Guess I saw it wrong.
Just checked some gameplay videos of patch 1.10 on the PS3 and the animations looked good.

Strange...

It may have to do with refresh rates on different televisions and settings

I noticed on my plasma screen 600hz the game is seamless and transitions between animations look almost too fluent but an LED refresh rate is around 200hz the game looks less fluent and a little stuttery between animations which I prefer tbh.

The defensive ai for and against is so much improved I am playing top player against the likes of Arsenal with the default ml defenders and slipped them 3-1 in the FA cup final whilst I annihilated Norwich 4-0. For my pains I got just over £2mil thanks Konami you cheapskates

Also won championship and promoted bagged me The same amount of cash. Such a joke, can't build my said and qualified for Europa with a practically default ML team. Crystal Palace got relegated and are offering me a decent team with ₤10m shopping kitty and a better squad. This can't be right

Goal conceded when it came straight at keeper. There goes my hope they made the patch right or that they even tried.

Roll on PES 2015...

Yes was talking about ML and League Mode. I simply haven't experienced any injuries. Haven't played patch 1.10, because i'm on PC and it wasn't released yet. Just wanna ear some feedback on the topic of injuries, if possible.

Unfortunately the only injuries I've seen have been online, as there doesn't seem to be a referee in mlo games. It's a new cheap play tactic, anything goes. I won't be surprised to see my players getting shived at some point. Violence galore.
Ive actually seen the worst injury so far +it was in mlo. About the 80th min my striker got cut down and had to stay off.

Offline I just pretend that purple arrow players have minor injuries.

Nice video. Camera angle in it is similar to what I use when playing the game. Very immersive.

Anyone know if its possible to play the world challenge without the qualifications? I just wanna play the world cup.

This game is not about learning to play the game on patience or improve on your dexterity, reflex skills or tactical mind.

Behind the facade of bull-shitting "simulation" there are cunning and sadistic scripting choreographic events to make it looking like You have the control but in fact You don't.

This game is a master of masquerade, smoke-screen, deception.

The AI of your team mates are deliberately programmed to fail. Do You realize that most of your conceded goal is always initiated when one of your AI team mate suddenly stops in his run to the ball or upon being selected or running away from the ball at the most critical moment, being pushed out of his path by an invisible scripted event, being carried backwards a quarter of the field length by an opponent striker barging into him, by suddenly tumbling, while jumping like a ballerina performing a pirouette when an opponent just at brushed past him (no collision needed).

When You are 1 or 2 goals over your opponent, suddenly one small rebound from the foot of your player jumps impossibly a long distance to an opponent nearby and he will score.

It is always the unnatural, laborious, stubborn, skewed, out of their way ball behaviors and exaggerated ball rebounds that results in your conceding.

When You are 1 or 2 goals over your opponent, one simple short pass to your team mate suddenly went out of its way, as if magnetized into the foot of a striker conveniently nearby.

Do you realize that your defenders are programmed to always tuck themselves behind the opponent strikers at any through pass, tipping tapping like drunken monkeys behind him and You can not do anything if this animation triggered, only at the moment when he strike that You have a semblance of control back. But it is already too late...

Your player has the tendency to run straight into the path of an opponent defender after receiving a pass, suddenly stop after receiving a pass, become dazed, confused after the slightest tackle and bumped by opponent. When he runs, he was tipping-tapping like a dancer without any care about the urgency around him and controlling him is such a chores, that it is always a bust-a-gut effort. The whole game is a constant frustrating struggling with your controlled player's incompetence and his illogical wayward behavior and his determination to stuff-up at the most simple task or responses.

Your controlled player and your AI teammate or even the ball always WAITS, PAUSES, DELAYS its natural course, trajectory and response, until the game deems your opponent regain upper hand control, then the game will let your input into play or the game will re-trigger AI of your team mate.

The ball followed a hybrid of law in this game: Simulated physics dictated by game script and cheating built-in mechanism.

