Last year, they only care about graphics and they forgot the important problem, is fixing the movements to the players.
That's why they are 4 players stick together in to the middle try to catch the ball.
This remember me alot of girls at school running in circle shooting the same time on a ball like hammers. :SHOCK:
That hurts.
On PES 2010 players are in the right position, and only 1 goes get that ball and other is backwards waiting for this rival.

On this pic they are not doing that, but the newbies girls at school does that only onces.

I don't understand why PES2014 doesn't run properly on consoles, and created limitations such as having no variable weather etc due to hardware limitations. I mean, it's not like there is any evidence of superior AI going on there, and even on PS3 the graphics are very very average, bordering on poor in comparison to other titles running on the same machine.

So why do they claim it's almost too advanced for the console? Because I genuinely can't se anything advanced in it at all. Maybe on PS4 and XBO/PC we'll see some evidence.

They claim what they claim because they arent going to admit the real reason, which is that they have no clue how to optimise an engine.
 
I have recently joined and have a serious problem defending on the xbox (don't we all).

what happens is if im chasing an attacker with a CB and I select that player , he immediately stops for a micro second and then runs at half pace, needless to say attackers normally scores.

Is there a way round this ?

Let me know if I should post somewhere else

Hmmm I´ve never experienced that problem.
Do you play with D-Pad or analogue stick?
When I play with D-Pad, my player sometimes stops abruptely.
That´s why I switched to stick this year.

For player selection:
I select the player I want with L1 + right stick and it works quite well for me.
OFFLINE!

But on online matches L1 + right stick often doesn´t work properly, means I have to retry a few times or hold L1 down extra long and then move the right stick which can be a punishment as it takes too much time.
Must be the connection...
 
its on the xbox and I have this fear I might have changed a setting, it does not happen all the time. Its also a normal controller but its driving me mad.

so my only solution is to not select anyone and wait an see what happens.

This doesn't happen to me much. What does happen a lot is when my defender running back collects the ball and he stops dead when he touches it.
If I'm running back with one defender but switch to someone who is closer, they'll both head for the ball regardless.
-Sometimes when re-selecting my defender won't lock on to the ball (delayed timing issue from the cpu maybe?) and he'll over run the ball as if it's not there.
-The original unselected defender will collect the ball and stop immediately allowing easy pressure from attackers. I'd let this pass if only AI tackling, sorry I meant repetitive fouling, didn't cause your players to act like they've been hit with an electric shock up their ass and go into a Street Fighter stun animation every time to lose possession.
-They get in each others way, sometimes tackling one another:COAT:

Shows a complete lack of user control and AI unawareness.

I don't think anything can be done with your micro pause problem unfortunately. Sucks, but all aspects of player switching in this game is poor at the best of times.
Best you can hope for is the cpu will choose your defender to get the 'magical' speed boost for catch up defending. Or at least make your defenders auto-run speed decent so you can stay within touching distance if he doesn't auto lunge a mile away from the action in an attempt to tackle lol.

The game was truly dreadful, it's the worst PES I have ever played. And that now includes PES 2008. Never, ever again will I touch this piece of shite.

Maybe 1 player v CPU is ok for some, but multiplayer is a joke. The delay makes the game feel soooo sluggish and unresponsive, the balance is pathetic, and the piss poor defensive lines are a shambles.

This is my last ever post on PES 14, I can't even muster up the energy to list all it's faults or even give it the time of day.

I am with jimmy on this, borrowed a friends game for 2 weeks to try .
I cannot believe how bad this game is. It is truly shocking. There appears to be constant lag even offline before your player responds to the buttons you press. Awful so glad I have not bought this.

One good thing tho it's made me appreciate pes 2013 more than I did before.
Konami have some serious work to do and I don't see pes2015 being any better given there recent track record.

But I noticed one thing which is quite a problem, PES lost touch with reality. Stats based? Must have missed this as Ronaldo feels like any other dude out in this game. ;/

There is still catch-up mode in this game (weren't they promising it will be gone by now?). Not intending to use ANY gameplay patches, so basing my view on 1.07 only.

