Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Danny mate I saw the comments lastnight and told myself I was happy with the critics. Even this afternoon n my way home a fellow South African PES fan (we are a 1:10000 Pes:FIFA minority) texted me to say that he hated it.

The demo indicated it needs time like PES gone by. PES6 started the pick up and play and I love to see people struggling. Come 3 months down the line we will be singing Konamis praises.

As stated in this video, patch 1.01 had no intention to fix any bugs n the game, was mainly for online, he also states in the next few weeks they will bring out patch 1.02 which will resolve a few of the bugs that is in the game as well as cosmetic changes to players.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Went to play pes today and as I grabbed the case off the shelf the shelf bracket broke away from the wall. Everything came crashing down including a chunk of the wall... I picked myself up, dusted myself down and then I noticed in the rubble a really old piece of paper. It must have been hidden away in the wall for years!

I'm just looking at it now and i think I can make out some text on it. It says I need a crew of seven and we have to sail to the land of circles, find the central island and scale the mountain with no face.

I just wanted to play PES, Am I going to get banned now?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Had another couple of games and I feel like my biggest issue is the constant distraction of this right-stick trick thing. It's very Fifa isn't it?

I'm now finding it so hard to know when and how to use it that I'm starting to hate it. I'm not even sure if it's better to have auto-faint on or off.

You don't have to use it, I don't for the most part, not my style, unless I have a player like Nani or Ben Arfa who are known for their stepovers aynd tricks irl, then I add a stepover here and there or a marseille roulette :)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

AUS$69.95 on PSN? Wow I'm surprised. Isn't it usually around the $99 mark for new games on PSN?

This really annoys me, whatever happened to games being FINISHED before release? I'd rather wait until October (as the old days) and play a refined and finished and WORKING version of the game.

So if I do go and buy PES tomorrow, I'm basically buying a substandard broken version? Nah, I think I'll wait to see if the cameras are fixed on FIFA next week - because TBH the poor cameras were the only reason I wasn't going to choose FIFA anyway.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Went back to 2013 again to test some things. Its a case of six of one half a dozen of the other with the dribbling.

2013 has greater freedom of contextual foot placement, 2014 has continued to develop the movement physics.

Now they just need to increase the freedom again together with the more realistic movement physics for 2015. I'm talking about default dribbling styles without using R stick tricks.

Its still manageable though in 2014 and there are moments of fun, especially with the good dribblers with high agility/explosive power.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Cor just had the PES game of my LIFE.

Copa Libertadores, I'm in 3rd, a point off the leaders with two games to play. We're at home to Nacional, our domestic rivals who have the mercurial Recoba in their side. (He's the new D'Alessandro for MLO gents)

We score almost straight from kick-off, a first time volley from a midfielder arriving late in the box. From then on we can't get anywhere near the ball. Nacional are pummelling us, overlapping with their FBs and getting in behind our defensive line. They have one chalked offside, and Abreau hits the stantion behind the goal with a driven shot.

As we hold out, tackles are flying in everywhere. Wouldn't be surprised if they amp up the aggression for Derby matches as some of the tackles were filthy. Grossmüller (who set-up our goal) is having the game of his life, winning every second ball, must be the heart feature in action. Inevitably they equalize with a slick through ball just before the interval.

Re-organised ourselves and came out the 2nd half fighting. Clawed the possession stats back into a respectable range, and carved out a few half chances. Recoba is still running riot in the hole infront of my defence, but the game has swung and we're on top. The game concludes with a lovely little move, a nutmegging through ball outwide to Pachecho, he skips past the full back and drives in a low cross to Zalayeta who clips it first time into the bottom left corner.....where the keeper plucks it out with one-handed save. 1-1.

Loved every minute, saved the highlights that had some nice little bits if anyone wants a look.

Going into the last group game, only a win against the group leaders will secure progress to the next round. Gunna be tense.

From a pure footballing perspective, you can do things on this little baby that simply wasn't possible on any other PES.

I don't understand man. It's like somebody patched the game overnight, suddenly I can make those lovely R2 touches around players. Timing. All about timing.

Manual is a bloody dream on this as well. Advanced Through Balls especially open up all manner of avenues previously inaccessible.

Definitely, but last night and in the demos I couldn't see the potential. It never felt a case of not being able, more that it wasn't possible. Now I can see it's all there and it's magnificent.

