Hey! Me too Winning Eleven 2014. Loving the game! Only thing is, I'm not able to find any option file for WE 2014.

Few days later, I didn't have any game to play and I missed PES, I went on and got the Digital Version from PSN instead, now the bloody game is glued in my PS3 hard drive I can't stop play it although the issues frustrate me, the only hope I have is to wait for the awaited November patch, if that doesn't solve these issues, I would just give up and go buy the other game as much as I hate its playing on ice like gameplay feeling but at least I will have a near completed game with tons of features.

what bothers me most is that there is no transparency. They should not promise things and then release an unfinsihed game. It's amazing that we know NOTHING about the november patch. We don't even know what they are going to fix. they will relase the patch and use vague words like we fixed "some", "major changes have been made"...etc but nothing concrete. They never have a list of bugs they fix; "goalkeepers position themself much better in corners or in one on one situations".

KONAMI has fallen so low that Adam Bhati needs to open a thread on the WENB forums to ask which faces we want in the game. people actually believing they are going to search the forums and make a list of the faces we want? PES community is that dumb and KONAMI knows this. (it;s KONAMI respsonsiblity to add as much faces to the game, not wait for community feedback)

KONAMI needs videos to adress issues? Does KONAMI even know what football is? You think they would test the game and say: "wait a minute that goalkeepers is not doing what it is suppose to do, it might be a good idea to fix that". but no.

this whole community feedback is a fraud.

p.s before anyone is going to act like a baby...although I find the game pretty good, it has it's issues, what I am talking about is how KONAMI is communicating with the fans. so don't confuse those things please!!

Jumped to FIFA for now and started Career Mode there. At least I have Moddingway patch here + proper squads + formations. Gameplay wise, it's not bad either (much better than demo).

And have got 2 other games I play. CoH 2 and NBA 2k14 -> that one actually takes MOST of my day time. KONAMI should learn from 2k ;).

mate I was going to post this regardless of your post. Last night I setup my 2k14 with the mods and proper sliders and the game is yes, unfinished. The AI trys to go to the hole on every play practically. Playing the pistons in the third qtr they had 40 points in paint out of 48. SLiders dont work out of the box on that game or even custom ones, more needs to be done. My point is, all games are unifinished these days, at least sports ones. I have no doubt PES 2014 will be very playable by mid november, sucks but it will be playable.


I tired fifa and its the same thing that stops me every year. Lack of player individuality, every player feels the same. PES has this pretty good, not best ever in PES, but it is there. The problems I have with PES now are shooting and sometimes delayed reaction from players. They certainly have the best passing engine I have ever seen in a football game, crossing is ace as well.

I am truly hoping the shooting can be fixed, and the reactions of the players. Here is my problem with shooting, aiming. Last years PES had this issue, i think people are just thinking it was great last year. But here is what i remeber from 2013. YOu would shoot from long range and jump out of your seat, but then if you looked at the replay, the ball would go right past the keeper while he sat on his ass and waved a pathetic hand at it. THEY FIXED THAT. So now it seems long range shots dont go in as much because the keepers are better. But now when I try to pick corners, it usually goes out of bounds. There needs to be an in between... And unfortunatley i think PES is now only good on the PC... shame for console users. The 360 version is good, but the mod options are limited and no yair or jenkey gameplay fixes. No doubt PES will come good, I am sure of that.


One more rant. The last patch I installed on PES2013 was one that had all the latest transfers but for some reason I used konami patch 1.0. My mate and I were all gung ho on 1 v 1 local, at first we loved it then we saw the flaws, the players running opposing players out of bounds or off the ball way to easily, the defenders just sitting there and watching the ball go by, etc.. Then i smartly updated to latest konmai patch and jenkey gameplay, HOLLY SHIT, what a difference, those things went away, and the game was playing amazing. I truly hope the same for PES 2014. For me at least I can play vs my mate, drink some beers and have some fun...
 
I notice one thing in both FIFA and PES, AI is not attacking much.

They also tend to do same thing, over and over again (but truth be told FIFA AI is much better this year than it used to be).

We definitely need update in that matter.

No wonder, FEAR AI is still considered to be best in FPS games.

F.E.A.R's AI is very good, and provides a different challenge to most other shooters, but AI in shooters is FAR easier to program than the AI of a sports game - it really isn't comparable.

