Jimmy - sorry to hear about your health issues mate. Hope you are on the road to recovery :)

Didn't mind the way that Winning Eleven trailer was edited but it shows off the shortcomings in animations so far. So many kicking animations where there is no backlift still?! And the passing animations often have this weird look where the body straightens up and the head moves back.

Hopefully this is due to the lack of time and that moving forward they can go to town on the number of animations and the quality of animations. I think this is the one of the core problems with PES to be honest. Quite often something happens in a game that can happen in a real game but the animation or ball physics used break the immersion and make you look at how it happened rather than what happened.

They are indeed on the right track but I do hope that they can improve sooner rather than later. I saw NG gameplay for FIFA 14 and no matter what people say about inertia and momentum, it still looks like the AI does it's usual side to side unrealistic ball dribbling which is the number 1 turn off for me.

For those who don't know, this is what Ive been up to....

I'm sure it's not only me that has had these type of thoughts in the past....

The type where you book a great holiday, plan a great weekend, get tickets for a concert or event, and then worry but hope that nothing fucks up before-hand to ruin it ?

99 times out of a 100, everything goes smoothly, and you get to experience the thing you'd been so excited for without any issues. Then you get that other 1 time that threatens to ruin it for you....

This was one of those times.....

I'd booked tickets for the UFC event in Manchester this weekend for myself, my son and two of my best buddies. We'd gone balls-out by booking two top class Apartments in Manchester, fully loaded with everything you could possibly want.

The schedule was set, arrive in Manchester Friday lunch-time. Attend a UFC Fighter Autograph session with 5 top UFC Fighters. Then off to a Q and A session hosted by Chael Sonnen, followed by the UFC Weigh-Ins Live.

Then check-in to our Apartments, have a good drink, play some UFC or PES on the PS3, utilising the apartments 42" Plasma. Then get showered and changed and in a Taxi to Joe Rogan's Live Stand-Up Comedy Show, for which we had 4 Front Row seats.

I'd even ordered us Joe Rogan T-Shirts for us all for the night, and had them imported from the States. Just for the crack. As well as treating myself to a Lyoto Machida Hoodie for the weekend.

So with Friday Night sorted, and the UFC Event and After Fight Party at The Hilton secured for the Saturday night, everything was shaping up nicely.

After a very quiet weekend by anyone's standards, let alone mine, I woke up Monday morning with a very sharp pain to the right of my stomach. A trip to the Dr's saw me blagged with a Hernia excuse, so I went to work. The pain increased dramatically throughout the day before I finally left work and drove straight to the Hospital.

After a 3 hour wait, I was then examined. Within minutes. I was attached to a Drip and a meeting with a Surgeon. Not what I was expecting at all. Drugged up to the eye-balls, I was taken to Ward 31 for an overnight stay, with constant checks. The symptoms pointed to Appendicitis.

Sure enough, I was carted down to the Operating Theatre the next morning where I went under the knife and had what the Surgeon called a 'nasty infection' of the Appendix removed. Along with my Appendix....

The 1 hour operation ended up taking 3 hours, such was the severity of the infection. But thankfully, and very luckily, my Appendix hasn't popped, otherwise it could have been a very different story.

Although it certainly won't stop me from going to Manchester this weekend, even though I can hardly walk right now, I feel lucky in a way that this happened Monday and not this weekend, when I probably wouldn't have even gone to get it checked out. As the partying would have numbed it. Then I could have been in serious trouble.

Anyway, I've just been released from Hospital, and my wonderful fiancé is taking great care of me. So it's a case of plenty of rest and onwards and upwards.

Thanks for all the kind words from those who knew and got in touch. Much appreciated, especially Andy Ogle.

Manchester here we come baby, Zimmer-Frame or not, it's only for the hardcore, and only the strong survive.....!!

So that was last week, I'm well enough to get out of bed now, so thought I'd give PES 14 another whirl. Impressions later, good and bad. But sometimes, searching out the genius can help nullify the niggles.

Really loving my ML with Boro, and finally I scored a goal from a very much in the long-range category....

The atmosphere I can created is unreal, the best ever....

YouTube - Ledesma Screamer !!

Sorry to hear that.

Re your goal - that awful keeper animation ruins a beauty.

gone.. when i got the game i was scoring those all the time once every

three or four matches now im in the 4th season on my ml and i havent seen

Yes, somethings about the game are somewhat different, i really feel that too. Had a few good games yesterday on Libertadores. It felt great, after my last ventures on MLO.
Come on Patch, blow our socks off!!!