Player switching doesn't work most of the times or selects player you don't want. That is using LB only. Haven't tried the weird combo with right stick (sorry, but can we have player switching on right stick ALONE?). Plus there is still slight delay when PS. Unacceptable as you CAN lose games because of this (that is offline, don't need to tell how much it can influence online play which also incorporates lag).

Colour saturation is what I meant when I said game looks worse than PES2010 in some aspects. There is lack of warm feeling there. I know you can use SweetFX/FXAA to fix it, but this does not help with lazy production in the first place.

Player models and collision system are the best thing here. Meaty tackles do look like they hurt, but the post animation/injury animation is always the same. Come on? Couldn't ADD more animations? Why do all clubs have same medical team? (nitpicking I know, but we are talking about product in AAA price range, so we can nitpick all we want :P).

Goalkeepers, although improved over 1.03 version of the game, are still doing that sit back on my ass animation and are prone to letting in near post goals, when you run down and cut inside. They can parry into own net too. Like said before, only thing to HELP address this issue is to make MO-CAP using PROFESSIONAL footballers at each position. Not some Japanese ninjas... O_O (just how Visual Concepts does this with NBA 2k series, using pro street baller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQVkX1J2eAs).

Stadiums are nice and all, but why can't we have some small stadiums in? D2 teams playing on same grounds as MU/Bayern etc. doesn't look v. pleasing... (not to mention PES stadiums are always full @capacity :P). Hope we can see Stadium Editor back next year as I don't believe in the bad EA prohibited us from use story. Sorry.

In game cameras, we need to be able to zoom out more. Be A Legend camera, can you make similar to FIFA? (one of the best 3rd person camera).

User Interface needs complete overhaul in my book. It is outdated and in 2013 PES Production didn't realize yet that on PC we can use mouse as input to navigate menus...

Football Life/Be A Player two modes which need massive work to be done. Lacking in all sorts of things to keep one occupied.

Can all of the above be fixed for next release? Seriously speaking, no. Knowing KONAMI and PES Production track record for past 7 years I fear that next PES will also be average at best. If they don't abandon Xbox 360 and PS3, it will be even worse :(. No sentiments should be held dear devs.

One may hate other company, but they made leaps on both platforms and KONAMI and PES couldn't take the crown on at least one platform (PC!!!).

Next time, when the rumours start to spread, pre-interviews show up, I won't believe in them in the slightest. Had hopes for so long only for them to get crushed by incompetence of programmers/game designers... (take a lesson from CD Projekt RED - they are unhappy with The Witcher 3 optimization, so they have postponed the release date to the beginning of 2015 - to fix all bad with the game and release the best product possible :D).

That's my stuff over. Is someone still playing this game and enjoying it? Cause this forum has gone silent :LOL:.

Don't let your hopes up, it will be probably announcement of next announcement of when the release date for DP will be...
 
this video of yours show that pes 2014 even with 1.07 update is still dreadful.

only good thing is player motion capture and collision.

and you are right, player ID doesn't work well for most of the players. for me their movement is almost identical.

I play with Real Sociedad and there is definitely individuality.
Griezmann feels different from Canales and Vela also feels totally different.
CF Jesterovic is a good CF, but has not the agility of players like Vela, Griezmann and Canales.
Vela is a good dribbler while Griezmann is a quick player.
Canales is the most complete of all these players, but he is much less in the air (headers) than all the other players i mentioned...
 
There isn't delay in the player switching - the player switching just happens from the point at which you let go of L1, not when you press it. This was the only option, to be fair, given that manual player switching now uses L1 as well as the right stick, and the right stick is used for defending / feints.
 
why would they release on PC? there is no FIFA World Cup 2014 on PC too. is that so simple, business!


btw first nice touch by Konami since the Champions League licence



/and im sure everything can be modded from this into PC aswell, unlike the FIFA WC game/
 
I don't care a bout the mode "world challenge", the DLC look nice, Brazil licence, some great face (Lucas, Bernard) and I hope a great gameplay update.
 
This is a console only update. Gameplay pathces come for all platforms. I guess there is no gameplay patch, at least not related to DLC.

But in real life, Canales isn't a particularly great dribbler or quick. He is an injury prone, poor mans Ozil. Very talented, with great passing skills and vision, but not too quick.
