I wish it would go back to the way it used to be.
A tap to keep the shot low
A longer button press for different scale of elevation
Add in the directional aim

+ now we'd have R2 (only if it didn't turn the ball into a balloon in the breeze)

If they sort out the normal shooting there shouldn't need to be an 'advanced' option imo
PS. body balance + positioning was a big part of shooting back on ps2 as well. No excuses really

Yep. As I said the other day, they should not complicate the control scheme to give us more options - options that we did not have before and did not need. Instead they should use body balance and player stats to determine the outcome.

What happened to that quote pre-release that a variety of real life shooting trajectories had been mapped to PES 2014. I call bull on that claim.

I think the shooting is shit because the keepers aren't good enough yet to respond to an variety of different shots. SO the shooting has been restricted. That is what it feels like to me, heavily limited.

I think if they took the restricts off the shooting and allowed it to be as good as 2013 was the goalkeepers would look even worse than they do now.

That could very well be the case. I use advanced shooting and when in the box I can smash the ball into the corners and in off the bar. When outside of the box, the same aimed shot looks like it will go to the same place, yet some how a keeper stood in the centre of the goal can stretch to get any shot as they seem to be pulled towards him.

I don't like the shooting either, but it was even worse on PES2013. That game was unplayable IMO...
And i agree about that patch...there has been a patch in Asia and America, why not in Europe ?

Agreed. Do away with advanced shooting. Fix R2 shooting, which hasn't been any good since PS2 PES. In fact, shooting hasn't really been that good at all since PES 6 now that I think about it.

Then for me both kicks and advanced Passes must be removed beyond the trajectory of free kicks and corner kicks, they should return to free kicks and corners of the PES 2013 system because they were better than this year!!!! :SMUG: :BOP:

Can anybody help brother in law has bought the game for ps3 but he is unable to install data pack 2
It keeps saying file is broken when it try's to install on the ps3.
I know there was a problem for Xbox users at one time. Seems like same problem for ps3
Hope some one can help Many thanks.

Try deleting the data pack in the file on the XMB. Boot up the game and re-download using the option that doesn't say "recommended" next to.

they give the impression as if all the time and effort will be put in 2015 2 make it a great game with these news articles, but 2014 is still here.
where is the data pack 3 and for the xbox community the 1.06 patch, they said this month?

Had a great 30 minute match with pes 2014 last night. I play now with patch 1.04 on xbox360 with all dlcs deleted.
Top player and zerobar.

The interesting thing I found out last night is that the game plays and feels the best when not running while having the ball.

Running is useful when defending and trying to catch up, but while on the ball running is contraproductive and should only be used when having acres if space.

So I just pretended that the run button wouldn't exist when on the ball.

Felt great.:))

"I cannot give details on exactly what we are doing with the UK studio, but they are working on the next project and looking at the needs of the European people. It’s about globalising the franchise, so it is not just being developed by Japanese people.

We know what’s been going wrong with PES, we are working on that. The next version is totally changed. 2014 is a transitional year for the franchise, so expect big things."

Calm down people, just calm the fuck down. I got this

Lol konami are so naive

Not a chance in hell I'm pre-ordering 2015 and I'm going to be very cautious about buying the game at all - I don't want to reward more Konami incompetence with a purchase, and I think as many of us as possible should do the same.

Yeah, for the first time since... I don't know, PES2008, I won't buy it in the pre-order. I don't trust Konami anymore.

They need to create a complete mindblowing demo to try to change my mind. But I don't believe they will be able to do that.

So were 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 also "transitional years for the franchise"? If so it would have been nice for them to tell us that at the time.

Why did it take them SIX YEARS for them to figure out "what's been going wrong with PES"?

I'm sad at the slow lingering death of PES but I'm happy that people are eventually waking up to the fact that you shouldn't buy a game year after year based on wild promises and moonbeams from a company's PR department or because the game used to be good.

Blind loyalty to PES, Konami or anyone else is absolute madness. Not one executive at any company in the world gives a gnats fart about complaints on forums or anything else so long as the cash keeps rolling in.

Try before you buy people or you are only encouraging mediocrity.

Its not blind loyalty. I enjoyed many of tge last few years pes especially pes 2011

Its not been all doom and gloom dont be a drama queen. Lol

Also as a FIFA 14 Ps4 owner I still prefer PES2014 both are flawed though Konami technically and Fifa doesnt play like a football game IMO

Kind of in agreement with all the pessimists here, there's just too much wrong with the package overall to enjoy it. I see some nice moments in this year's iteration, I like the build up play etc, but there are areas which leave you completely empty, like the keepers which are borderline game breakers and the worst shooting I reckon in the history of PES. It just leaves a completely ambivalent feel to proceedings.

Matches generally feel samey and that long lost PES feel that everyone harps on about really isn't as prevalent as say last years PES, which I kind of came to like despite some flaws, albeit after a thousand patches.

Bear in mind I haven't touched this for around a month or two which in itself is completely unique, but I then had a game of 20 minutes on a patched PC version of PES 6, and it was a real eye opener. 3/4 yellow cards, a red card and a penalty (of which the animation for the foul looked stunning). I won 2-1, defence was an absolute joy and the game just felt like it had so much variety. Colours more vibrant, crowd noise seemed better and overall atmosphere too.

And the shooting....man....just satisfying. People also go on about the lack of 360 degrees, but I felt more 'in control' of events on the pitch believe it or not, and felt I could create more if that makes sense. Keepers animations too....just fantastic. CPU kept possession for periods, and passed it backwards and sideways etc.

And I scored this goal with Gerrard, which was contextually superb. Look at the ball's trajectory and where it bounces and the slight dip on the ball. All just much, much better than current gen.

Soo...where do I go from here? I guess play this version (about 10 years old) sporadically until I give 2015 a go. But hope is draining. And this from a die hard who's bought different iterations across all platforms since the PES 2/3 days. Sad times.

Well thats PES2015 truly slagged off and put to bed.

Shall we have a go at pes2016 next! :OOOH:
Nobody has done that, we're just more pessimistic and cautious than usual due to the PES 2014 shambles in addition to the typical shoddy Konami PR as well as their continued incompetence throughout this past generation... Whether that be releasing unfinished/buggy products, not adding expected modern features (11v11 only came this year), pointlessly removing features, adding stupid gimmicky features, the lack of communication regarding patches/updates... The list goes on.

From plenty of past experience, we have more than enough reasons to be distrustful of Konami and think twice before handing over our money to them.

Nobody is saying "PES 2015 sucks, don't buy it" because we can't know if it will be any good until we play a demo (or at least see gameplay).

This is because the Ps2 games were more on rails, players were authomatically attracted to the ball, not so good to see now

Anyway in Pes 2014 sometimes they completely lack awareness, that's completely bad too

I think it would be best for Konami to just shut up and not promise anything and just work silently on a last real good patch for PES 2014 fixing goalkeepers and shooting and then silently work and delivering a much improved Pes 2015, especially improved regarding AI and realtime twotiered stamina/fatigue system...

and let the resulting game speak for itself. A great football game will make itself interesting through mouth to mouth propaganda.
