free of frustrating faults/interruptions. How much variety you feel you can anticipate. How engaged you are by the moment to moment gameplay.

Nail those things and it will probably be enjoyable to play, whether there's loads of goalmouth action or little.

Couldn't agree more. Breaking down a tough defense, midfield battles, keeping a clean sheet... these can be fun, depending upon how the mechanics are implemented.

Meanwhile, tons of goals, tricks, sensational goals, exciting play... these can become mundane when they become common and easy to achieve. Unfortunately both games seem to be heading down this route a bit too much imo.

I totally get what you're saying but these days it seems to be more about instant fun and whats going to shift the most copies of the game!

How come we never talked about this!!! That menu looks so fucking great compared to current shit that we have.

Edit: Also that glitter/dust u see on the images of league and cup gives me that pes 12 feeling, wen u r playing master league or bal and there is that cut scene to tell u it is the beginning of the league or champs league.

That menu looks so much like the ones that EA uses in their games(EA UFC and FIFA)... but, hell.. does it look good.
Really like it! :BOP:

Its a good thing that the demo lands on 17/9
That way if its great I can cancel my Fifa pre-order and just play the demo until November!

Not a fan of that, really. Less is more when it comes to any menus, as far as I'm concerned. Much prefer this type of thing:

Don't care about menus do be quite honest, but it looks good. Still the best thing on that photo is Copa Sudamericana this year :)

I don't care as much for looks as much as I do speed. Fifa14 NG moves like a fucking ferrari after the initial origin sign in.

So far the load times on the demo vids have been okay but so too long imo considering it's next gen

That is classic, it is what they call the holly grail or the grandady of all footy menus :).

But I wouldnt be happy if that is what they went for and not something new.

they stole it from albiore! plagiarism!!!

In these two videos you can clearly see what I was telling you. Players still carry the ball awfully when NOT sprinting. The very same moves as in PES 2014. Exactly the same. Stuttery. Like one of their legs was litteraly pinned down to the ground.

The rest: Sprinting, passing, shooting, running, tricks, etc... feels fluid and solid. Awesomeness. But when you have the ball and you're not holding down the sprint button, it looks (and I'm sure it also FEELS) bad. Terribly bad.

Yea, they do look a bit awkward in that situation. On a different note, Nigel Dejong looks like a beast in that first video. Almost like a black Kratos.

I hope not. Well, from the other 60 fps video. Slow dribbling just looks fine, at least an improvement from PES 2014. We'll see though..
