PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

Dutch preview after playing the gamescon code: http://nl.ign.com/pro-evolution-soccer-2015/70361/preview/pes-2015-preview

Overall he was positive but did encounter a few concerns:

- The reviewer finds attacking a bit overpowered compared to defending, which seems to be more difficult compared to previous versions.
- This is especially true because the high trough ball via the middle seems to be an all too easy way to put your attacker one on one with the keeper. The reviewer is concerned this may lead to exploits. Meanwhile, he finds attacking via the sides to be less effective, thus some balancing is needed here. He do notes the AI is surprisingly good when it comes to positioning.
- There still is the occasional 'frozen' player who seems to be stuck in an animation after performing an action.
- Responsiveness is much better then 2014 but can still be improved.
- He does point out that player positioning and passing skills are important factors for better control. Some tweaking is needed here because he had some troubles with players who saw the ball bounce of their feet in an unrealistic way.

Translation of his closing thoughts:

"PES2015 puts my worried mind to rest, but the developers still have some work to do in the coming months. The final game may even be a little more responsive for my taste and the sweet spot concerning timing and positioning still has to found. Also, the balance between attacking and defending still needs work. If those points will be fixed then thankfully we will have a worthy Pro Evo this year."

Balance between attack and defence will be extremely important online

Here we go. I will just divide the report into negatives and positives. Any questions afterwards will be replied to in the best of ways :)
- gfx didn't seem next gen
- turns and one touch passes are too easy and a tad unrealistic
- fast players are too fast
- defending is not physical enough

+ great flow no stuttering
+ atmosphere seems improved
+ any thing Can happen. A defender tried to Block a shot of mine, the shot deviated hitting the post.
+ animations are fluid and make for a great game of football.

Long time since I enjoyed PES this much.

1.What about keepers animations?

2. Did You play Fifa15? What is a difference between Pes and Fifa in graphics?

3. Shooting? Like in pes 5-6?

4. What about transition of animations on wide camera?

5. What about collision?

6. What about ball physics?

1. Utter shite in 60% of the time. The otter 40 they make up with one handed saves or intelligent 1 on 1 situations. Still Needs work.
2.Yes i did. And liked it for the first time ever. Pes looks life like but Needs polishing
3.Yep had a blast
4. Didn't try or noticed
5. Better then 14 but had some player freezing
6. Much better Ball is free but also made for a lot of misunderstandings

I still think konami are yet to impress me with the graphics on any platform ps4 nonetheless. I have not been wowed by any graphics i have seen it doesnt look nextgen to me. The player models are very good dont get me wrong but the pitch lighting stadiums and grass as well as the nets just look like a slight upgrade for me.

Sorry but i do not see pes beating nba2k graphically, Hell i even thing fifa 15 has better lighting, pitch, grass and nets but totally horrible player models and i am being very honest having watched all the 1080p videos i can find. They really need to work on the general look of the game, I still think fifa 15 as much as i hate to say this looks better overall

what difficulty u played on?

Game is way better then 14 IMO, fifa has a better package PES more soul and pes still has time for polishing glitch removal etc

Thanks for the feedback FreMM. :)

1- Can defenders use physicality to stop/slow faster players or they simple can't impose themselfs? And thus creating a unbalanced game?

2- Is too easy to score? Shooting too overpowered?

3- Is the through ball in the middle to easy to exploit like other reviewers have said?

Twitter going crazy particularly one FIFA fan @terrencedware that mentioned how good it is

"best way describing it is, it's a thinking man's football game. So smooth and it flows like a football game should #PES2015"

"I think that is enough about #PES2015 for now. It's really REALLY good. Best footie game in a long time.

Ok no more PES tweets"

1. Option nr 2. Needs tweaking.
2. No just a bout right altough shooting from odd angles did surprise the keeper too often
3. On prof no regular yes

Watching this video:

http://au.ign.com/videos/2014/08/15/pes-2015-holland-vs-brazil-full-match-gamescom-2014

I'm happy with

- Ball physics, really good.
- Animation variation, i liking what i'm seeing, free kicks/dead balls need work though.
- Collisions, looking good.
- Graphics, looking wonderful.
- All round game mechanics, well done.
- Individuality, It's really good, players really stand out, great job konami.

Overall it's looking a quality game.

I'm unhappy with

- Formations and tactics.

You can see in the video this is growing badly on me, the players seem to be way too far apart, all the time, teammates aren't helping themselves out enough off the ball, yeah it maybe set to regular but the main issue is the tactics seem very basic, there seems to be little to no difference whatosever in each teams setup. We aren't seeing many if any good nice, flowing passing moves and there seems to be little to no reason to use the L2 manual pass or through ball when gaps appears, gaps seem to be everywhere.

The game seems to have lost it's dynamic formations like in the era from 2011-2013. Formations seem so, so rigid, hence some of the FIFA comparisons.

This is what is remind me so much of PES6, without the defence camping in it's own area. At the moment i'm sure i'll enjoy this game but it's not what i thought it would be, i'm not concerned too much since the masses want PES6 HD and not PES 2013 on a better engine.

I think i will end up still playing PES 2013 again along with 2015 this year probably side by side.

Overall i think Konami still have done and are doing a really good job this year, shame about the PC nonsense letting things down

Front that video I would say it needs tightening up. Slowed slightly and less space and more aggressive defending and tacking

Not sure if it's just the players controlling the game, but shooting looked weak. The players did look poor, you could see forward moving I to position for a pass and them not seeing it

Só after PES 2015 being elected as the best sport game at Gamescom, then we can officialy confirm that THE KING IS BACK, baby!!

Nope. At least not yet... I'm just kidding...:SMUG:

Thanks :)

Hope they address the defence

Don't understand why Konami can't make decent keepers. From the vids that I saw, they only make normal saves.

But there's still time to improve them.

Difficult to tell as the one half on Pro I played was 1 VS 1 and not CPU

Thanks.

The good thing is i'm 100% sure it's on regular, i haven't seen a video on pro or higher difficulty yet, which i hope the formations are more dynamic at least.

I think the issue with the players is the sprint mechanism still needs work, on pes 2013 you could tap the sprint button as a effective way to move about the pitch with good control of the ball, it looked natural, on pes 2015 it looks weird, its as if they warp from jogging to sprinting instantly.

I'm not saying it isn't possible for the ball to connect with the bar... all I'm saying it that, regardless of how little strength you put into the chip, header or any shot in general, the ball will bounce. It won't be rolling around on top of it. It will bounce whether you want it to or not!

I stick by my argument. I think it was scripted or a bug. Doesn't seem natural, that's all.
I don't think that will happen a lot. And the ball can roll along the bar like that, it is possible.

It's good to hear these stuff but lets not get overhyped here. There's always a chance to get disapointed in the end.

The best judgement is our own judgment. Roll on the demo (One month to go I guess)

LOL officialpes is the worst official account in gaming, compared to fifa's official account its running joke. You will not still believe that the avatar on officialpes's account still has pes 2014 on it.
There is actually something very wrong with konami as a company
