I don't know, I've played about 5 games since the patch and I think there has been a clear injection of "fun" into this game. Many of the worst problems are still there, Keepers stuck to the line, defenders a bit too prone to losing the ball to you near their own goal (they should rather boot it into the stands like in 2013).
But reaction from the players is better, games are more varied, and the downwards headers seem to no longer be the exploit they were. I'm enjoying it so far and right now I'm having a hard time stopping, unlike pre-patch.

this is how patch change log should look like , this is bf4

NETWORK PERFORMANCE
Eliminated a network sync bug
If youve been experiencing situations in multiplayer where it appears that you are taking damage from enemies through walls, you might have been the victim of a network sync bug. In this game update, we have identified and eliminated one such bug that caused this type of gameplay experience. We are continuing to work on more multiplayer optimizations concerning network performance

Improved Network Smoothing
We have made some improvements to the Network Smoothing functionality that you can find in the OPTIONS>GAMEPLAY menu. The Network Smoothing slider governs a group of settings that aim to produce a tighter multiplayer experience based on your specific packet loss situation

Removed network lag
In certain specific situations, network lag would be introduced when interacting with objects in the game. This has been experienced by some players during melee combat, when climbing ladders, and when operating stationary weapons. The cause for these specific network lag situations has been solved

GAMEPLAY BALANCING
Removed the scout helicopter at the final base for the defenders in Rush mode on Siege of Shanghai
Adjusted a Conquest flag position on Zavod 311 that was obstructing vehicles
At Hainan Resort in Rush mode, defenders were given too much armor at the first base. We have removed the defender IFV at the first base, added an attacker IFV at the first base, and increased the spawn delay on the defender IFV at the third base
Fixed so that there is 1 revive per round Defuse, as opposed to 1 per set

I'm surprised by how negative this forum has become. Of course everyone is entitled to his opinion but I can't agree that this game is as bad as people describe it, before or after the update. I have installed the update/data pack with ease, game feels more fluid, I don't have the player faces issue some have reported. I played a cup mode on full manual controls and it was so much fun.

I guess at this point those who really view the game as terrible should hold on to playing football games at least for the next couple of years. It looks like that the current offerings do not and will not satisfy the vision they have for a football game in their mind.

That's because KONAMI doesn't know what to fix. after the game was released they finished the game. they never ever searched forums and listen to fan feedback. they just finished their game which became final after the november patch.

Agree, it's fun again. Been playing with nice in league un. Genovese the RB is offensive fullback, individuality shines again. Want to keep playing.....

I have the xbox version, and I have the problem that during the match the game suffers from stuttering, or framedrops, cant exactly describe it.
I read that the ps3 version suffered the most but I do not hear any people about the xbox version?
the patch didnt help.
I also found a little stutter during the fifa 14 demo, could I have another problem? maybe HD related, should I format?
hope someone help, or are there more people with this problem on the xbox?

NO, PES 2010

thanks konami

I've been away for the weekend, and had forgotten all about this patch - seems like I haven't really missed much. Which was expected. I'll check back in in two months, when Konami have hopefully released a proper gameplay patch (not exactly holding my breath though).

Still no fouls, Going through seasons without winning free kicks, penalties or seeing cards for the COM.

Oh and also No stadiums.

embarrasing stuff

I play football games since Matchday on Spectrum and I play ISS PRO saga since ISS PRO 98 and I think this is the best football game ever. Famitsu score for Winning Eleven 2014 is 37/40, the same score than Winning Eleven 8 Liveware Evolution, the best of PS2.

Anyone here enjoying the game?

Let's not blame the Fox Engine, instead blame what the PES Team did with it.

Indeed.

It still doesn't feel like a fully new version of the game to be honest, like they've taken assets from PES2013 and reskinned then in new graphics and animations. If it's a completely new engine, I don't understand why I spend so much of my time fighting against the game trying to pull and push my players into areas of the pitch I don't want them to go into, like when the COM hits the ball over the head of the full back and the game forces a CB to go and sprint over to him regardless of whether you are in control of him or not. The game actively makes him run out to the wing even if you are pulling the stick in the opposite direction.

I also don't like the way the COM teams still use zero stat influence. I played some ML yesterday, and I lost one game 3-1 with the DIV2 opposition dominating me, winning every challenge, playing really aggressively, then the next match I play a cup game against Vitesse from the top Dutch league, and I waltz through them time and time again and win 4-2, which could easily have been six or seven if my finishing was better.