The ball physics has been tinkered with to give it an unnatural helpful bounce to your opponent no matter what angle or how accurate is your tackle. It seems that the collision/momentum system just makes the ball drop/snap to the opposition, defying the laws of physics.

The ball has its own AI script built in, to speed up, slow down, delay its rolling speed, changing abruptly its trajectories, avoiding a player, seeking a player, constantly magnetized/ sticking to one's feet, the ball is playing the favorite throughout the game, just like the pre-programmed to be bias and corrupted referee.

The input of your game controller is delayed, ignored, altered at will. That's why You have no chance to response when pressured by your opponents.
Every of your simple pass becomes wayward, erroneous, laborious, You always have to struggle, to wrestle with your controller to control your player.

You always have this constant frustrating infuriating feeling that You know a certain event was gonna happen but totally powerless to prevent it and this frustration is wearing you down as it gets on your nerve CONSTANTLY, annoyingly, arrogantly, blatantly (your team mate will always screw up, no matter how careful, how dexterous adept You are).

The summary of playing this game is You chase the elusive ball around like Willy Coyote chasing the Roadrunner, which in turns snaps into your opponents feet at every opportunity , while being pressured/cornered/barged/pushed/shoved into constantly in a mini-pacman game, then have to wrestle with someone who constantly tries to snatch your controller out of your hands, controlling your player is like having to steer a heavy truck from a rail track when a train constantly rushes into it.

You can psych yourself up and listen to the optimistic masochist in You to just PATIENTLY learn to be adroit, agile, nimble, neat, nimble-fingered, handy, able, capable, talented, skilful, proficient, accomplished, expert, experienced, practised, polished, efficient till you 're blue in the face...The game will wrap you around its fingers, dominate you and railroad you to failure.

This poor excuse of a "sport" game is designed by obnoxious sadists to be played by some "patient" and "willing to learn" masochists, who may randomly enjoy it.

There is no other single game in the market designed with the passion to screw up human player as dedicatedly, fervently and BLATANTLY as this game when it destroying any shred of concept of sport fairness, integrity, ethics and honesty.

It's a masterpiece in showing how arrogant game programmers can deceptively and maliciously screw up/disregard the human player efforts over and over again.

Your skill and experience is not appreciated and honored in this game. You have no trust in game mechanism because there is no integrity and consistency or logics in events unfolding in the match. There is no settled rule to live by in this game. It will screw You up whenever it wanted (it is not only programmed to be triggered at certain time or event in the match, it is programmed to sabotage You constantly in the match).

They say a giving someone a "sporting" chance, but human player has no chance in this poor excuse of a "sport simulation" game.

This is the Call Of Duty of soccer, with rubberbanding, scripted event built in game mechanism.

This is typical JAPANESE SADISTic bust-a-gut-aneurysm-inducing game design philosophy (PES METAL GEAR RISING: RE-VENGEANCE + DARK SOUL: PREPARE TO DIE edition) with bosses that stubbornly refuse to die and ridiculously powerful and when you play the game laboriously with all your fingers aching, bleeding and catching yourself swearing, cussing, on the verge of having a stroke...You ask yourself a question if You are slowly becoming a masochist, you ask yourself if it was worth it?

You should not invest your sporty passion and enthusiasm, your emotional energy, your mental well-being into this treacherous travesty of entertainment.

I have to agree with you, I know people don't like to hear it but the CPU decides when you win or lose.

Let's take an example that is not Pes:
Dark Souls Prepare to die is a japanese sadistic game? NO

Maybe, just maybe, you forgot that a game must challenge you?
That has always been the case since first snes games
Then the western dumbed down difficulty came and now everyone is good with it. But if you ask me that is the death of videogames

Purple prose that doesn't add up to much. Recommend lowering the difficulty level. There's no shame in it.

this PES could be good but still too much wrong with it

I feel like I am playing a 5 year old game at times, its all so dated

Konami shouldnt be allowed to charge full price for this game from the off,

they are conning their customers

I do the same with purple arrow, even if they have full heart :).
Me and a friend, try to play a murderers games offline (5 or so), just tackle after tackle and they were carted off alot of times, no injury, even the players with 1 injury. It's just a shame. I play a couple of months back nba 2k and it's night and day in this aspect. They even get injured in specific spot. Like if they felt on they back or shoulder they get injured there. You can get your whole season derailed because of injuries. It's so nice, make the game so alive and a challenge.
I seldom play online (shitty internet connection + too many people exploiting the game), but at least is good that injuries are there.

