It's funny how I write here asking for help or whatever advice and my posts always get ignored. Instead people bitch about the game, same people, same talk pages after pages. It's been two fucking months already - move on, live your lives christ sake. It's evoweb, I've been reading these boards 3 years but this year it's just depressing.

P.S. The game itself is fine (just the abnormal loading times I try to figure out)

It's probably because no-one knows how to fix the problem. Only thunk I can suggest is to remove the option file, and try it then. Failing that, uninstall the game and reinstall it.

For all the games discussion and flaws I applaud Konami for being the only company to offer everyone a viable alternative to FIFA for years. In terms of gameplay PES has been better since 2008 for me. What I like is the way Konami are always changing and evolving their game. This doesn't always take it in the right direction but at least they are brave enough. I believe one day they will get it as right as they can and make the most incredible football game ever seen.
That said I have to say I absolutely love this years version.

read pes6 or fifa14 discussion topic, no bitching there about those games, obviously only here just because people wanna troll with u :BYE:

Sorry I can't agree with that. I don't see anything realistic in the gameplay. It's all through pass, down the middle or over the top into the wings then near post pass. Over and over. Plus the fact that the game is so repetiive in passing moves and goals scored, it instantly becomes unrealistic.

Not to mention the AI pressing all match with no stamina effects of any description, and it all adds up to a really unrealistic representation of the game IMO.

I agree with suupertalk. In real football you don't see:

1 - high line defenses in every team. If you want them to get back, you have to press D-Pad back everytime the oponnent have the ball, it should be otherwise, the defense sould position where we command them on the tactics menu, and you only have to press D-Pad forward if you want them to come up to pressure or to gain an offside.

2 - lofted trough ball possible with any player with pin point accuracy

3 - Lob shoot goals almost in every side of the pitch, even if you shoot from the corner line, you score with lob shoots.

4 - Keepers defending every shoot from 30 yards or longer.

5 - lofted shooting in the area, where as someone said before its goal 99% of the time, and if you just press L1 with a short time square, the keeper always dive under the ball.

6 - almost every shoot on basic shooting goes in the goal or near the post, and when its near the post you will know because keepers just don dive to it, they just stair at the ball because scripting have decided it would not be a goal.

7 - free kicks are to damn easy with no skiil at all. What was wrong with the old system? it was the best system of every footbal game, with no guide lines, and where with the right player you could do some magic ( roberto carlos and beckham od PS2 days are magic).

8 - headers seem to be random, some times they do a first time header, some times they don't react at all, and some times they chest the ball and only after that they shoot.

9 - fouls not given, because the new physics system is very good in my opinion, and we have much contact the referee seem to not know what to do, so you can just stumble into another player to get the ball with no foul given.

10 - when you are under pressure sometimes you just can pass in a straight line, or the player keeps running and doing nothing even if you pressed the button long time ago ( it just resembles the stumble animation of PES 2011 without the stumble)

11 - Stamina system almost non existant

12 - animations take to long to finish sometimes, and you cannot do anything about it, speccialy in deffence with slower players and with less ball control, it lacks urgency.

13 - This game still resumes to fast players, the creative ones have little to no importance in this game, and its been like that all this GEN. In PS2 days you had fast players as defenders were good to, you can fight them and because the trough balls are not even closer to effective as they are now, the game was balances. If you remember we had martins who runs at a 98 or 99 speed, but in front of the goal was horrendous with a poor finishing attributes, missing many times the goal, despite creating opportunities.

14 - lack of atmosphere conditions, Is that even possible in a game in 2013?? Lack of stadiums, lack of erhhh lets say "CONTENT", PES 2014 must be one of the most empty games of all times.

15 - The L1+RS to send a player forward is wrongly implemented, they only run forward in straight lines and they keep going and going even if the ball is not given to them and they are miles offside.

16 - Your defenders tend to track a player, not respecting the defense line.

Well i could keep going and going but its to many things, and despite of what we say to Konami, they don't listen, they don't care, and they will only notice when nobody cares about their game, and the sales become so poor that they would not have funds to keep the series going.