Very harsh my friend. You need to give the game time and patience. If you play less than 15 mins halves just give it at least 15 mins.

All we also hear is people praising a broken game ... all the time. Just as much as you ignore/accept the flaws of PES 2014 and concentrate on the goods, we also ignore/accept the goods of PES 2014 and concentrate on the bads, why? Because we paid for a full price for a finished game, but we only got an unfinished version.

For the record, I also think this game is brilliant when you take out the crazy unfinished AI and broken shooting. I ALSO can't stop playing the game.

I've started the 15 minutes halves, and also if I see ALL my players hearts blue, I just start and new competition or ML. I admit that was harsh, but if you were there next to me that day I broke the bluray, you could have sue Konami on my behalf :D

No offense but in general if you are giving up 48 points in a quarter you really don't know how to play defense in nba 2k. You can tweak defensive settings pretty heavily - e.g. if you are finding you are getting beaten off screens you can set a high ice and a double team on the roll man or even switch to a zone defense to guard the paint more.

Have you tried bumping up "AI help defense"? this isn't in slider settings but in controller settings. Bump that to 100 if you are still struggling with dribble penetration.


Anyway, your point is valid - even the vaunted 2k series isn't perfect out of the box and generally needs decent rosters at minimum to fully recreate each teams experience on the court.

The only game I've played that is close to perfect out of the box is the MLB The Show series but I ain't american and am not that into baseball, just got it because of rave reviews.


In the end, if you are a sports fanatic and nit pick all the nitty details you will always find flaws. I feel that in PES we generally hit a pretty sweet spot with mods/tactics etc EVENTUALLY. Ultimately a game is made by programmers and football is incredibly difficult to recreate on the virtual pitch.

Completely agree. Consumer feedback in this case is almost entirely pointless otherwise we would have been playing a better product long before now.
 
I might have found a game saver for the GK, not sure yet, need more testing. I edited my GK before starting a Europa League. GK´s have an ability called "offensive GK", wich makes them play like a sweeper. Made the change a played a game on Top Player. The AI didn´t make a high number of chances but as soon as a player got isolated, just when he was close to enter the box my GK made a few steps forward, covering more space. It´s a joy to see and he made great saves too.
Also, moving the defense with the D-pad down the field, makes easier to defend.

Try the GK editing yourselves and test it. I would like to see if everyone has interesting conclusions.

I keep going back to the game after telling myself to leave it Until after the patch.

I can cope with everything except the shooting. After rigging most of my games to take place in only a few stadiums and setting my ps3 to 1080i and having a master league team with nearly all yellow or orange hearts the game play is great, but the lack of goals scored any other way than being through and hitting it one side of a keeper ruins it,

I have the best finishing forward in the game, yet virtually all shots from him tye keeper easily gets. Replace him with a fast player and have him out pace the defender and tap it in is the way to win games.these goals give you no magic feeling
 
I really want to play this game online, but online the game feels broken. the jenkey file fixes night games, stuttering issues, input lag and responsiveness, but it doesnt work online.

Amazing how hobbyists can do more than KONAMI. :D

The patch has to adress these issues, otherwise the game is worthless. If all gets fixed i hope it will also be released on steam.

Which stadiums have you chosen Chimps? Some stadiums seem to speed up the gameplay. I've never had a problem with flickering or slowdown but does 1080i really make a difference? Most people have said it runs better on 720p.

I found shooting to be fine, I could hit whatever type of shot I want. Trouble is the keepers are incapable of saving R2 shots from close range. The ball virtually ALWAYS lifts over him. It's a massive problem that I'm amazed no-one seems to have noticed. It takes away all satisfaction from scoring.

I have to agree with you, playing pes 2014 ON Xbox (offline) is a delight. Sadly ON ps3 (offline or online) it is not.

Which is a shame as i do play a lot online :RANT:

I hope they tidy up the lighting on day games. Played against a mate the other night and he agreed that when the ball goes into the shadows, it becomes an exercise in squinting and hurting your eyes, waiting for the ball to go back into the light...which is probably a bit too strong as well. This is on a calibrated TV as well.

Agreed. I bloody hate the day games for this reason. I've started only playing cup modes to only play at night.