It's the constant feeling of fighting against the game that annoys me, that and constantly mucking around with tactics to try and stop the COM from playing the game like it's basketball. It seems absolutely determined to get from a to b in the shortest time possible, via that through pass that is waaaaay too overpowered.

Played a few matches today and tried double tapping x for tackling. Though it doesn't do it instantaneously due to the tussling 'animation lock' bit; the fact that the referee is very lenient, and that they changed the tackle system making it always go after the ball, makes it spammable and overpowered. I guess it kinda balances out the other attacking exploits abit.

I think what's really spammable was the defending system in the past. Holding both square and X results in automatic double pressure. Players will automatically lock-on and hunt down the ball like missiles.

I don't know if ref's linient. I've drawn a lot of cards from badly timed tackles..

If anything, I think the ref is stricter than previous PES versions. It used to be that you can play against someone who spam sliding tackles blindly all game and they'll hardly receive the fouls they deserve. Not the case anymore.

Agreed. Game definitely flows a lot better. had some cracking games in the last 24 hours. Shooting still needs work though I think.

Hmm I need more time with it but I was talking about using it for shoulder charging/putting the opponent off balance. It wasn't really working for me.

Try to double flick the R-stick in the direction you want to shoulder charge. But becareful, you can easily concede a foul.

I feel like there's at least 2 types of animations with the R-stick physical play:
- holding R-stick in direction = shirt tugging
- flicking or double or triple flicking R-stick in direction = shoulder barging

I've noticed your chances of winning the ball with shoulder barging, without getting called for a foul, is greater when you use a strong physical player to do it. On the other hand, if I used someone like Iniesta to barge Robben off the ball, I always get fouls. It's a nice detail. It's got a nice new layer of decision making and judgement in gameplay. The battling players' size matters, the context matters, the wrong decisions are punishable. You have to think about if you want to use physical pressure in each defending situation, coz there will be trade-offs. Unlike in previous series, where spamming pressure was allowed. I've conceded too many penalties from shoulder barging...but I love it. This game gives you serious punishments for panicking, dribbling or defending alike.

Another suggestion is to space apart your R-stick flicks, so that the ref will let it go instead of calling it a foul.

I think we have to bear in mind, that people who don't like things will make louder noises and post in forums than those who do like it.

I think the patch is overall a positive one, though yes, its late and theres more work to be done.

Shooting is definitely improved. much more power now and a 'heavier' feel. I took a one touch shot with Honda from 30 yards and it crashed into the top corner with the keeper nowhere near it. That was satisfying :APPLAUD: Pre patch I only managed one long shot and that was with a knuckleshot vs the default keeper.

As for the ongoing debate about individuality...
I don't think its bad and for me anyway there is definitely a difference in 90 or so rated players and 70 rated players. The first time I used Oezil, he was far more responsive and easier to control with. Shame that the ground through ball is broken and it cannot specifically utilise his high low pass stats.

Fifa for me is the one that lacks any real individuality, except the likes of Ronaldo with his speed and animation for running.

Konami however from a business perspective are an absolute shambles. Especially coming from a Japanese company with their strict ideals of quality and good customer relations and services, they should hang their head in shame.

Also what the hell are Konami HQ doing?!?!?!
The whole damn organisation makes far more profit (in the region of 10's of millions) more than EA overall!!! why do they not pump that into PES productions?!?!?!?

They would EASILY match and overtake EA Sports in terms of funding if they were serious. For those of you not in the know, Japanese businesses are structured quite differently to those in the western world. For those interested take a look into Japanese companies and their subsidiaries...

Seriously, Konami should just pump a fatload of cash into football licenses and reap the rewards in years to come.

argh its so frustrating!!!

I have been playing the whole day after installing the update and the game plays much better in my opinion. I'm really enjoying it a lot. Call it placebo or not! In addition to gameplay improvements I feel that graphics or colors, especially staduim turf has been improved a bit too.

How about you try yourself before you make any judgments???

Can´t agree more!
To me its fun and I also tried a few games with the new patch.
I like it so far and really feel an improvement.

Have to play more games to make a concrete statement though.
But it feels positive for now.

The only negative thing I realised is about faces.

800 new faces and Torres still looks shitty...come on, KONAMI!

EDIT: Is it me or is the replay stuttering gone? Playing it on PS3

Exactly. It's same situation with FIFA at their own forum, role swapped. That's the internet for you.

I also agreed with your latter half. It seems to me PES Production always working with tight budget. They had to let go lots of stuff to make room for newer stuff such as music, licenses etc. You can't fault the studio, it's the HQ that makes most of important decision.
