Kind of in agreement with all the pessimists here, there's just too much wrong with the package overall to enjoy it. I see some nice moments in this year's iteration, I like the build up play etc, but there are areas which leave you completely empty, like the keepers which are borderline game breakers and the worst shooting I reckon in the history of PES. It just leaves a completely ambivalent feel to proceedings.
Matches generally feel samey and that long lost PES feel that everyone harps on about really isn't as prevalent as say last years PES, which I kind of came to like despite some flaws, albeit after a thousand patches.
Bear in mind I haven't touched this for around a month or two which in itself is completely unique, but I then had a game of 20 minutes on a patched PC version of PES 6, and it was a real eye opener. 3/4 yellow cards, a red card and a penalty (of which the animation for the foul looked stunning). I won 2-1, defence was an absolute joy and the game just felt like it had so much variety. Colours more vibrant, crowd noise seemed better and overall atmosphere too.
And the shooting....man....just satisfying. People also go on about the lack of 360 degrees,
but I felt more 'in control' of events on the pitch believe it or not, and felt I could create more if that makes sense. Keepers animations too....just fantastic. CPU kept possession for periods, and passed it backwards and sideways etc.
And I scored this goal with Gerrard, which was contextually superb. Look at the ball's trajectory and where it bounces and the slight dip on the ball. All just much, much better than current gen.

Soo...where do I go from here? I guess play this version (about 10 years old) sporadically until I give 2015 a go. But hope is draining. And this from a die hard who's bought different iterations across all platforms since the PES 2/3 days. Sad times.
