PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

Nobody will make a slightly just slightly realistic football game, not even 2K.The resources(time/money) involved in creating a simulator game would only be justified by something like 15-20 million copies sold in one year. Also the market for hardcore simulator games is just a niche...

You're perfectly right, this version will probably satisfy a lot of peoples needs. . . . I just felt that they were nearly there with Pes 14 and would have tweaked it properly this year .. .. ..but money talks at the end of the day.

So pes won best sports game at gamescom!!! Good news pes needs this kind of positivity to boost sales

A bit concern after seeing that IGN video. The game seems to direct to my taste. There's no phisicality on defence, no CB's "checking/bumping" the striker to prevent them to get behind them. If this is not address this will make the through spammers very happy (once again). Also barely any pressure on the midfield (although this may related with a lack of familiarity with the new defensive system).

Also the game seemed much more fast than the one that was played by Playstation Access.

GK's don't seem good. Too many rebound goals again (the infamous "PES goal", as me and my friends have call it for years).

IGN video is recorded straight from the console and it's the worst video yet.. the game look like hybrid of fifa 15\pes2014\pes2008.

I agree, the IGN vid is the worst. Looks like the sprint button was pressed all the time.
It's not always the fault of the maker of the movie or from the game. Just put two very good players there and you get a complete different judgement of the game.

I dunno, it looks fun to play, but players look too... light.

Wondering about momentum and individuality.

individuality is only there as a visual thing.. and momentum was great in pes14 but now they prefer to listen for Fifa fans instead listen to the hard core pes fan.

It does look a little like FIFA, that's true but it certainly isn't playing anything like FIFA.

It's clearly has a lot of personality to it, players are all moving differently unlike in FIFA where everyone seems to be the same, everyone moves the same, dribbles the same, shoots the same, this is FIFA 15, just looks like a slower version of 2014 with all the same flaws.

I see where people are coming from but it's not a FIFA copy, i'd say it's PES 6 HD on 360 degree's.

Infact I am starting to think by going all the way back to PES 6 is causing the problems here with animations, they seem to be trying hard to preserve space between players like in the older games. PES 2013 looked smoother a times in terms of movement, not nearly as good in terms of engine and animations, one issue is the spiriting doesn't look great here, players go from jog to sprint a little too quickly and it looks weird, much like PES 2014.

PES 2013 had the best system for this type of movement.

@ Tinker mate, i'm really not happy with these tactics, it's far to vague to have 3 thresholds for values like offside trap and player positioning. The sliders where important to emphasize how much a team would play towards a style. This is my biggest worry, players seem so, so far apart like in PES 6, seems too basic for me.

For example, Barcelona, Swansea, Ajax, Arsenal, Villarreal, Benfica, Manchester City, Tottenham.

All play possession based football, however the 1-20 values and the 14-20 shows how extreme each team would stick to their tactic:

So you would have Barcelona at 20, Swansea at 20-18 (2012) Ajax at 19, Arsenal at 18-16, same with Villarreal and then Spurs and Benfica at say 14, they play possession football but it's not as strict compared to Barcelona, they can vary it up.

If you just have 3 values, you will have little difference between teams like Barcelona and Benfica which is just wrong. That is what i fear.

i dont get u guys, when u dont like something, is it FIFA then? and u havent even played it all. that 90degree turn on full speed was realistic in PES 2014? getouttaeere

Never mentioned FIFA, in fact don't think it looks anything like it. And players surely "look" completely different from each other (even in movement) but I'm yet to see a massive difference in speed and agility. Thinking it must be related to the players sense of weight.

Best Sports Game = PES 2015

no he mean unrealistic plays movement and turns

Well, I have not to date played a footy game, modded or otherwise, that is realistic in that aspect. It's either too slow, too fast or too uncontrollable.

My main concern is if the game has depth and is fun as it will never in a million years be realistic. Not even PES2045 Ultra Edition.

Whats up with the celebrations? They seem so unnatural, as soon as someone scores all his teammates disappear and he runs off like a lunatic on his own?

What happened to the old system where all the celebrations where preloaded ingame and your teammates didn't just disappear once you scored. Looks bizarre.
