Regarding what Suarez75 wrote, I have to agree with some points he does make.
If I sound negative, sorry.
I will not consider myself as hardcore fan of one game or another.
I believe the true battle will emerge on Next-Gens. Despite the slack "other title" gets in this thread, I feel it's worth mentioning at least that. Forget about Current-Gen version of the game. It's better by a fair margin.
Here is my concern. Why didn't KONAMI do what EA Sports once did with NBA Elite? Postpone the game release for few years. I mean NBA Elite got massive stick in the arse from NBA fans after Bynum bug (go search youtube for it. It's hilarious!).
I doubt any PES fan would doubt this decision after 7 years of constantly delivering subpar product. Sure the games could offer fun for some time, but you can't deny they were broken in one area or the other never to get fixed in later iteration (same bug fixed in previous game with final patch will reappear with new game?! HELLO?!).
The problem KONAMI might face now, with regards to PES 2014, is
people distrust.
What do I mean? With NG football title appearing on the horizon, KONAMI, fumbled and royally screwed up. They offered people unfinished, unplayable (sadly, Master League/Online modes are stuck in the 90 or early 2000s!) for longer period of time with lack of longetivity possible. Just a mess. When you see hardcore database whining, it's not good sight.
If you didn't get my main point yet, people remember
failures more than
good things. Even if KONAMI produces World Class game next year, with unbeatable gameplay, I can still see KONAMI and PES sales dwindling in favor of EA title.
You need to realize, people don't seek gameplay alone in games nowadays. They are greedy bunch. The more the game offers on and off the pitch, the better.
Look, even games meant for hardcore fans, get changes done (SupCom 1 vs SupCom 2 :/).
I will say, after 100 games on PES 2014, I have no urge to touch it even again. Formations? Custom Gameplans? Sorry, but even if u change those, game can still play exactly the same like you didnt make those changes.
Try constant pressuring them. The tackling is easy, double teaming is working 99% of times.
Plus there is another thing PES players often point out. Interia.
I can say, essays can be written about this, I swear. I don't know if you played modern football on modern or not, but times changed a lot since PES 6.
New accessories are v. light, balls are awesome, the whole gear weights a feather.
I, myself being 194cm tall, weighting 89kg, can easily make turns on pitch, trying to mimic Messi/Ibrahimovic and the likes (being pretty solid GK for my club, but like to do some crazy things sometimes

). There is absolutely NO DUMPING down feeling you get on PES or mud like feeling. AT ALL.
Twists and turns are pretty easy if I dare to say so (and here is my praise to FIFA 14 NG, they have it got almost spot on, played it at media center 2 days ago - having touched FIFA at all since 96).
On PES 2014, I wouldn't call interia realistic. It's like they were basing this on 90s early 2000s, again...
The recommended action for KONAMI and PES to take is: Invest money in the title.
Do more motion-animation capturing. Including keepers/defenders/passing/shooting/running/walking!.
Add the frigging walk to the game! It's basic, but missing. If you watch TV matches you can see players taking breather with walking. Dictate tempo
with... Walking waiting for players to move into positions. Option still missing in PES! In 2013 it's ridiculous omission... To not have analogue input in game.
Make sprint speed variable with triggers. So you have jog-slow sprint-mid sprint-full pelt available. See, no need to double tap R1. Put sprint on R2. Using analogue capabilities of triggers. Simple and effective.
To appeal to fans, make option to update squads with real rosters available to be downloaded from net. With current rating changes. NBA 2k does that every week... (not that I agree with this, as without dynamic changes in career mode implemented, this is useless).
Update the LOD. Seriously, this game could look SO MUCH BETTER. Look at boot details from close range, it's shockingly bad and heavily pixelated. Same thing can be seen when team presentation is ongoing and players come out from the tunnel (Old Trafford).
Make graphic more candy like. Upgrade color palette. People prefer American visual style system. (to get what I mean, compare Arcania Gothic 4 USA vs EU version).
Add options for Advanced graphics settings - this is PC option only. Seriously, I don't get it. PC users are heavily handicapped by KONAMI and held back with lack of customization options. (did I mention, no custom chants?! or DLC stadiums...).
That's it for now. If I seem negative or you want to laugh my post off, please do spare your time. I know PES 2014 has glimpses of football there, but the problem I see is, is KONAMI and PES Team capable to deliver on next level? Open mind thinking? Think outside the box? (sadly speaking they were liars when they said Stadium Editor was prohibited by EA - it wasn't just programmed in, in time. Just like Spanish stadiums weren't converted using FOX Engine. This can be clearly seen with faces made from DLC 2.0. You can easily recognize faces made from SCRATCH on FOX and the ones ported from PES 2013...).
Shabby work. But I will repeat my point again:
PEOPLE REMEMBER FAILURES AND ARE DISTRUSTFUL TOWARDS COMPANIES WHO MAKE THEM.
I don't want to get banned tho for stating my opinion and mine alone.
@Ipswich69
Regarding one of your posts, when you said, spammers like info0 will be banned by moderators, care to elaborate? I found that user comments valid, even when they were over the top or repeated (I guess annoyed some people with repetitiveness), but banning users for that? (You can see Banned underneath the name after all) - if it's permanent, sorry, but that's just cruel. Being a mod myself on few forums, I would never ban user for such thing, not when he didn't a) insult anyone, b) didn't threat anyone c) was just a plain troll. Ignore and move on. Maybe I am lenient or something, but respected regardless
