Another request for next year, change the damn branding and logotype Konami.

PES as a name has a destroyed reputation, no one takes it seriously anymore. I think it's not that hard to revert the situation. There's no need for an all-new name, just one premise:

Remove "PES", bring back "Pro Evolution Soccer", like in the PS2 era. Call it "Pro" or "Pro Evo" if you need to simplify.

"Pro 2015/Pro Evo 2015" sounds much better than "PES 2015" IMO.

Yeah, it seems it's a key element. The question is, for those who already mastered the gameplay, do you think it was a good design choice to rely heavily on the right stick?

Does it actually provide better and deeper control of the players?

Do you prefer the control system of PES 2013 instead?

Using the right stick this year is important to fully enjoy the game. However, it's an insane design choice that I hope is gone next year. Even though you can turn some stuff off, I think the whole control scheme has become too complex really and is a reflection of Konami's lack of focus with the game.

Is the problem online with PES servers or what? or years it's been rather dogshit, why is this?

Agree with everything that has been said in the podcast, all aprt from online i talk about in the improvements.

Responsivness/keepers is the biggest thing.

Then afterwoods shooting, i miss this at 2:38:
YouTube - [TTB] Game of the Week Series - PES 2013 - Man United Vs Chelsea - #17

There was so much variety last year with the shooting
PES has always been peeer to peer connections which are old and archaic they need to move to dedicated servers like every other games company. having said this the connection has been vastly improved since the last patch. hell me and honome managed a lag free game but the 1,5 of the 3 we played lagged a bit, particularly the 6-0 drubbing I suffered :CONFUSE:
Need to add; my keeper was also very bad but they were all on purple which is hectic with ordinary keepers. he kept parrying everything

Anybody agree or disagree that 1.01plays better (smoother and cpu plays more openly and offensive) than 1.06 on PC ? I don't know if it's placebo or anything , probably related to Jenkey fixes in fileloader ? or I am more used to 1.01 cause I played it for almost 2 and a half months so got used to it ! I don't know.

Precisely that on PC,I have stayed with 1.01.
Am sure of that myself.

My hopes have never been this low before.

The game needed to be rebuilt from the ground up, and I really doubt that happened in 1/2 years.

Guys, trust me, PES 2014 on PC at 1080p natively will be PES 2015 for PS4, game looks really good, I even played Fifa NG on same monitor and PES looks really good compared to it. I even prefer the PES rich color palette over Fifa's (excluding the player's color skin when looked at the game entrance, etc)

If Konami fixes the gameplay issues PES 2014 currently has, that should be enough for me for PES 2015.

I have a good feeling that PS4 release will be a polished PES 2014 version.

Adam Bhatti even said that Konami will make a balance between PES 2013 and PES 2014, there will be a balance between simulation and fun, PES magic formula has always been "Easy to play, Hard to Master" and this year clearly has not been the case! So I am almost sure Konami will revert back to that formula when PES 2015 is released. It will not be PES 2103, but it will be easier and more fun to play than PES 2014.

I really do not believe Konami will implement many more gameplay features, they need to concentrate on fixing current gameplay issues (response times, pass accuracy is broken, general game speed, goalkeepers, etc) that currently often ruins the experience.

The most recent PES UNITED podcast is a good listen. Well, perhaps not if you think all is well with PES.

I found myself in agreement with most of the discussion, particularly the chat about player individuality (or lack of) in recent years, as well as the negative impact of 360 control and the plethora of pass assist settings.

Worth a listen.

Thanks mate link please.

It's like I feared, the backlash will coerce Konami to make PES 2015 easier to play than PES 2014.
It's strange cause I don't find PES 2014 hard to control or to play, and I don't even use the right stick.

You just need to think a bit like you are on the pitch, using the bodys positioning regarding the ball and read your opponents movement and then you can use that to your advantagement.

I find it rewarding and realistic.

The problems I see are regarding AI, the AI needs to become more intelligent, more creative, more varied and more challenging so that single player-modi can become more interesting in the long run.

In defense, midfield and in offense.

And goalkeepers need to become a bit better at close range threats and a bit less perfect at dealing with long range threats.

God, no...

This damn "balance beween simulation and fun" is what stops PES from being the best football game around. Simulation = fun. Just check NBA 2K.

