The thing that stands out for me, despite there still being certain niggles in the gameplay post-patch, is just how good the CPU AI is in single player. Different teams play differently and intelligently.
I played a World Cup last night (not the new paid for one) with England and had three very different games in the group stage including a 1-1 with North Korea in which they scored a stunning long range goal and a mad backs-to-the-wall 1-0 victory vs Columbia who played a technically far superior game to me. Just defending a lucky break-away goal was fun.
One issue I have noticed is the ref and the way free kicks are implemented. A couple of times now I have whipped a cross in and either scored or forced a good opportunity, only for play to be pulled back to the wing and a free kick for me for some little contact after the cross came in. Frustrating and costly in a big game.
Otherwise, shooting is better, a bit mad but fun while passing doesn't feel quite as good as it did but is still better than Fifa's system.