But despite that, they did many things right, like the physics, the weight of players, the passing system is good but could be much better, the stadium presentations and color palette i thinks its very nice this year, the ball physics are good, but that's all that i can remember that its well implemented and truly functioning as it should be.

Like many have said, the game lacks SOUL, lacks some basic fundamentals, that makes football so special, so addictive.

:BYE:

Oh come on...surely, you can do better than that.

Mods, give people like suupertalk and gabe paul logan a separate thread where they can complain at leisure and not bore other people.

I agree with a lot of the issues they have, but i haven't given up on PES2014. Yesterday i had an enjoyable session on professional. Drekkard (whose opinion i really rate and who doesn't sound like a broken record) finds it too easy on professional, to me it's just good like that.

What i want to say, i respect other people's opinion. I even understand them, i agree that Konami has treated us like sh*t. But is there any use to make the same posts over and over. How many times have people like Suupertalk and gabe paul logan already posted that PES2014 is a very bad, broken game...i think most people have understood now.

Because i support freedom of speech, let them express their opinion in a separate thread where they can discuss with people who want to discuss with them (but i honestly don't see why that would be good) or let's start a thread with suggestions (the 1.000.000th thread)...but please let them stop boring us in this thread. A thread where there are still people who enjoy the game.

What also annoys me is that some of these people consider people who still like the game (more or less) as some kind of idiots who will always support Konami, no matter what they do. I really hated PES2012 and 2013 with a passion. But after a week (or less) i was done with those games, played FIFA or NBA2K14 and stopped posted about PES. There is life besides PES out there somewhere... Go and search yourself a nice girlfriend, listen to some music or read a good book...

I'm sorry for this rant, but frankly and with all respect, i've had it with those post... let them vent their anger and frustration in a separate thread that i can ignore.

Thanks in advance and no disrespect to those posters.

I'm amused by the incessant moaning, negativity and sense of entitlement. Konami owes you nothing.

Of course they could manage this a lot better. The release date was set by executives and not the developers. I can only imagine that the devs are under extreme pressure, yet they have still managed to pull off the most realistic football game to date.

Yes there are still bugs and annoyances, but mostly they can be worked-around. For example, people complaining about floaty shots yet using basic shooting? I've had no such issues on manual. The form of the players has a HUGE impact on the game this year (Keepers too!) - so you need to pick the team accordingly. Strategy and tactics also demand a lot of attention.

Credit where it's due. No matter what the PES coders do, they are always battered with abuse, and mostly about trivia (people complaining about faces and socks FFS - get a life). Same story every year. It's a computer game! If you hate it so much, just move-on.

I didn't like the at first either, but when I re-approached the game with an open mind and some patience it got a LOT better. Now I think it is the best PES yet.

I really hope they fix the online exploits (chip shots) though.

How about opening a special frustration/bitching thread? :P
I think it´s ok when people bitch about the game AS LONG AS they accept the opinions of the ones who like and enjoy it.
Vice versa of course.

It´s KONAMI and they keep making strange decisions, that´s a fact....for years.

I keep playing this game and surely see many issues in it, but still I enjoy it to play.
The last patch was an improvement and this game obviously needs a few more patches.

Yesterday I had a match offline Master league, played DFB Cup and that match was really exciting. It ended 3-2 as I could score the winning goal in the very last seconds.
The goals have been fine, no shitty goals but well played ones.
Also the ML itself is fun (which I didn´t think at first as it has been cut a lot). I accepted to coach another team and got the offer being the national coach of Portugal to achieve the qualification for the Euro cup.
Of course, there could be so many improvements made to make the game better and give it more depth.

I also played a few online games and haven´t had any laggy sessions.

It depends what people expect of it and what their priorities are.

The keepers suck at times, that´s right and there are a few other issues that need to be sort out, but I´m glad I can enjoy the game anyway.

EDIT:
agreeing to gerd and jaboy!

sry for off topic;)
who do you defend?
i played some games online yesterday and i tried to defend "oldschool" with pressing square( changed controller settings like fifa) for com pressing, but the com player didn t attacked.
is there a new way for defending?

