PES 2014 Discussion Thread

I read this morning that Data Pack 1 for 360 is FINALLY working, nearly a month after release. So, I download it, no problems, and now I get a message saying that the data pack is 'broken'.

Thanks, Konami.

Konami is all over the place... it´s ridiculous.

Why is there no word from them anywhere? Why are they so silent? It makes no sense. Someone should be openly discussing with the public this whole thing. Why is Konami so annoyingly unprofessional?

I don't know how you can't see such a simple difference. Don't call it placebo because you don't get it. It's like some people who can't see the difference between FIFA and PES because they're both football games. Since there's no change log, it's your word against mine. Don't call it placebo just say YOU don't find the difference.

1-bar passing in pre-patch is perfect. 1-bar passing in post-patch is too assisted.

You're such a fanny ;).

Official patch DID NOT EVEN TOUCH ON GAMEPLAY MECHANICS. I can prove it, so can Yair and few other guys around here.

What patch brought is VISUAL stuff and ADDING IN MISSING ONLINE option.

Nothing else was TOUCHED.

So yes, it's pretty much paranoia. Game without patch and with patch PLAYS exactly the same way.

Great question. And where on earth is Bhatti ? Isn't this supposed to be what he does ? I thought he was the voice ?

It seems like only yesterday he was praising 'his game' to high-heaven....

Because training is on regular difficulty,

This is not true, you can change difficulty in training in the settings. I do that all the time, just pick 11 vs 11 put the difficult on Superstar or whatever and see how the game plays, it is just on another level, everything just flows, no slowdown, shooting working fine unlike in any other mode.

What rating did GK get at the end of the game? 8.0 is my guess ;).

The keeper was the man of the match, well guessed.

In fact, people that hate PES 2014 spend so much time slating it, you wonder if this is sort of a mental disorder. Just way too much obsessed.

In my case I wouldn't say hate or obsession, PES is the only game I play, I don't play GTA, I don't Call of Duty, I don't play any other game except PES. I play PES because I like football and PES gives me that experience from the couch, I don't play other games because I don't like them and they give me headaches. So I would expect the only game I play to be enjoyable and not frustrate me.

It's a video game for god's sake!
Do you have a cellphone? can you please drop your cellphone on the floor with all strength that you have, its a phone for god's sake isn't it? Bottom like it's a video game to you, but others are passionate about playing it and it sometimes affect their mood or day.

What platform do you play ?
Here on pc other game modes are as fluent as training. Consoles gets slowdowns from the crowd i guess.

I know it's not supposed to be a laughing matter, but that's some funny shit.

I agree mate, it's actually hilarious. Konami are outdoing themselves here, bringing it to a whole new level.

No word on the issue for weeks, then they announce there is a fix, now their own game informs me that the data pack is broken. What do I do now? It's starting to cross my mind to just sell it to be honest,

No. They play differently. Just say YOU don't see the difference.

I don't see why it's Konami's responsibility to do the transfers, especially when the tools are there for us to do it ourselves.

Yeah, why not. Modders have been completing half the fucking game for years now.

PES: the DIY football game.

I think the fact that Konami is taking so long is a good sign. Pretty confident they'll improve the shooting and heading in the box along with more responsive keepers and better player switching:))

It would be a good sign if Konami hadn't spent the last seven years trying to produce a decent football game.

Adam bhatti just responded to a few people 17 hours ago, so dunno where all this 'silent' accusations come from. Then again all adam bhatti have been answering for all the problems regarding gameplay, online and faces have been "wait for new patch" which has been the same old reply for a few weeks now. Not only have they already apologized on facebook a few while ago; i don't see what konami can do anymore. Some of you guys are complaining for the sake of complaining.

It is pretty evident that Konami deliberately released an unfinished game. I mean they did promise a dlc with gameplay fixes+1000 faces 1 month before launch. It was a risky move; probably pressurised by the higher ups and fifa; it was a horrible move in the end, and now they are paying the price.

Was this meant to be clever? My cell phone cost me 1000 pounds.

