That look terrific:))

Hate to be a party pooper here guys, but looking at the gameplay trailers (albeit it's not finished etc etc) but the game still seems too fast too arcade. It still looks like it's too easy to just go forward too and controlling the ball and moving in one movement still seems too fluid and easy.

Anyone want to comment on this? Have high hopes for it this year that's all?!?

Well in the gameplay trailer, they were never gonna show slow passing build-up no ? Maybe you meant gameplay videos and not the trailer.
In any way, most report say the game is slow, we'll never know for sure until the demo

Too fast? Compare it to a real match - the pace is spot on. If people complain about the pace, it'll end up being made too damn slow! Besides, the AI is so obviously on a very low level so of course it's easy to get forwards...

Absolutely not worried about this. Not a single preview or impression talked about the game being too arcade or too fast. Instead, someone complained about the pace of the game being too slow

Which is why people should be quiet about this otherwise we'll end up with a slow motion football game. The pace looks spot on to me.

Appreciate the responses. The point I'm making is that in real games (most) players may accelerate into space but slow down just as quickly for the fear of losing possession/mis-controllling and then having to pass back because they have stormed ahead. The older PES games for example had this down to a tee because the players had weight and acceleration/deceleration.

I hope this is so in the new game.

I purposefully this year have kept clear of anything PES, I want to be surprised and get all the feedback at the last minute.

But if the feedback says it's slower more deliberate then that is great news.

I don't know if this has been brought up yet. But a major problem in PES 13 was lack of offside awareness: The attackers constantly run offside and their markers often keep tracking, blowing the offside trap. This really breaks the game. You would have the ball just outside the box, looking to release your forward or wingers with a through pass, and they are already on the six yard box! This just doesn't happen in football. In the vid here, 3:54 to 4:04 show exactly what I'm talking about.

If Konami doesn't fix this for yet another year I just can't bring myself to buy the game. This is a game-breaking flaw for me. It kills any chance of playing a realistic offense.

I see right now three areas of concern for PES 2014:

1. Visual cues not being all switchable. Imho the less visual cues the better, I don't want signs popping up on the pitch trying to help me, like those freekick-lines or throughpass-helplines or manual directions. Awful stuff and I hope it's not there in the final game or at least completely off-switcheable.

2. Player-models not having the right size-proportions: Seeing Pirlo that big compared to the others gives me a bad feeling.

3. The early demo: Probably we will get one in August and that's imho very bad news. First it will contain non-final code, it will be 5 or 10 minutes in exhibition match and therefore not really representing the game, and most concerning it is a lot of time between the demo-release and the final game, about two months. Enough time to seduce the developers to make last-minute-changes to the game based on the premature feedback on the demo.

nice pictures
that new Windsor office is so good but a little empty. I still think some european developers could be a great addition to Pes Team

Feel the same. I hope the pace on 0 has been slowed down from previous PES games and is more considered. Fingers crossed it's just Youtube that's making those gameplay trailers seem a bit fast and arcadey.

Nope, its same.I checked where shadows are,and they are same position as before (long time ago pic).

Hmmm. I'm expecting at least something similar to Fifa, where the shadow's in a different place depending upon kick off time. I hope they haven't gone down the route of one set sun placement for any particular stadium! Hopefully all the shots were taken from the same match.

There is room for improvement in off the ball AI for attackers as games progress.

Don't always relying on the direct through ball, you can always find openings by adapting and looking for an alternative route if the Striker or attack ha mistimed his run.

If the attackers where perfect with their runs all the time, people would complain the game is easy. Especially the way your describing the issue, its as if your doing the same attack over and over.

Balance! Remember!

But thats not dynamic weather :) Its just for kick off.But i would like that, its great in Fifa.
Dynamic weather is like starting match with afternoon, and finish under night lights :)

Whether There is one sun placement or not, the lighting is awesome.

No argument there! Best football game lighting I've ever seen.

I know. 'Static' dynamic weather would do me, so a match starts in the afternoon with the floods on, and it's dark by the second half - proper 'dynamic' weather might not work with a football game, unless they can find a way to scale it to the shorter matches. The last thing we want is the sun racing across the sky, eh? :)

You're missing the point. I'm not saying I want to play through balls all the time! I'm saying it's not realistic when your attackers constantly run ten yards past the offside trap, often carrying their marker with them.

Look at the video I posted. That does NOT happen in football. In real life, attackers are mindful of the offside line and when they're caught they try to jump back onside instead of running all the way to the goalmouth. And the defenders are also aware of the defense line and don't just keep running with their marker to the corner flag when they see the other defenders trying to hold a line. When attackers are caught offside it's because the defenders executed the trap well or the forward mistimed his run ... not because he just put his head down and kept running toward the adboards!

This isn't about "balance". This is a lack of positional awareness for AI and we tried for months in the modding thread to come up with patches to fix it.