KONAMI needs to do two things - first to work a lot on AI, second to revamp PES off the pitch side - game modes, stadiums, menus, match presentations etc.

I believe that maybe if Konami fixes all critical gameplay issues, game might be easier and more fun to play, we will have to wait and see what happens!

This. I fear that simulation route is not the popular one and we end up with a PES6 like game.

Good point but gameplay is kind of frustrating when easy/obvious passes are not delivered for example, even with all four assistance bars.

I won a league in Professional mode and right now I am playing in Star Mode, you are right about thinking what to do fast, but I believe game is generally much harder to play than previous PES games.

I can see this happening and it will be good for everyone. for PES to go down the simulation only route.

Hopefully i can go back to buying both games again one day with one offering the difference to the other.

Also in Master League professional is harder than Superstar/top player. Until the AI's heart reaches top level, in Master League they are an embarrassment, i yesterday won easily 6-1, 5-0 vs opponents with Everton. The AI is clueless when your heart is on fire and theirs is medium/low.

Game is still a shadow of it's self ingame comped to training mode.

PES 6 weren't bad, just highly overrated. it was a very good fun game. Just inferior to PES5/WE9

Konami cannot ignore PES 2013 type gameplay fan base, in fact those fans were ignored this year with PES 2014 so that is why Konami needs to find a balance between both games.

But it is clear that the robotic old engine movements will not comeback, it is part of the past, but I personally would not mind playing a PES 6 type game or close to it. "Easy to Play, Hard to Master" is the key for PES success.

I am a fan of PES 2013, it had awesome gameplay, i liked also it had different gameplay styles to suit people, there was a 4bar full assists very arcade style with some personality, i didn't play that really. I always used 1bar an played longer matches where the simulation resides. I used full manual when playing vs my brother, i think Full manual passing only works vs a human.

Something i think PES has done well with the last two years. Sliders would be nice, but there a scale in the last two games between arcade and simulation.

PES 2014 is not an arcade game in any shape or form, its a game with parts that work and parts that don't. Last year also online people complained about through balls. Online is shit because Konami refuse to fucking put the difficulty level on Superstar or Top Player, forever ranked matches are set to bloody Regular allowing arcade fest and poor defending to reign supreme.

Online is catered for casuals, simple as sadly!

Konami can leave the assists in, just make ranked matches on Top Player or supserstar. Then the defensive AI will be much better and you won't have to worry about cheap play, been like this for years and years.

I don't know what that means when people say that.

Konami need to go in the direction of simulation really with PES - EA have the action packed pick-up-and-play formula down to T.

I think manual crosses using the L2 button are good. It's just a shame headers and the reaction of players in the box are too often ineffectual and unreliable.

Heart needs to be changed. It's a good concept, but once you score a goal the AI's heart makes the AI assume that it's going to lose the game, therefore allowing you to score more goals. Heart does not give the AI a fighting chance, it instead makes the assumption that the team is less and less motivated. There needs to be a change to this where heart can bring back the fighting spirit of a team when they're currently losing.

I've been playing with heart set on red. Unfortunately only available in exh. mode which is hard to understand since we were told before release it would be completely optional.
So exhibition is pretty much all I'm playing atm.

What's the chances of next-gens game being 'rails' free?
The rails mechanic is the main reason the cpu takes away so much control from the user imo. Things like speed of players, who + how they lock onto balls, laser guided passes and auto tackling/lunging out of position.

It would be great to see this game totally movement free

No.I listened halfway and just stopped

Individuality is there so I cant agree also dont understand what they mean with 360 degree being an issue. Dribbling is much more satisfying since they went 360
I do not think everything is hunky dory with PES 2014 like shooting, keepers and CPU AI but what is there is good enough imo

Thanks for the link lami

i've said/noticed this before and im 100% sure pes 2014 is still getting updated by konami somehow without downloadable

patches and what not. idk if its every tuesday with the servers maintenance but definitiley the game is constantly

improving. online its lag free for half a month now for some reason.. anyway with that said i dont trust opinions from

people who had stopped playing the game anymore, because clearly its not the same as it was a month ago.

With respect but that doesn't make sense technically speaking. It could be simply because less people are playing and less loaded network.