Bingo! I wondered how long it would be before someone came out with this one.

When you buy the game on day one year in, year out, tolerate broken, buggy releases and features getting stripped out, defend the game in the face of criticism from others......well yes, Konami does owe us something - a decent game that rewards our support and patience all these years.

This community has a clear demand for a complaint thread. It's tiring to read the same complaints for the nth time.

Drekkard (whose opinion i really rate and who doesn't sound like a broken record) finds it too easy on professional, to me it's just good like that.

That's my drama, Gerd, I loved the game on Professional (and to some extent I still do) until I mastered dribbling and shooting and now I can win every game by 3 or 4 goals at 0 speed, 1 bar and 15 minutes halves. My skill right now is more influential than player stats, so I know that doing certain mechanical things I get results. I think that professional difficulty shows the game at its best, but the problem is that the AI doesn't pose a threat for me, and when it does it's only due to scripted patterns. So my game experience has fallen flat, even if I love the foundations of the game at Professional difficulty.

Granted, I could continue to play at Professional difficulty by taking a lesser team and suffer a bit against the big ones in later stages of tournaments. But I would like to enjoy a Bayern - Arsenal as well, for example, or struggle to avoid relegation.

I tried Top difficulty to see if I could find this, but what I fonud was that the game gets absolutely distorted and turns into an arcade mess with everything I always hated about CPU AI design. There's no chance to create beautiful looking football or enjoy the diversity of football on a regular basis there.

Probably I'll spend some time with the game here and there playing some Professional difficulty matches trying to create beauty. But it will be sporadic.

Maybe with tons of editing and testing I could find a way to enjoy balanced matches in Professional difficulty. Mainly by decreasing my player stats but even this would avoid the pixel-perfection of lob passing, lob shooting and the completely opposite for the long range shooting. But I don't have the time to do so, and 2K14+PS4 is knocking on my door this week.

Well,i don't like the fact they always have to change something that works in gameplay, every year.
I think Pes 5 was the best Pes simply because it was an upgrade of Pes4, that was an upgrade of Pes3, and so on.
These years KONAMI seems to just want try to reinvent the wheel every year and the result is seriously confusing.
They should use Pes2014 basic gameplay, fix its bugs, coding errors, expand on it and make PES 2015 feel like a sequel to Pes 2014,not a kind of reinvention of PES.
Give the people timeto adapt to the new gameplay, don't change it every year, please.

Sorry for trying to constructively point out what's wrong with the game. I won't bother in future.

@ suupertalk and gabe logan: my comment was meant to be positive.

I will certainly not ignore you both, because you are not offensive and have often very interesting things to say, only both your assessments about PES2014 are getting rather repetitive. I'm sorry.

Alex, enjoy your PS4 and NBA2K14.

I will wait with next gen for a couple of months. We just bought a new house and for now there is not much money left...

Loool maybe we should create a thread for the ones that just see the goods of the game.

konami will be the sheppard, and the ones who think konami after 6 years giving us subpar games are in the right track, are the sheeps,.

emo-web...

seriously all this negativity jeeez.

PES-2014 its a good game with all its negatives, positives, bugs(lol)

i believe its the BEST base to build on konami ever had. as long as

there is deep gameplay, player individuality and team individuality im happy

all i want is much more deeper AI so the CPU can have more variety to its attack etc.

i hope now with next gen this will be possible

Discussing the game on here made me put the game on for the first time in a while. I got to just into my second match before turning it off, how anyone thinks this is realistic is absolutely baffling. In just over one game I saw the AI relentlessly sprinting around the pitch like cyborgs, spammed me with long balls over the top and those passes into the near post, hit lofted crosses into the near post, tried hitting me on fast breaks over and over using the through pass, and I saw THREE appalling keeper errors in pretty much one game. All three goals were from crappy shots at waist height, into the middle of the goal, straight at the keeper who didn't need to move, and he angled his body virtually towards his own net and deflected the ball in for no reason whatsoever.

