PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

The players move like shrimps. It's next gen and they still haven't fixed proper running styles.. Who said the player models were the best yet? They look like couch potatoes.. Better than Pes 2014 for sure but the movement is too similar. The models are better than Fifa but the running styles are still very unnatural. They also still swich between and use their weak foot too much. I doubt the dribbling will be as satisfying as in Pes 2013, but who knows.

The stats system still seems to be the same too but with tenactiy missing. It means one of the most important stat in any sport (acceleration) will also still be missing. Apart from that they seem to have simplified the team tactics too, so it looks like we will have the most dumbed down and Fifa'ish Pes ever. I really hope the stats system isn't fully implemented yet.

Pessimism aside, it's obviously a massive step up from Pes 2014 in gameplay and menus. There is something in the gameplay that gives you that old feeling and I know I'm not alone. If the fun factor really is back, then I'm satisfied. I don't have particularly high expectations anyway.

Best Sports Game = PES 2015

I remember when pes 5 won best graphics on a game along with GTA San Andreas. Those where the days even tho fifa out sold pes, it still won awards and fans heart all over because they put dedication to making a master peice. I hope this pes is the pes that sets up once again a great football game or infact franchise that we forever remember like the golden pes generation of old.

Very good but why did the ball take off [as in, gained speed] once it reached the top corner section of the bar?

Besides, I don't think there's a football on earth that, unless deflated, would be there for that long. It doesn't even bounce, looks as if it was on rails!

Looked fantastic but the physics made it super unrealistic!

Nitpicking too much, don't you think?

have to agree, the ball physics remind me a lot of pes6, doesn't really bounce on longer passes and first touches too

Its a small award but to have FIFA not be the one to take this home to me tells me that the public reception of the game has finally taken a positive turn. Doesn't mean it will be perfect but you get the idea. Thats even evident in these forums. So we are going to be ok I think.

I'm not saying it isn't possible for the ball to connect with the bar... all I'm saying it that, regardless of how little strength you put into the chip, header or any shot in general, the ball will bounce. It won't be rolling around on top of it. It will bounce whether you want it to or not!

I stick by my argument. I think it was scripted or a bug. Doesn't seem natural, that's all.

I've lobed over gk with an over head shot in pes6.

Call it scriptin or whatever, but crazy random moments like these were something defining pes series.

Its great as long as its not seen everyday of coarse. Bicycle kick for every volley in pes2011 used to be annoying tho.

Watching this video:

http://au.ign.com/videos/2014/08/15/pes-2015-holland-vs-brazil-full-match-gamescom-2014

I'm happy with

- Ball physics, really good.
- Animation variation, i liking what i'm seeing, free kicks/dead balls need work though.
- Collisions, looking good.
- Graphics, looking wonderful.
- All round game mechanics, well done.
- Individuality, It's really good, players really stand out, great job konami.

Overall it's looking a quality game.

I'm unhappy with

- Formations and tactics.

You can see in the video this is growing badly on me, the players seem to be way too far apart, all the time, teammates aren't helping themselves out enough off the ball, yeah it maybe set to regular but the main issue is the tactics seem very basic, there seems to be little to no difference whatosever in each teams setup. We aren't seeing many if any good nice, flowing passing moves and there seems to be little to no reason to use the L2 manual pass or through ball when gaps appears, gaps seem to be everywhere.

The game seems to have lost it's dynamic formations like in the era from 2011-2013. Formations seem so, so rigid, hence some of the FIFA comparisons.

This is what is remind me so much of PES6, without the defence camping in it's own area. At the moment i'm sure i'll enjoy this game but it's not what i thought it would be, i'm not concerned too much since the masses want PES6 HD and not PES 2013 on a better engine.

I think i will end up still playing PES 2013 again along with 2015 this year probably side by side.

Overall i think Konami still have done and are doing a really good job this year, shame about the PC nonsense letting things down

Dutch preview after playing the gamescon code: http://nl.ign.com/pro-evolution-soccer-2015/70361/preview/pes-2015-preview

Overall he was positive but did encounter a few concerns:

- The reviewer finds attacking a bit overpowered compared to defending, which seems to be more difficult compared to previous versions.
- This is especially true because the high trough ball via the middle seems to be an all too easy way to put your attacker one on one with the keeper. The reviewer is concerned this may lead to exploits. Meanwhile, he finds attacking via the sides to be less effective, thus some balancing is needed here. He do notes the AI is surprisingly good when it comes to positioning.
- There still is the occasional 'frozen' player who seems to be stuck in an animation after performing an action.
- Responsiveness is much better then 2014 but can still be improved.
- He does point out that player positioning and passing skills are important factors for better control. Some tweaking is needed here because he had some troubles with players who saw the ball bounce of their feet in an unrealistic way.

Translation of his closing thoughts:

"PES2015 puts my worried mind to rest, but the developers still have some work to do in the coming months. The final game may even be a little more responsive for my taste and the sweet spot concerning timing and positioning still has to found. Also, the balance between attacking and defending still needs work. If those points will be fixed then thankfully we will have a worthy Pro Evo this year."

Deco, you bin smokin' some shrubbery? It looks nothin' like FIFA.

It does to me. . . . and plays like it but I'm past talking about it ok? I don't want to ruin it for others who are looking forward to playing it. . .. .it was only an observation!
