Ha. Do you know how many times I've tried to score from 25 yards out? Countless. Here's the thing: In reality, a lot of long ranges shots should go high, wide, straight at the keeper, get tipped over etc. There's a distinct disconnect between the shots I take and the keeper's ability to save them. By that I mean, how often do you see a keeper palm the ball over the bar in PES 2014? I've hit absolute screamers that have both pace and dip and the keeper will pluck the ball out of the air as if I gently tossed it to him. I'll then look at the replay of said shot and see that the ball's trajectory was destined for the top corner or even the crossbar, yet the keeper catches the ball with relative ease. Anyone watch the United CL match? Someone took a wicked shot against De Gea and he had to one-hand punch it over the bar. Have fun trying to catch a shot like that.
I'm not the only who has noticed this, either. Quite a few people share the same thoughts. Someone's post from PESGaming forums:
Perhaps it's more doable on Advanced Shooting. I'm curious to see if I have the same results as that poster if I put an outfield player in goal. Like I said in a post a few weeks back, I've scored more back heel goals (6 or so) than I have long range shots (0). I suppose my issues lie more with the keepers than the actual shooting mechanics.
