It's very possible people are having different experiences based on different difficulty levels.

I've been playing on superstar since this last patch and no win yet.

That is true Lami. I never said what level I play on. Should have stated, the most balanced out there, which should be Pro.

Somehow, they seem to mess this up, GKs are also scaled with difficulty levels (but that was known for long time now).

Hmm, can´t really tell but Pro shouldn´t be that balanced. Top Player should be the way to go to be a bit more realistic. Pro makes some challenge but overall your players are still overpowered.

I'm playing on Top Player and it's pretty balanced I would say.

What I'm having trouble with post-patch is the best settings for pass assists etc. I like one-bar but notice that some simple passes inexplicably get under-hit and get intercepted.

Anyone else find this or have any suggestions on the best set up?

Superstar in Master League offline is absolutely ruthless. Haven't won a match yet. . . have come close but the cpu just manages to inch over the line in front.

The slightest defensive error is punished severely. The most enjoyable PES I've played in years.

Some of the goals have been outstanding passages of football. . . a really great game!

I have just played Barca in my ML, and they are something else. Not only do they pass the ball well, but if they get a chance; they take it!

I can't say I've experienced this.

Yes, I've under hit passes and had passes intercepted, but it's never been inexplicably. I usually know right away that I've under hit a pass.

going to go against the status quo here ut the more I play the new patch the more i dislike the shooting, shots are like missiles. they've gone to the other extreme!

I've been playing this game post patch for a couple of days now...it still has flaws, but i really love it.

Konami should not be proud with what they did, but despite this, to me this is the best football game ever...and this in terms of simulation. If you play PES2014, you have to think like being on a football pitch...

Wow! I haven´t taken a look here for a couple of days and reading all of the mostly positive feedback of the new patch.
I even kinda enjoyed the last patch, but reading about the new improvements gets me real excited.

Im just confused about the "looks like PES 2013 - toned down animations" and "long range shot with EVERY player" argument.
That can´t be, can it?

I really love PES 2014 animations and to me it would be a pity if they have been reduced/toned down, whatever.

And how about the shot power? Improvement is great but hard long range shots with EVERY player? Is that for real?

I can´t try it out as my PS3 has been lent to my brother, but it would be interesting to start a training game and do a long shot with for example Lampard (kicking power 90/right foot) or Gerrard (kicking power 91/right foot) and one with, let´s say Lennon (kicking power 74/right foot) or any other player with a low value on this. Or maybe let them use their weak foots.

If there is no difference and all shots have the same strength then it would be shitty, definetly!

Maybe someone could try that, I can´t do it for the next couple of days, unless the patch comes out for PC in the meantime :)

Probably not gonna happen, but I'd love to see Konami improve the player switching before they close the door on PES 2014.

Concentration has to be high playing Master league offline on Superstar. I actually managed to beat a couple of teams today. . . feel mentally exhausted!

It's times like this I could actually use a pair of magic boots. . . . . only joking!

What option file do you use?

Agreed shooting is now more powerful but atleast every shit is not a guaranteed goal.

Having said this weaker foot, body positioning and balance need to be factored in. Winner of Konami will do this

Okay, here goes, I'm gonna get a hammering, but I tried PES2014 for the second time after downloading it for free from PS Plus. I had the 360 version before.

Right, well, coming back to this having not touched my PS3 since November was quite a shock. I've been on nothing but my PS4 since, playing the likes of FIFA14 and Infamous, Killzone etc. Loading this game up was like stepping back in time, load times were soooo long, 'that' menu system appeared, the awful music and commentators started up, and I was plain shocked at how awful the graphics now seem. Low resolution, pixelated, an absolute mess. This must be the PS3 version because my 360 version certainly never looked this bad.

Anyways, that shock out the way, I still didn't like it. It's much better, but, man, after just 30 minutes of my first game the COM had attempted to do that IRRITATING low pass to the near post three times already, and scored off one of them. That's a deal breaker for me. Also, coming from next gen FIFA, I'm not a fan of how light the players and ball feel in PES2014, there's just no weight to anything. I never thought I'd be saying that about the two games, it was always the other way around.

There are plenty of really good things in PES2014 but not enough, the production and presentation is utterly appalling, it's like going back in time ten years. They have so much to do for PS4 PES. I'm hopeful the game is just limited by the old hardware because there's something missing, it still doesn't feel like old PES used to. I know it's a new engine, but that old feeling just isn't there. Here's hoping PES2015 on next gen and PC can take several steps forward, but in all honesty it's gonna have to take some giant leaps, not least in the way they present their game. The lack of any sense of atmosphere alone in comparison to PS4 FIFA is a real issue.

All that glitters isn't gold. PES 2014 on the 7 year old PS3 plays a better game of football than FIFA 14 on the 5 month old PS4;))

PES 2013 fanatics here thinks the totally opposite: too much weight, to heavy.
For me it's just perfect the way it is. And passing from a game played 5 months to another, from a gen to another, can completely alterate your point of view, making the "most played" game the best football representation for you, because your eyes are your habits (visual, sensations, way of playing).

I talk with experience, totally had this feeling when i passed like months on FIFA then switched on PES and vice versa.
And at the first play, i've noticed a few bad things in both games, then less and less. Same at the second switch (PES to FIFA)
Even if somes where true and evident like engine who's getting old on PES 2011/13 (for exemple), 80% were just pure personnal feeling due to habits, and "used to" gameplay, mechanics.

Well, I disagree, but then we knew that already. Three COM passes low into the near post after just 30 mins game time is just shite. And people said that had been fixed.
