No PS4 and XB1? Strange.

I believe that it could mean that EA is developing a new engine for Fifa 2015.

Look at these features they are listing for the World Cup game:

* New control systems with more responsive dribbling, and pinpoint passing on the agenda. Change direction on and off the ball with purpose

* Adidas ball Physics – we’ve partnered with adidas to deliver the most realistic ball physics system on Xbox 360 and PS3, taking data from the adidas Innovation Lab in Herzogenaurach, Germany, to implement it into the game to give the Brazuca and other adidas balls true-to-life flight and grass friction

If those features are really true, then than could mean that Fifa might emulate the great pinpoint passing and great ball physics PES has always had.

Good point. FIFA does desperately need new ball physics. This is one of the few areas where PES feels much better than FIFA, to me.

I see where you're coming from, but it would be a massive shame if they stopping making it for PC. Besides, the architecture of the PS4 and XBO is pretty much based on PCs anyway so doing a version for that shouldn't take too much time.

But I do think that they are a seemingly small team who spread themselves too thin. In past years we've seen PES on consoles and PC, but also on 3DS, iPhone, PS2 (even PES2014 was released on PS2 recently) and Wii. That's surely a lot of manpower and resources right there?

Yes i guess it is. An no PES 2014 on PS4 and XB1 from the start is another clear sign. And all this missing stuff, missing game modes etc. comes with a reason. They are always running out of time it seems. But it's all about money and less about quality it seems.

With all the problems PES 2014 had, I thought about one of the possible reasons.

We know PES Team has been incompetent, but it's possible Konami left the dev team with barely any resources at mid-development, if other projects like MGS 5 are currently more important to the company? Maybe Kojima asked for more budget for his game, so Konami decided to reallocate resources (less for PES, more for Metal Gear).

Thi isn't an excuse for PES 2014's poor performance, but it could be a motive.

That's actually a respectable theory and i never thought about it like that, i just assumed it was due to the time constraints of realsing a new game engine in under a year. Hence having no faces at launch was a testament to that.

I put the demo on last night for the first time in a while. If they spend a whole lot of time capturing thousands of new animations (as stated on the PES 2011 cover) for various scenarios and for goalkeepers, while unleashing the potential of the ball physics, along with new commentary, the game would be immensely more enjoyable to me.

Enough is enough with the excuses on animations - there are still so many where the body doesn't follow through correctly or players take too many touches and too long to turn. Can't be long before we start hearing about news for PES 2015. As much as PES 2014 disappointed me (based on what expecations had been built up) I've been busy enough not to care. But PES 2015 has to be improved beyond sight.

Look at MGS, they are going to have an impressive playable prequel or introduction to the next full instalment. It's only natural to assume PES haven't got the same treatment for years. Quite deservedly, MGS is the flagship and Konami most profitable IP. But at least PES isn't in limbo like Silent Hill franchise. The UK studio is one of few shining light.

So essentially you say it doesn't matter if you call your mother "granny" because a generation more or less is irrelevant.
Pulling out the straw man, nice. Completely different scenarios.

"Current" gen has been the term used to identify 360/PS3 era games for over 6 years now, it's what people know... If a new PS4/XB1 game comes out with "impressive" visuals, then people will say "Wow, that looks so next-gen", not "Wow, that looks so current-gen". In time, more people will have the new hardware and grow used to them, and it will become natural to use "current-gen" when talking about them. As it is, they've been on the market just over a couple of months, the majority of people won't have switched over yet.

Being so irritable about it and trying to force the issue won't help anything. I value good spelling, grammar and whatnot, but this is a non-issue to get wound up about, especially if you're a PC gamer - you should know this whole idea of hardware moving in binary generational jumps every 6-8 years is a fabricated thing for the console market. Computer architecture/hardware doesn't develop like that anyway.

mate i can guarantee you if they dont get it right, there excuse this year will be, this is our first year on the new hardware, every year always excuses, i can understand if its being made 10 yrs ago, but we are in the year 2014 its embarrassing.

In the Fifa thread guys.

Crazy, really. I'm playing the PC version (bought it, i'm that stupid.) and i have much fun with the game but honestly Konami should concentrate on consoles. 2% is unbelievable and not worth the resources they have to put in. They should spend this development time and manpower into consoles development. I guess the game would be better then.

Simple, because they can and there's no competition in the PC market. 2% equated to 0.076, not a strong number per se but pretty respectable and significant.

However with such low market share nobody should be surprised when they don't put too much focus and no special treatment for PC, because financially it's not worth it. PES on the PC always have been direct port from the console version. Actually as a casual PC gamer, i'm quite grateful of that because they could severe the tie at any time. Since past few years I kept thinking "this got to be the last PES on PC". I'm afraid that may come true soon, maybe this year for PES 2015.

Sorry Lami was supposed to mention that they made a call similar to Konamis with regards neglecting a NG version. The EA guys mention that install base in South America is too small to spend the resource. I blame laziness and a frustrating youtube upload.

I wish it could be simpler btw have endless problems trying to show off my skills :)

That AI defending is horrendous. Nice finish though.

Horrendous defending is pretty common even in PL nowadays though so you might argue that it's realistic. :BOP:

Please explain

The defender that ran after the player that eventually scored could've taken a tiny step to the side and cut off the pass. The striker in the middle was completely clear though, and would've been a smarter pass realistically.

To be fair zee, the AI defending in that vid is horrific...

That is exactly my point. People are slow.
Slow as in difficulty understanding? If so, that's just pretentious as fuck.

It's nothing to do with that at all.

If we were on about an actually important topic like evolution, global warming, poverty etc. then I could understand you having genuine frustration at groups of people's inability to comprehend the issues, but we're on about the terms you fucking call two sets of video game consoles.

As I said before, when it becomes natural to use "current gen" it will happen, it happened last time (obviously). Trying to force the issue and offending people is pointless... "Why can't all these slow people call it current gen, why is it so hard?". Fuck off.
