Fame comes at a cost..

League mode, ML, edit mode, online, when will we know about all these? I hope soon and not late because I'm too eager. Need to know they were handled and enhanced. I care about these a lot.

yet we wonder why the pes series has gone bad.
since KONAMI made an effort to try and listen to the fans, the series has gotten worse if you asked me.
take the reactions since they released a simple teaser trailer and a few screenshots.
the negative reactions are unbelievable.
that some, can get so much, out of so little, is beyond me.
They (KONAMI)were better off doing what they do best, and that is making the game according to their vision.
u will never be able to satisfy everyone so just go with what worked and build upon that
If you asked me their original interpretation of the game is still the best in football gaming.

Sure, we all want a real-football looking game, but I'm sure nobody would have hope for that until the EDGE magazine said "close to photo-realistic" graphics. That messed up the expectations. I think it's better to keep a low profile and then shock people than to hype people up and then let them down which, in my humble opinion, is what happened now with these screenshots looking so similar to PES 2013.

Do you reckon the Pre-E3 will show us some ingame videos? even if short ones...

Not sure tbh. But E3 is only days away too.

Yea, can't see him lasting too long in that position. Definitely not a "community relations" type of person.

I suppose he thinks he's still a forum moderator.

He needs to realize it's not worth to reply to ALL the mentions, 'cause sooner or later he will be discussing with an annoying troll. And now he's representing a much bigger company.

I'm surprised at some of the negativity towards the decision to release PES2014 solely on current-gen platforms. There is no precedent for Konami releasing PES on a brand new console.

PES5 didn't hit the Xbox360 in 2005 - we had to wait another year for PES6 to be the first 'next-gen' PES, and a further year for the PS3 debut with PES2008.

If I recall correctly, PES1 came a year after the launch of the PS2.

As others have said, it makes good business sense to hold back from the XBOne/PS4 until the install base is big enough to make development worthwhile for these platforms. Also you should remember that PES has a big following in developing countries where people aren't going to be buying new consoles for a long time.

For me I'm not too bothered about having to wait another year. If PES2014 brings better gameplay and improved animations then I'm happy with that. On the PC it already looks stunning at 1080p, 60fps - these two things are the missing pieces of the puzzle.

You wait and see how much FIFA 14 will sell on next gen. Rest assured, you'll eat your words.

He doesn't, he didn't reply to me (I was asking if there would be snow).

I can't wait until Konami announces this awesome new thing in PES called League Mode :D

They better bloody do it though!

What are they all going to play it on?

How much of the hardware do you honestly think is going to be readily available?

Thinking better, now I kind of undestand why Adam replies to every single tweet. Adam has been invited to playtest for years, he always replied to everyone who asked anything about the game, he's been doing this for years, h's used to it.

But now he needs to realize that he is on a completely different position, he can and should not respond to everyone, specially some trolls. And he really needs to stop acting as if he works for Konami for years and he is so directly involved with PES 2014 development, this is not the case.

Wise words.

few of you got into adam, but that guy scott is also an idiot.

he didn't see acutal screenshots than those few low res we got today and he's judging the whole game's graphics and licences based on those few pics.

i could not care less about graphics if we get decent gameplay!

Apart from the picture of the ball, every screen contained a licensed asset.

Seems like you got some 'first world problems' Rad :P

I can understand you being slightly upset but I am surprised at the fact your rushing to get the newest console's so soon, especially when as you pointed out the PS3 is in a healthy position with games, GTA5 is a current gen game, as is GT6 and so are yearly titles like PES and WWE which are games im interested in which makes it an easy decision for me to wait a year for all of these before needing to upgrade because normally the lack of library available on a launch console as well as the prices and latest software being extortionate with both likely to come down along with the yearly franchises like PES and WWE moving onto the newer platforms.

Konami have said the new engine is 'scalable' so its not been build with just current gen in mind, im sure there already working on PES15 too.

I wonder if PES is going to be 1080p on PS3 this year? I'm sick of it being 720p and the framerate being total crap. Games like uncharted run amazingly with stunning graphics in 1080p on ps3. Konami have no excuses now.

They have no excuses to not have rain & snow missing anymore (rain isnt visible on camera angles now, only on cutscenes, which is ridiculous)

Ribery in 1080p on the new engine, bloody scary thought :o

That's poor form. He's got to be more professional than that now he's working in an official capacity with Konami.

Imbeciles will never be in short supply on Twitter. Rise above it.

Unfortunately even high profile celebs, sportspeople get themselves into trouble by replying rather than blocking these idiots. I can understand them getting under Adam's skin but he does indeed need to ignore them for his own benefit.

I loved the sound of the press release and thought the lighting in the Bayern entrance screenshot was very natural.

If visuals are only slightly improved but the gameplay freedom has really opened up then I'll still be a happy man. Being able to control the ball in more ways and set up shooting opportunities with different touches coupled with better animations (hopefully extending to natural looking goalkeeper animations) is enough to make my ears prick up with attention.

If the ball also moves through the air with extra realism I'll be very impressed. Bring on the gameplay vids!

p.s. What's peoples take on the "bespoke animations"? While I assume it means the contact will drive the animation, does it mean there is a larger base of animations to draw upon, or that the engine will make up the animation on the spot?

Oh ffs i cant believe some people Look at that cover if that's in game and it control's as it looks u know wat i cant even be arsed Pro Evo 14 will defend itself.

Big +1 to konami

I just consider it as more contact animation compared to last year.. Just as simple as that.

However, based on images shown. we'll at least have :

1. Different default ball.
2. Better crowd making that team flags, smokes..
3. Better lighting
4. More varied face expression
5. Different player model, which i THINK to support the animation output, flows
6. Released for current gen consoles, pc.. get over it PS4 and xbox one fans :P. even MGS V will only be released for current consoles at the moment.

Anyway,

Team Play: Via the new game’s innovative Combination Play users can set up a variety of different tactics in key areas of the pitch using three or more players. These players will make very different off-the-ball runs to exploit holes in the defence or midfield, using the flanks, curved runs, or overlapping play to make themselves available. These moves can be preset to key areas of the field, allowing users to exploit defensive weaknesses beforehand.

Now we can adjust to how our players run off the ball. Good stuff. I'd love to see how it is implemented

I remember one of pesgaming.com member cried out loud for this type of strategy/tactics to be implemented in a football game. Yet, many people seems to understate it/him. Now, look what we are going to have :))

Now, i want to see goal keeper animations.. Kei Matsuda lies to me for PES 2013. :TTTH:

Me and you man

Hopefully they will implement logical team strategies to exploit the team play function. e.g. default tactics/gamestyles are accurate for the big teams at least and easily editable for the rest.

Things I will be looking out for are:
- much improved goalkeeper animations and smoother all round animations
- when you beat a player with a drop of the shoulder, dribble or sprint, he can't be on you right away like a shadow.
- more freedom/outcomes/variety in ball trajectories for crossing and shooting...and passes in the air. Whether they be short chips or long balls.

I hope they get the balance right between user input and player stats...and less rails.

I'm positive because of the new engine but some video footage is what we need to really whet the appetite :)

Visually, PES 2013 already looked good on medium cam - problem was that I couldn't adjust the zoom to go further out. If I could, and the framerate was smoother, it would have looked brilliant, IMO.