Agree, people can´t win games on superstar and keeps saying that the AI is cheating when all they had to do is lower the difficult and admit that they´re not good enough in the game :SMUG:

PES (espacially with 1.10) has many good elements and feel like football. However there are some other staff, like passing system, rails, shooting, GK that make the game looks dated.

I need PES 2015 to fix those things.

They are in the game. I see more online, but if you realise that the majority of all challenges are leg breakers you still only see them once in a blue moon.
Problem is if they fix the injuries, they'll have to fix the referees otherwise games will be cancelled because there would be nobody fit to play by halftime.

I understand it's a balancing issue, but it shows me Konami's lack of focus on the basics. Like when they re-added the catch up defending this year which effects other gameplay mechanics like player stats + individuality.
They've fixed the defending with the patch, which should have been done 1st, but still kept the catch up.

Pes basics like passing, shooting, defending, ai, player individuality, keepers, ML, form, ,game options, match tactics etc. are simply not up to scratch. Some are borderline decent, whilst others are just plain broken or not there.
They instead focus on adding stuff like 'heart', which effects every thing.

ps. remember dynamic 1-2 player runs with the RS last year? I miss those

They need to improve the jostling. I'm tired of being magnetized to a defender when dribbling towards goal and being taken on a completely different path. I haven't played FIFA in months so I don't know if they have a better jostling system but I'm guessing they do. It's even worse when they come up from behind and you come to a complete stand still.

I have to agree with the guy who has Seedorf in his avi, this game needs more than two speeds. You can either sprint or amble. No possibility to quickly jog with the ball like Messi, Xavi and Iniesta do plenty of times a game.

I keep getting the same animation from striking the ball low. The keeper will only choose to stick out his foot to save it.

Finally, I'm guessing this is just the tactics out of the box, but the teams are too aggressive when closing down. Not every team will press all over the pitch, they don't have the stamina for it (of course this is the pill that we choose to swallow on higher difficulties, so I guess I should shut up about it). What should be done is some kind of PES share feature, like on NBA 2K, so I don't have to manually edit some tactics to get Juventus and Barcelona to play realistically, and not have the first thing to do when receiving a pass, to dribble forward. How about some strafing? How about some dribbling away from the goal?

I came back to this game after giving up in PC a few months back. So far it has improved quite a bit (although has some major flaws that still needs attention).

So far I haven't seen heavy scripting, but have just played a few exhibition games (this happened also in PC, where I didnt see scripting, but then in ML the AI would score right after I scored or in the 90th min).
I will try to get in ML soon, so far scripting in WC mode hasn't been noticeable.

The game is enjoyable and in the right direction for Next Gen

I understand the balancing issues since refs are terrible, they don´t recognize most challenges, especially "body checks" with only the left stick - play with smaller or skinny players (Messi, Neymar, etc) is too frustrating the CPU just go against them like bullets and rarely is a fault - and lack of tackling animations (most of them would be straight red), but there should be injuries between matches on ML or League mode (e.g., in training). There’s no conflict there, just make a random simulation based on stats, fatigue, etc.

Most aspects of the game are not fluid, but was to be expected, since is a new engine - although that does not justify releasing the game in the state in which was released. The heart feature does not work well with the form arrows (IMHO the arrows shouldn't be arbitrary between games, should be somewhat cyclic, one period of good form, another one bad form, etc., like real life) and the individual rating system (which was always broken, i cannot for the love of god make sense of it. A player scores a hat-trick, barely miss a pass, run the most km in the team and get a 6.5, and another has one assist and gets 7.0). And plus on the ML even if you 3 games in a row your player will have their heart on orange or red, which makes the game so easy.

