Does this header system also work when the ball is in the air from a goal kick, because my players seem to chest the ball down and kick it back up field.

Yes, definitely. I select a CM, move him into a bit of space, long pass from the GK then short pass while the ball is in the air then let go of that and flick the right stick as the ball arrives. Perfect.

Hmmm, just not sure about this game.
Was enjoying it to begin with but as I play more matches it just feels like every game plays very similarly.

Also, you have to work really hard to get into decent shooting positions (which is fine) but the lack of power in 90% of shots really doesn't reward you for all your hard work in the build up.
I haven't had a single "jump out of your seat" goal yet.

I'm also fed up of terrible decisions by the referee. I've lost count of the amount of times I've been clipped by a player as I skip past them and nothing is given whereas I've made a few beautiful sliding challenges which have been given as fouls when I clearly won the ball.

Any tips on distance shooting? I play on basic shooting as a re-convert this year from FIFA. Incredibly rewarding but frust rating when trying to score from range.

Any help would be hugely appreciated! :)

I've hit a few. Lovely when they come off the woodwork. Certain players are better at long rangers (Lichsteiner for example). Try to run on to the ball from a pass or by tapping the ball ahead and running on to it. Also, I find just tapping the shot button from range seems to work better than filling the power bar, more often than not.

How are people liking the 1.01 patch? I'm downloading it right now, stuck on 76% it seems. Is it possible to do a "roll back" the patch if I don't like it?

Same here. It's the best match for my ability level and I don't find the AI too frustrating to play against as it can be at higher levels (i.e. overly scripted).

In the end I just want to have fun with this game and I often find the higher difficulty levels are a bit of a grind.

Some DVDs/Blu-rays have a calibration facility on the disc. I think it's some of the Disney Pixar discs that have the THX calibration tool. It's good for getting the contrast and brightness levels set correctly.

If your on PS3 then create a playlist in music called WEPES2014 and put your chants in the playlist, then boot up game and insert from edit menu. Only problem is when ever you update your option file your chants reset to default.

I still find professional harder and all round much better than Top Player and superstar.

Can someone who has adjusted to the game please tell me if hitting passes and shots first time is broken or just down to timing, thanks.

This version is by far the toughest to score from long range. It has to be pretty much perfect, right under the bar or top bag.

I've had so many saved, in fact the keepers have been outstanding, especially against me.

Although I won't be scoring as many long range efforts as I normally would, the thrill of actually nailing one increases ten-fold. And statistically more realistic for sure.

They need to sort out player fatigue, every player has 0 stamina left at the end of a match. And it seems to be like in 2013 where it didn't matter how much running they'd been doing. This will presumably ruin Master League again.

I've experienced most legal (and some illegal) pleasures in life but I have to say, nailing a first-time, advanced through-ball comes close to matching anything!

I love how fresh your subs feel when you give them a run out late on. Strong, keen, quick with energy to burn. They can have a great impact and are easily distinguishable from the tired legs on the park. Great stuff.

Bring a player with a Super-Sub Player Card on, and they can change a game. Also reminds my of the likes of Ollie Gunnar Solsjaer(sp). I read their stats get a huge boost by the way.

I've actually noticed that fatigue issue playing ML too.

Just had to reply to this old comment. How is that not realistic? In real life if you are in the middle of an action, like a step over or a stride, you can't just immediately shoot. I didn't play PES 2011/12/13, but the foot planting and smoothness of animation transitions in this game seems pretty darn good. You can't have that without waiting for animations to complete (queuing basically), in most cases.

What does everyone else think about this? Should you be able to shoot at any time, regardless of what your player is in the middle of doing?

I would much rather be able to shoot at any time, regardless of what the player is doing, but have what the player is doing impact how good the shot is. That makes me feel much more in control than when I tell him to shoot but he decides to take an extra touch right into a defender.

In case anyone cares: night games are broken. Some even report that daytime matches are broken. You can fix this by going into video settings and change it to 720p.

I am now enjoying the game more.

please KONAMI fix goalkeepers and make defending better.
