I saw this video today, look at the behaviour of the crowd. it's amazing. http://youtu.be/g4M7UUmiO_A?t=12m30s

These are the things that will eventually destroy a game like PES. KONAMI has fallen so far behind that is has become a sad situation.

Oh pish posh

Konami were hyping lively crowds for PES2014.

FIFA NG so far is dire. Multiple players going up for headers, outside boots passeshave been on PES since forever. Ignore the little catch phrases the amount of actual innovation EA has brought to the table is abysmal Barring FUT andother online compnents they lack foresight and forward thinking to a scary degree.

The time is right for a 3rd player on the market but with the licenses story that's never going to happen.

And what does PES has? they don't even have shooting. I just like to rub it in. Maybe then KONAMI will do something about .....something. what ever they want to fix.

Amazing for 2 minutes then you remember it's just the crowd. The football, the important part of the game, still looks very "arcadey" though. Same old game with sharper visual, I bet.

Keep protecting this stuff from KONAMI and I can see the doom of PES franchise because of fans who buy the shit instead of punching them in the face with it ;).

Other games kept on developing, KONAMI kept destroying PES. FIFA was pushing for intriguing Career Mode and delivered. You think that happened overnight? Or FUT just happened like that? Or Season Co-Op modes Online?

Nope. Those things were well thought off. Whereas PES broken online mechanics and unrealistic and boring Master League/Football Life which absolutely doesn't emerge people in it, is still there.

They can't even offer proper gameplay anymore. I can see their doom on Next-Gen consoles too. Being already year behind and offering unfinished product on current-gen.

People who might have tried PES 2014 for the first time ever this year, might not get it next year, because well, KONAMI and PES Team failed to deliver.

With all the wrongs FIFA does gameplay wise, they deliver complete package out of the box, they fix issues fast (Update #3 is already there). Correct Squads and lineups with simple click of the button, etc. Waiting 2 months for correct line-ups is pretty much pathetic and unforgivable.

If you don't have licenses, or you want fans recognition at least put forth the fucking effort. Not the case here. You may want to protect them all you want, for me they played with fire and got burnt ;).

Here is one more catch: How come PC demo of PES 2014 is much better than retail game? Wasn't the two supposed to be same code? Wasn't PC demo supposed to be released shortly after retail release?

Trolling level hard. ;)

I think you're full of shit to be honest. If you want to constructively criticise the game in a way that improves the franchise read a few of suuuupertalks posts and emmulate the way he constructs his posts and presents his points.

I'm no fan of FIFA but I think EA has done more this generation to make Konami sit up and take notice than the other way around. Things like 360 degree movement, manual controls, animations, collisions, offline modes, online modes.

When I try and think of where Konami has innovated this generation I'm coming up short. Sure, player individuality is still their trump card (and always will be while FIFA cannot get players to use their correct foot), but even this has been diluted since the PS2 era. Most aspects of the game show regression since the PS2 and I feel the series is looking to FIFA for inspiration these days.

Some elements of the game are an outright train wreck. Online is one of them. Completely inexcusable now that online gaming is so important. I think the failings in online play have done more alone to damage confidence in PES than anything else.

Now is the time for a third player but while the murky world of video game licenses remains as it is, a new challenger will never happen. That's the way EA like it and why they are putting the squeeze on PES.

About correct foot, I believe both games fall short in that category to be fair...

@Ipswich69 yeah right I am full of shit, so are you. ;]

That's not really all impressive considering next-gen have more processing power. I won't look at the cosmetic stuff, because it is no doubt will trump any current-gen title. What i'm interested is the 'under the hood' improvement. Thing like how the AI will react, reactive or pro-active.

i beg yours?

Pes has had shooting variation EA can dream of. Yes there are issues with shooting on 2014 but to negate everything Konami has done to date is stupid

Look at the FIFA14 vids talking about shooting thats been in PES already

Knuckle shot is but one example

Allot of people don't understand that FIFA doesn't have to change the gameplay, because there is no competition. KONAMI lacks in all departements. That's why the addition of better crowds will make FIFA better and KONAMI more behind.

The argument that the gameplay in FIFA is shit holds no ground, because the gameplay in PES is non-existent. If there was a 3rd company doing a football game and it would focus on gameplay, maybe then we could say that the gameplay in fifa is shit. for now, it's better than that of PES.

what am i talking about....pes isnt even on next-gen.

FIFA gameplay definitely isn't shit. It just doesn't feel good/right to me, which is somewhat of a shame because I'd love to be immersed in FIFA's CM right now rather than trying to find the motivation to play another game in the bloody ML.

Wasn't PC demo supposed to be released shortly after retail release?

Wasnt EA supposed to release FIFA PS4/Xb1 version on PC?
Oh and KONAMI is running the show on PC just because EA is doing this to PC customers:

This is what I meant when saying blowing things out of proportion; the bolded parts to be exact.

"Incredibly shit" GKs means I'm playing toddlers in goal to me. I've had my GK save me on numerous occasions with some amazing top saves. The two issues I have are near post goals and GK not running out quickly for 1-1s or to collect the ball before the opposition does. Would like foot-planting to play a good part in GK motion too. Apart from these I think they're fine the way they are for me. I do not want them to be perfect. Just want them to be normal.

