Here i am complaining about the lack of fouls and then i play coppa libertadores match where i get plenty of fouls and two penalties...
The thing is that we are too soon to judge those games. Maybe after a couple of months i could give an honestvand objective opinion. As always far too much hysteria when there is a new PES game.

This is the best footy game period. Don't understand the negativity. Been playing today and thoroughly enjoying it.
Its not different from the demo, its slightly improved. I honestly dont get the fuss at all. I think people are too precious and prefer to pick out the niggles and be distracted about them, because every year we scrutinise the latest version.

For an odd reason I've always felt official competition games played different to exhibition ones.

Seems to be less buggy and more responsive.
People get draw into hype too much and expect perfection.
Or people are very cynical, so much so, they sort of lose the point of enjoying anything.
I mean there a bugs and issues, but if i get really wound up by them, i don't see what that is going to achieve. I spoken about them, they are obvious, we will wait to see how they are fixed.

Had another couple of games and I feel like my biggest issue is the constant distraction of this right-stick trick thing. It's very Fifa isn't it?
I'm now finding it so hard to know when and how to use it that I'm starting to hate it. I'm not even sure if it's better to have auto-faint on or off.

Well then, this is a bummer. I live in Canada so the release date here is Sept. 24th. I checked online to see which store are selling it here. I checked Futureshop and according to their website they had copies in store. I called my local store, they have copies, but they cannot sell before the actual release date.

@ -1 the game plays exactly like the demo, i played one game retail, one demo last night for one hour. Same. The lack of stadiums, faces and bugs (R2 shooting on manual arch !!) are annoying but it remains a great game.
What camera do you guys use ? I like 0 zoom, 4 height 5 angle ...

Loving it to be honest, first time in years. Must be playing a different game to everyone else or something. Got it on -1 at the moment. Things like responsiveness for me are in tune with playing in real life, movements take time. Love the way you can't sprint in the centre of the park, but you can drop a shoulder and create space.
For headers and volleys, I'm releasing the power button and direction before contact and that seems to be working....seeing the computer pass it back to the keeper is something I've been waiting years to see. Only problem is the high defensive lines as said before,, putting compactness and defensive line right down helps, more so for the AI teams actually.

I used to think it was placebo but It just became evident to me that it isn't. Been playing the same game, Juventos vs Inter, with the stadiums on Random on the same conditions with neutral form and morale. All games are different! For example, the game is noticeable faster and easier on the Estadio do Escorpião.

You don't actually need to use it at all, but if you do, you need to give it time and space, also don't be sprinting and it should work fine. Try r3 diagonal down l3 diagonal up same direction (both forwards) to create a little space.

The AI needs work. Even on Top Player the computer will often inextricably run the ball out of play needlessly. It's as if they can't control the ball when they have it. In addition, they constantly hold the ball for too long meaning you can tackle them in dangerous areas and win the ball easily such as in the final third, with their last defender. I'd rather they passed the ball around and made me cut them out when passing into space but that doesn't happen.
Another bug bear is that they never take a first touch in the box even in acres of space. This has been in the game for years now and it constantly results in weak first-time efforts.

I have to get used to the right stick more.
Maybe get into the training more. The R-stick has some nice functionallity this version.

i havent found heading that difficult. infact i'd say it makes more sense as it is now. timing is key. you can't just hammer square waiting for the ball to come to you

Still do think PES 11 has superior dribbling/individuality.... but yeah PES 14 is lightyears ahead in other aspects. Definitely. The AI is superb for the most part, and I uh, I'm even getting a feel for dribbling.
Require a decent OF now so I can embark on some ML.

Awareness and player switching are a bloody joke. When they fail to work, they really screw up everything about the game.
Keep losing matches because of my own defenders bumping into me and making me lose the ball to the CPU

From a pure footballing perspective, you can do things on this little baby that simply wasn't possible on any other PES.
In hindsight I think I exaggerated its flaws somewhat.

Professional is far, far, far, far better than Top Player and Superstar. Wow, don't even bother to used Top Player or superstar, all about professional. Harder, more fluid, more responsive, less lag bugs.