Wow. A lot of negative reviews and complaints here. But I don't care, I have loved pes since forever and am looking forward to owning this. Sadly, that can't happen till next year because I can't afford it yet. Still killing the 2013 on my 360 tho. I LOVE PES

Maybe you guys can help me.

I just bought the game for the PS3 and the game is too slow. I mean really really slow. Even in +2 speed the game is slow and unresponsive.

I'm playing on a Slim PS3, I've installed the game, downloaded patch 1.01 and datapack 1, and set my PS3 to 720p.

I've even tried the game on my lag free monitor and the game is still slow (slower than Pes 2013 on -2 speed). When I play the game on training mode the game is better, so much faster that I reduce speed to 0.

Is there something I can do until the November patch is released? Is there a specific stadium or Time of Day that reduces this lag?

I've seen some youtube videos of PS3 version that does not appear to be this slow.

Still haven´t experienced a "no reason blue hearts patch". My team suffers from defeats (rarely, sadly), but after the wins they just get on warm hearts and really get somewhat unstopable, i guess. Would love a AI that could go to your homeground, shut up shop and make you really grind results when you get a few wins string together, just to show some awareness. Or a crazy attacking game, with lots of goals cause they also are on a good run and come for the win... ah, the possibilities.

All the best Jimmy.

Finding it very hard, I don't like to play out of the two top settings, but may have to move from top player down.

Far too difficult to dribble and passing is all over the place.

Feel half the time I'm bashing buttons for the sake of it.

Gonna keep going with the Copa Lib, but not enjoying the game at the mo due to the difficulty.

Get well soon Jimmy, nasty stuff. Remember my dad had to have his out a good while ago, could hear him spewing in the toilet for a good ten minutes or so when he came down with it. Grim. Wasn't enough for me to turn up the ISS PE2 commentary, but still grim.

While we are waiting for their patch, i found something interesting in PES facebook page last week..

What the actual fuck is this?

Oh, and get well soon Jimmy.

Forget TGI Friday, more like TGI November. Patch/DLC this month, and happy to say info should be coming this week. STAY TUNED #almostthere

As one of my mates said, that's such a lame attempt to hype up the patch. All this does is just piss people off or at least that was my initial reaction...

Oh, and I wish you a quick recovery Jimmy, glad you're OK. I've had my appendix removed just before it popped and I know what it's like - although I'm lucky enough that I barely remember it because I was little at the time but I can still remember how it felt before the surgery. Once again, glad you're doing fine mate, best regards. :)

At this rate, nobody will care about the patch when it's released. With this treatment to customers, you'll never win them back.

BTW, get well soon, Jimmy.

Broken games need to be patched quite quickly after release. I believe there is a small window of a few weeks to do this before customers move on. Many of the more casual PES fans probably already have and are now enjoying FIFA and a number of other big titles that are released this time of year.

Massive fuck-up by Konami. I still wonder if a delayed release would have made more sense. More time to finish the game and also more time for the hype surrounding GTA5 and FIFA to pass.

The problem with PES2014 is it's not broken as such, but clearly unfinished and I'm not sure that can be overcome with a patch/es. I fear we are stuck with what is nothing more than a tech demo that shows glimpses of brilliance but cannot be called a professional, finished product.

I sincerely hope people learn from this experience. Don't go out and pre-order PES2015, nor buy it day one. We are all dedicated PES fans so it takes some resolve to do that, but I believe it's the best course of action.

Reject the hype and broken promises.

Another promisses from the Biggest Fail of Konami along with PES 2014 lol.

A patch cannot make a game that it´s only about 70% finished, finished. At most you will get 5% finishing overall, and we will detect a better performance of online, but the rest of the niggles will remain.

Than in the first 2 weeks after patch release we will se PES forums trough the WEB, with the Placebo effect, that after a month will disappear again, and the hype for 2015 will start again, once Christmas is past.

All they brag about in this patch is Fuc%&$! faces FFS. 2 month to resolve issues, that will not be accepted in any other franchise other than Konami, let alone the 2 months wait.

All my friend have now stopped playing the game, at least the ones that buy it

They should just go all in for a next gen game to come out next Spring! Why the hell not? Well there are probably numerous reasons why they shouldn't. But I'd be interested.