Had a great 30 min match playing worldcup in Pes 2014 on xbox360 with zerobar. I noticed though sometimes a little slowdown when the penalty area got crowded.
Nonetheless it was a great experience.I think on 30 mins the pacing and realism feels the best.
It ended 1:0 for me with me playing as morocco against cote divoire. And the goal was a nice strong shot from outside the penalty area.

Anyone wonders why ea never has problems like these? They had the easier headers problem this year but fixed it in a week.

You mean problems like CM not being playable if you're on a PS3 because the menus are so incredibly laggy?

Or that the game has major freezing issues for many people?

Or that through balls are so overpowered that you can score straight off of kickoff with a long lofted through pass?

Or that commentary is a buggy worthless mess?

Or that Creation Centre simply doesn't work for a lot of people, causing the game to crash?

Or that CM has its fair share of bugs and team management menus are laggy?

Or that sprinting on defense is massively overpowered? Or that stamina is completely absent from the game? So too fouls and injuries?

FIFA 14 is a really fun game, maybe the most enjoyable FIFA I've played, but it's got plenty of problems of its own, both technical and in terms of gameplay. And yes EA were responsive with their first patch, but since they've been totally silent and there's no word on future fixes.

It's just a shame that when games in other genres are reaching such peaks that we've still yet to have a football game that is truly worthy of the sport (at least this gen). If it's not gameplay problems then its technical issues, or modes, or online. Fingers crossed that next gen changes that but neither of these two companies deserves the benefit of the doubt at this point. You could probably argue that EA is slightly the more competent of the two, but that's not saying much.

Which is why I keep harping on the same issues again and again.

Which is why I encouraged users to try the training mode properly.

I like this post. Straight to the point.

People getting hysterical haven't seen people like that since pes 2008. Good to know that people acknowledge the issues.

To be fair to him, he's done an active job on Twitter communicating with players. He probably doesn't have an active programming job within konami so all we can expect him to do is pass the issues on.

I read his Twitter daily and believe me, I'm as honest as they get when it comes to slating, I don't hold punches, but he's done decently in acknowledging problems.

He's even aware of the slowdown issues on the PlayStation. But whether konami will be able to fix that depends probably on their communication with him and how much of an issue the coding optimization with regards to slowdown is.

Lol fanboyism should give time in prison, speccially at this level.

Do you know what is ONLINE? I guess not. Because if you play online you play with the default transfers.

By your point of view, if Konami just release a blank disc with PES write on it ( well its not blank but no far from it, a close 60% complete this PES 2014 )you would buy it wouldn´t you?

I can understand that a video game affecting one's moods and there would be some moaning and groaning but what goes on here is crazy.

It's very strange really. Take Rooney10 for example. Every day he comes on here rabble rousing and complaining about the game and the same issues over and over like no one's aware of them but him, and yet he still he keeps playing the game day in and day out. You'd think he'd have the sense to do something else with his life provides him enjoyment until the patch comes out:BRICK:

I'll ignore the childish use of the word fanboy and the immature last sentence, but tell me why Konami has an obligation to do the player transfers after the game is released?

I will put it in bigger words in case you dont see it again , ONLINE

SO by your point of view why should konami spent money in licences? If we have the tools to create the teams froms scratch, then they should just launch their game with 500 hundred teams, with default zombie faces, and with white shirts and shorts in the in the 1º and black shirt snd shorts in the 2º.

Then they will do a line up of 25 mans each team, with numbers in their names, keeper is "1" right sideback "2" etc etc... and stats all the same and everyone would spend 1 month creating the game like they want it, just because we have the TOOLS

I personally think they have an obligation because the transfers weren't remotely up to date from the time the game was released. We're not talking about transfers that have gone ahead since the game went on sale, they still hadn't done a lot of transfers from the summer.

Konami really should care about these things. A sports title where a huge number of the players represented in the game aren't playing for their respective clubs is simply against what's come to be expected as the industry standard. Accuracy is everything for sports fans and Konami don't seem to understand this. They can't sit back on the excuse of not having licences etc like they usually do, player rosters are entirely within their remit to be able to do, and they consistently screw it up.