I genuinely don't think this game works on any level. If people think keepers in particular are fine then they must be choosing to ignore it, plain an simple.
Still not sold it yet then ?

I can't believe you are actually buying a next gen console with hardly any good games out. The only 'notable' and 'good' console exclusives is Dead Rising 3 and Forza. In fact, none of the games are considered 'next gen' quality; i could argue that this last year of current generation games have better games than next gen launch games. What's the point of spending $500++? Not gonna buy one until next year. But that's a discussion for the other thread.

This place spins around in circles doesn't it? I usually don't post during times like this, but it's getting pretty unbearable. It's like no one wants to have a bloody dicussion about anything. Things get repeated over and over again; no one bloody reads; no one makes an incentive to actually argue to with the person they disagree with without getting igonored or resulting to condescending insults. I've repeated things i said a few times already. And really guys, stop indirectly insulting people who actually like the game; no one likes being called sheep or blind.

It's funny. I seem to like flawed games that have great potential. Planetside 2 has a fair share of problems with performance, balance and content yet it is the only fps with this kind of scale that BF4 does not even come close. Dragon Dogma is considered a flawed gem with the only good thing being its in depth combat+rpg system. And yeah, for PES 2014, i'm in the same situation as PES 2013; i know all the flaws, yet despite the flaws, i'm still enjoying the game.

It´s a good game, for ones sake, just if you dont like something, why not to mod it according to your preferences?

I am editing tactics heavily, being a tactics freak I do it every year. Now I am using my own sets based on klashman tactics with two main ammendments. First one targets to slow down PC buildup. For this I limited Shift to the Attack to the range 0-10(0-5 slow buildup teams, 6-10 fast buildup teams). Second, I limited Front line pressure from 0-15 (0-5 stand off, 6-10 press moderatly, 11-15 press high; with values of 14 and 15 given just to Barca and Bayern), because too high pressure makes the game very frantic and, even worse, makes players to leave their positions opening holes in defence.

This morning had an amazing game on top player (!, I always played on professional) with Atletic Madrid against Barcelona. I played as they did in real life - positioned deeply, very narrow, packed my midfield and broke quikcly through wide players. Defence worked as charm, with frustrated catalans just passing around and relying on unsuccessful individual actions of Neymar. I scored a goal on the counter, then after the half time Barca switched to their attacking formation and pushed me back to my goal. In the end their scored and equalized with Pique, but it was all very realistic and satisfying. They totaled 59% of possession and made 11 shots compared to my 3 (15 min match).

I think that's because everybody else is talking about PES 2014 as a game, not merely a base for another game. I don't think that anybody who bought PES 2014 got a free voucher for a copy of 2015.

From what you're saying it almost sounds like you're advocating this year's beta test. Most people here paid good money for half-a-game and are pretty right to (constructively) criticise the game if they perceive it to be lacking in refinements that are typical of major mainstream releases in 2013. I wager if they'd have paid £20 rather than £40 (the price I'd evaluate the game at) then I think people would be less pissed off and willing to hold back their snarling posts. That didn't happen though unfortunately and if it did, I think people would proceed with a more positive appraisal of what the game may bring in the future like yours. I hope you can perhaps understand why so many people are being 'negative'.

No worries, I'll stop with the criticism. I was trying to be subjective as I've also praised stuff in the game, but fair enough if it's getting repetitive. Apologies if it was annoying people.

Thanks, and i've nothing at all against you.
I even agree up to a point...
Hope that in the future there will be a football game that you really enjoy.

hmmm I edited one stat for one keeper - Boruc of Southampton, I increased his defensive prowess to 85, a jump of about 40 points.

I played against Juve, and prior to this I also played against Juve but using Newcastle instead.

There could be many reasons but I noticed something different, Juve took more long shots when I was using Southampton. Whether what I edited had an effect, I don't know for sure yet, need to do more testing.

About all the negativity and positivity, well, we all want a better game, so lets try to be constructive. I've also agreed with some of the criticism, namely the keepers, but there are still enjoyable parts of the game. Those parts for me, for now, is enough to keep playing