As for awareness and reactions, while they're not the best, they're "ok". Shit to me would mean players don't move or react much if at all.

That's my take on it. I prefer to be reasonable when criticizing anything :)

GKs wont be good until they wont get enough proper animations for saves, till then no matter how good is their AI because they cant reach "that" ball with not the proper animations. AND YES PES is still lacking in animations. No footy war but after 80 matches with FIFA 14, CG Fifa GKs are amazing(because of the many animations and so the variations of saves they have!!!!!!), PES sadly stucked in the stoneage in these terms..

FIFA 14 has been out for the best part of six weeks now, and has once again sold well. Over its five platforms (including iOS) the game has shifted an impressive 5.6 million units worldwide. To put that into some sort of perspective, FIFA 13 shipped over 13 million copies last year (and is still selling) and with the next generation consoles set to enhance sales further, the Christmas period should see those sales double in 2014!

Whilst PES 2014 received decent reviews, the 300,000 units sold worldwide pales in significance. Another victory for the mass marketing and heavily sponsored EA Sports game.

It’s also who noting that whilst PS4 and X Box One will increase sales slightly further, any games selling well in a year that has seen a new Assassins Creed, Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto is obviously a major player.

Taken from SG.

Ok this is one hell of a stupid thread now, full of FIFA V PES bullshit,
baiting and trolling.

Stop having a go at each other or I will join in with my Mighty Rule Hammer.

Discuss PES 2014 ,keep in topic and less of the personal stuff before we have to start giving out infractions around here.

I wonder if Adam knew about all these problems and said we be fixing all these issues immediately after they put the unfinished product on disk. I wish I had the psychic powers to read somebodies mind.

those pes sales...how on earth are they gonna buy licenses now?

I've noticed on loads of occasions that even when I struggle to get a shot off for most of the match, but as soon as I go a goal down, I pretty much go up the other end and score within 30 seconds of the restart.

The first couple of times I thought it was awesome and dramatic, but since then it just feels like the game is letting me do it. It happens far too often to be a coincidence. There's so much wrong with the game it's unreal.

Figures look about the same as vgchartz, that's probably where they got the reference from; the website we all know pull sources out of their ass. There is a reason why reputable forums such as neogaf, and reputable articles never post any vgchartz number; it is complete bullshit. Want to get the correct number, just wait for the fiscal report next year. Like i said before, there is no denying that Konami is losing sales every single year; it shows on the per year fiscal reports, it is just not as exaggerated as what people think it is; they are still making a profit, and that's why the PES franchise continues and isn't being pulled up by Konami.

I've just tried the PES 2014 demo; it plays the same as the retail PC for me. I seriously don't get floaty soft shots whatsoever, it is about the same as the demo. What you guys are feeling is probably placebo, or is due to a poorly optimized game; which i suspect it is the latter; that's why you guys think there is actually a difference between the demo code and the retail code; and why some people on PC experience no slowdown whatsoever, like myself.

+1 Well said :WORSHIP:

Stop quoting from dodgy blog. Beside everybody knew the sales are dwindling, what's the point?

Gamer should focus on the game, leave the business stuff, sales, marketing to the business people.

Because well, it is important.

Less sales = less money. Less money = less money available for payments. Less money = less licenses.

It is all accounted for.

The problem with pes is that you never know what to expect. I believe this game has so much scripting that we will never ever know how deep it goes. It's no surprise that people say different things when they first play the game. The game just randomly decides how players will behave, even BEFORE the match has started. This also happened in the ps2 days, beforehand the match was already decided to end in a loss. Probably to make the league you are playing exciting. This kind of scripting (bullshit) is still hapenning.

Year after year we are telling KONAMI to get rid of this shit and they do nothing about it. I don't believe it's a translation problem. It's a pride problem, admitting you are doing it wrong.

Just found out that playing on game speed -1 is considerably worse than playing on game speed 0. It seems that Konami concentrated on making the game work best on speed 0, while not adjusting properly for slower game speed.

So for me it's now speed 0, zero bar, top player and 30 min-matches where it's at with PES 2014 on xbox360.

Yes some things could be better, especially shooting from long range, but I get my thrill out of the game and it feels like football, and it is imho a massive improvement over PES 2013. I love the new freedom that the new engine allows, love the passing, the ball physics, the animation and physics (although these could still need some polish).

I hope that the patch won't disturb the gameplay aspects that are already great and merely fixes things that don't work right now:

1. Making shots from long-range have more zip and power (but making them go wild off more often instead).
2. Make the referee see more fouls.
3. Make the players a bit more aware regarding loose balls.
4. Improve on playerswitching so that it more often selects the right player.

Imho it's for me already a great game on the pitch, 85% for on the pitch gameplay, that could go up to 90% if the right fixes are delivered.

Off the pitch though things are more dire, and I doubt that patches can fix much in that regard.

This makes no sense, firstly you can't create games without having some level of scripting in them, and two, you've said the game is highly random but yet still very scripted.