That is interesting! Yes this game has a great potential once it clicks. The more I play ( manual controls) the more I like the game, despite some issues...

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Anyone had the kick off problem in an online game? When you press X to start, you pass it to the other person then they automatically pass it randomly where they are facing.

yeh mate i was surprised as well, $14.95 add on for online pass i should mention as well, which still makes it cheaper than most retailers here, just that i wont have the disc, but i can live with that as the bloody thing stays in my ps3 all year anyway :)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Posted a few pages back but Adam Bhatti has confirmed this solution works for anyone having trouble downloading the data pack on Xbox 360.

Screen%20Shot%202013-09-20%20at%2018.07.54.png

Xbox 360 broken datapack solution:

download both files:
http://baranowscy.pl/datapack/

download Horizon

using a USB stick formated on Xbox, put files on the stick (with Horizon), transfer to the console (System settings -> storage -> stick -> Games -> BOTH files -> Copy to HDD

get and transfer both files

enjoy online

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Awareness and player switching are a bloody joke. When they fail to work, they really screw up everything about the game.

Keep losing matches because of my own defenders bumping into me and making me lose the ball to the CPU

+1
Also GKs are awful deflecting the ball into thier own team's net.
After playing 20+games the biggest issues that stand out are:
1)Player awareness(especially defense)/player switching.
2)Stupid GK mistakes.
3)A.I. still spamming through balls.
4)Manual passing feels a little bit too slow.
5)Finesse shooting/advanced shooting/advanced through balls/headers on manual shooting are broken.
6)Ball controll is a little bit too tight and most players can controll the ball fairly well(even under pressure).
7)R2 dribbling looks out of place and not realistic.
To be honest Konami shouldn't have released PES 2014 on Fox Engine on current-gen hardware but rather stick to old engine and improve it(get rid of the scripting, add more passing animations, better collisions etc.).
From the lackluster content(only 19 stadiums/200 faces stripped down version of Football Life) to buggy gameplay it looks like an unfinished product that shouldn't be sold at 50/60 euros. In my honest opinion this game should have been delayed and released next year on PC/Xbox One/PS4.

That's fabulous news tbh.

Thanks for reporting it :)

Wonder if it's the same on 360.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Anyone who hasn't changed their camera settings tell me the default camera settings, please?

I was messing about with them and decided I prefer the default settings but there's no button to revert to default.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

PS3 servers are still messed up.

Just tried to play 3 games, won them all before even the menu screen. Still horrific lag of epic proportions.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

R2 close control is broken .. you can make any " close control " move only if you are straight to the opponent's goal , which is outrageous nonsense.

Which platform?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

R2 is no longer close control, it's deft touch only. Normal dribbling is close control by default, and holding R1 shortly adds a faster, less controlable dribble.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

People should get that 2014 is a revamp of the series. Everything is new. Comparing it with old PES it's not even a chance.

Just stick in your heads that you must face a loong, enjoyable and frustrating learning curve, before even make a judgement about it.

This game came here to blow our minds. And it's doing it, at least for me.

People that look for perfection, are playing the wrong game. Who said that the King of Sports was perfect? Perfection is boring!

Enjoy it, because this party has just started.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Had a good idea for a ML. Shifted all the Chilian teams into D2, then will select either the Argentinian or Brazilian one as the main D1 league to progress into. May even move some of the teams from the Copa Libertadores pool to make it more interesting.

Does anyone know how the Copa Libertadores teams are decided during a ML? Ideally I'd like to avoid having the default D2 teams crop up in it, but I don't know if that means I should move them to Copa Libertadores pool rather than the Chilean league structure.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Also they need to fire the chap who decided that Miranda in the default ML team is now a striker. :SHAKE:

Also Castolo reicarnate is now Greek. :II

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

What are others feelings about advanced through-balls? I don't think they work too well. Firstly because the defender always reacts quicker than the striker and secondly because players don't react well enough to loose balls in the first place. It feels more on-rails than the basic through balls do.

What are you talking about ? R2 is still close control ... i mean this :
pes2014-2013-09-20-20-49-37-15.gif

In PES 6 your player can be facing to any direction.. you can make what you whant and in every dicection with R2...
@Lami, PC !