The lack of dynamic 1-2 with RS I believe was just a mistake (probably lack of time in development), like the one when you change your CB, the new one does not go for offensive corner-kicks.

You can either sprint or amble. No possibility to quickly jog with the ball like Messi, Xavi and Iniesta do plenty of times a game.

This technically isn't true if you double tap :r1: the player will make an extra sprint with the ball kicked on front. If you play with Messi the ball almost is on his feet. I know is not the same, but there's an "extra speed".

I've lowered the difficulty and I'm not good enough ...my soul is cleansed.

Winning eleven 2014 can be choosen in "english text" so?

That's what the latest video shown, i want someone to confirm, please.
I'm seriously thinking of buying it.

If they sort out the game ratings they could base the upcoming games form from it. Would be nice to have in ML, but tbh they're not likely to change it. Been the same way for years.

'stats and fatigue' - this is the 1st year player stats mean very little imo. Fatigue has always been more heavily effected by form arrows rather than the player stat

You say this now, but please remember my prose when You get angry later playing this infuriating game...

Unless You achieve zen-like state of yoda, then You might not get angry playing PES 2014.:WORSHIP:

Yes it is possible, you can choose jap and also eng ;)

I got the japanese version of WE 2014, with Japan nationalteam on the cover

im soo dissapointed :( im in mid-season negotiations on my ml where the youngsters appear and i see some ridiculous stats. drogba 16 years old has over 90 overall same with juninho p. javier zanetti and many many others, that takes away all the fun and purpose of the master league. i thought konami had fixed that on patch 1.10 but unfortunately that is not the case. this is my biggest dissapointment on this game

That is one of the things that just piss me off. They should not bring the star players as youngsters in the first place.

I don't think is likely also, but should be the way to go, especially considering that we are not in 2005 anymore :).

Stats and fatique are there, it's not noticable like in the previous years, but still play a role, altough I think a lesser role, unfortunately.

They're shouldn't be form arrows. In no way is it realistic. Players don't have better stats on different days, and even if the arrows are in, they should be hidden from us. A manager really can't say rubbish like "Oh he's got a red arrow so let's play him today".

Yeah, I know about the extra sprint, it's always been they're. Problem is there's no medium speed. What Konami really should do is just put the sprint button on the RT/R2 triggers and make them accelerator buttons like on driving games and then you adjust your speed depending on how hard and long you press. Then the play would be less stop-start.

What? No, form definitely should have a part in the game as it does in real life, it's just that it should probably actually make some bloody sense rather than being entirely arbitrary like it's been...forever.

I'm not really that bothered by this thing, but it does strike as really odd that Konami have never adopted a form system that makes sense. Did your striker score in the last game? Give him an orange arrow. Did he score a hattrick? Full Red. Did he not score for a couple of games? Down arrow. Hasn't score all year? Jeez, full down arrow.

Same with midfielders and assists.

Defenders and goals conceded.

Even such a basic idea as this, which took me 20 seconds to work out, would be a vast improvement. There aren't many times when I do think Konami are purely lazy but the form-arrow system is definitely one (the other is the match rating).

And they shouldn't affect every attribute, right? Form affecting touch, shooting/passing/dribbling ability makes sense, but affecting pace or stamina?

What Konami really should do is just put the sprint button on the RT/R2 triggers and make them accelerator buttons like on driving games and then you adjust your speed depending on how hard and long you press. Then the play would be less stop-start.

I disagree completely

If I didn't want form arrows and stat based sprinting or burst I would play Fifa

I think form is needed, but should be less arbitrary. In real life players have peaks of form during the season, so I want that in the form arrows. How can a player have red arrow and the next game have a purple arrow. Just don't make sense.

@Northzzz what you want is there, in the form of heart/motivation, but atm i does not work very well in the form arrow system. Players get more motivation if they score an hat-trick, etc, but is via the heart feature and not from the form arrows.
