Don't want to get my hopes sky high this time. The last time I said the same thing going PS2 > PS3 and look what happened.

Let us enjoy 2014 first, then see how next-gen goes.

But it's far from being the same case mate. PES 2015 will be the current engine with it's power "unleashed", there's not a lot of ways you can go wrong.

it always did, but "the king is back" was used up so many times before and they didn't deliver so i think we should stay positive but not over do it.

thats because of a not having full analogue control over movements. i.e right now it is "slow jog, fast jog, sprint" with no inbetweens, when it should be "how hard you push the stick = how fast the player moves.

imagine being a winger and gently nudging the analogue stick towards the defender -- tippy toeing toward him and pushing him back in the process -- and then the defender moves up slightly and you jerk the analogue forward, bursting past him.

right now you cannot really 'push' the defender back because you cannot control your pacing like this
 
you just described the need for only two speeds, slow and burst? No need really for 80% speed etc. FIFA have it and I thought it would be great, but turned out to be pretty useless since you mostly only need slow, normal and burst.

Edit: What is needed is error on touches, that will sort out all speed issues. Speedy players usually have worse ball controls while full sprint. Too short - have to slow down to gain control, too long, error to the sides etc. Small errors in high speed makes it impossible to run at constant full speed unless you punt it a head and risk that a defender can steal the ball.

This is a wonderful idea. We should all tweet this to Adam for ideas for PES15. This will certainly take the game a huge leap forward. "how hard you push the stick should = how fast the player moves." Brilliant.

Can't agree with that; for me, since Fifa went 'NG' on the PC, the game has been significantly better than the PES equivalents. Now of course, Fifa 14 on PC will be using the same old engine, so PES 14 should be a much better game.
 
the King will be back when KONAMI will introduce an awesome gameplay feature before FIFA. I don't know what it will be but that's the situation.
Pes was king back then because it introduced gameplay and modes way before FIFA. This gen instead KONAMI introduced every new feature after FIFA.
360 control,manual controls,advanced collision system,11vs11

Finally this year they are introducing something first: Emotion and heart, but it's still too little to make PES the football games benchmark.

not sure how you got that from what i said. right now there are 3 speeds i think and this pretty much stops 1v1 battles, because with these preset speeds you cannot nudge a little bit forward to draw players in and then burst away -- defenders know exactly how far these preset movements can go and so adjust accordingly.

it's why in football games we always see wingers doing unrealistic 90degree turns back and forth -- because without subtle movements of speed the winger and defender cannot square off naturally

basically what im saying is there needs to be 360degree movement-depth along with 360degree movement-directions.

We don't really know that much about it - whether it's a gimmick or not all depends on how deeply its implemented. It has the potential to be a gamechanger as far as the atmosphere is concerned.
 
I don't know, I don't personally feel it's that necessary these days when we have contextual burst. It would be nice if they added it in as an optional setting.
 
People that scream "King is back" like crazy should wait for the final product.
No one played the game but some people make statements like Churchill after winning WWII.
 
Pes 2013 sold more than 6 millions copies.

Yeah people are saying more than 6 millions but ı've just looked at vgcharts and it's 1.76 millions.I am really confused because there is huge difference.In my opinion,if 6 mil. is true this is really good for Pes 13 and with upcoming amazing games,they can manage to reach 10 mil. easily..

Are you insinuating that no one has played the game at all? There were so many who did, both at e3 and last week. Not sure where you got that info from. Yes, the certain portions of the public were invited to play, as well as those at E3. Although they were demos, we can take encouragement from the impressions of those who played. Mind you, not those on PES pay list. Most ppl make their judgements based on the demo. Do you want them to make their decision whether to buy the final product based on the final product? Just curious.

Either way I wouldn't read too much into it, if anything the fact Konami fell so far behind EA regardless was excellent for us. It was the kick up the arse they needed to begin the process of creating what is looking like the greatest success of the generation.

1.8 million seems fair. 6 million maybe if you include all the resales of the games after people got fed up with them.
 
I'm usually a cautious and knowing how previous PES were bad I will also be for this in spite of the new engine and promising reports. It's a defense mechanism so I won't get to wound up or hurt by the the potential disappointment, it's a perfectly natural way of reacting tbh.
This is why I'll never be among those who cheer like little girls but at the same I'm won't obtuse and negative from the get go.
 
6 millions is official, they can't fake numbers on financial fiscal year reports
Besides, Pes 2013 is the first selling Latin america videogame in 2012-2013. More than 3 millions copies sold in just Latin America

I'm starting to worry about whether La Liga Argentina will be in the game or not as both things have been claimed as truth.

Lying on your company financial report and to the shareholders? There'll be big repercussion. No point for desperately spin this figures. Beside taken from company financial report automatically make it more credible than dubious source such as vgchartz.

Anyway, 6 millions were the sales for all platform on all region combined. So it wasn't that bad nor really that good.

6 million is very realistic worldwide, there are many markets where PES sells well, like Southamerica, Spain, Italy, Asia...

vgzcharts doesn't measure them all.

And the reason for this is simple: Licences! Wherever Konami was able to licence the local league and national team, PES would sell well, no matter the quality of the gameplay itself.

Licences are what sell football games, first and foremost and then and only then other aspects come into play like online-modes, singleplayer-modes, graphics... and the least aspect that decide sales is gameplay in itself.

Fifa sells much more because of many more licences out of the box, like Bundesliga,EPL... Sure more flowing animation, more and better online-modes also help, but first and foremost imho licences decide.
