Kinda pissed there won't be a next gen version. I also reckon screenshots will be of the PC version. Also, Adam seems to be arguing on twitter saying Konami don't have the money to build two engines, one for next gen until the demand is there. But isn't the point of this new engine that it's scaleable and capable of going cross format? Why not just do a PS4 version to the same standard as the PC one? His argument isn't making sense.

I don't think that was what he was alluding to, its just a response to someone.

The engine is scalable but Konami are focusing on current gen because of the installed base, the press release also specifically mentions Latin America and Asia.

To be honest given what Konami has said in the past about the engine I'm surprised (and disappointed) that there is no next gen version but I do understand their reasons.

Gutted at no next gen. They've been saying for years they're working on a new fox engine and then it turns out its for current gen. So what happens next year? A port of this game that they apparently couldn't do now?

Is my money not good enough for them anymore?

Nope no port. They could've done that now but they didn't.

says the guy with foxengine logo :D

cmon it looks better than 13 ofcourse much detailed much lively even on pictures, im sure the animations and lighting during game and smoke and other effects maybe camera flasshes will make it even better, fingers crossed for better commentary and better chants and the atmosphere is 5/5

The lighting in Pes 2014 is superb yea? In Pes 2010 lighiting was supeb too. What is the difference? Cmon

Think it looks better than 2010. Having that in addition to improvements in all areas in the one game is actually massive. The last engine was somehow restrictive for them. With fox engine they can have all playing on current-gen consoles.

Regarding next-gen, why aren't people moaning about GTA V or The Last of Us? Nothing wrong with releasing on current-gen as long as it looks and plays really well like these 2 mentioned great games.

I'm quite happy they're releasing a good looking/playing game on my current-gen console. Don't have to fork out money for next-gen console now.

Just found something interesting.
Just a question, will PC version have parity with ps3/xbox360 or ps4/xbox1 ?

looking at this i noticed two things

A bit exaggerated face expressions on Neymar and Lahm
Night lighting makes the game look washed out. Look at the daytime shots, they are far more detailed.

Anyway if they lowered somewhow details on textures but greatly enhanced animations, i'm ok with that.

the gta comparisons are so off-base. pes is a yearly franchise with a direct competitor, by not releasing nextgen they are handing the sales, foothold and mindshare of nextgen over to fifa.

and releasing a nextgen game doesnt mean you have to fork out money for it. not sure what relevance that comment has

No.... Comment.

Oh for crying out loud, I was merely saying that because, Fox Engine or not, I highly doubt they'll make the PC version hugely different to the console versions, simply because they never do, and certainly not this early in the engine's life cycle. Yes, if they wanted, they could take full advantage of the PC tech and make it look miles better thsn next gen consoles but I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening. Which was my point all along. So making an equal PS4 version isn't unreasonable and not an attack on PC's.

Geez.

People who say these screens are the same as pes 2013 must have a bad eye for detail. And I don't get the complaining on small graphical details. As for me I could even go with ps2 graphics as long as the gameplay is stunning. On ps2 you could at least see who had his shirt tucked in or not during gameplay.

You could say exactly the same thing about making an equal PC version of Fifa 14 PS4... it would be just as 'reasonable'.

But I'm not getting into that here.

Sure, if I buy the game for £3. If I shell out though, I expect fantastic graphics and gameplay in this day and age.

It doesn't look great? How good do you want it to look? We're not quite at full photorealism yet you know, not even with the 'NG' consoles...

No it doesnt look great I am repeating it again It doesnt look great on these pictures, It looks good

The advantage of Fox Engine is that is an engine that it's capable to adapt in any device by removing or putting properties depending on the console.

Obviously for current gent there's a lot of things that we will no see yet.

And please guys just wait for the gameplay footage and demo. And then you can moan all that you want.
I'm not saying it can't be a good game. It's just that I wish it was on next gen too. I don't see the point in hyping a new engine and then turning round to the fans and saying 'we could have given you what you wanted but instead were going to focus on current gen and ignore those gagging for a next gen experience.

Plus they're focusing on a market that already buys their games. It stinks of no ambition.

My only option for next gen now is FIFA, so if I buy that and love it, or just 'like' it. im hoing to gave friends with fifa too and the cycle if wanting to own the same games to play together repeats.
I'd be far less likely to even think about trying pes when they finally join next gen let alone the task of trying to convince my friends to check it out too and not bother with FIFA.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black...

I have no idea what your referring to but kindly cut it with the personal digs.

I'm surprised at some of the negativity towards the decision to release PES2014 solely on current-gen platforms. There is no precedent for Konami releasing PES on a brand new console.

PES5 didn't hit the Xbox360 in 2005 - we had to wait another year for PES6 to be the first 'next-gen' PES, and a further year for the PS3 debut with PES2008.

If I recall correctly, PES1 came a year after the launch of the PS2.

As others have said, it makes good business sense to hold back from the XBOne/PS4 until the install base is big enough to make development worthwhile for these platforms. Also you should remember that PES has a big following in developing countries where people aren't going to be buying new consoles for a long time.

For me I'm not too bothered about having to wait another year. If PES2014 brings better gameplay and improved animations then I'm happy with that. On the PC it already looks stunning at 1080p, 60fps - these two things are the missing pieces of the puzzle.

Well... I said pretty much exactly the same thing about Fifa 14 PC/PS4... but we won't get into that here. At least I'm not going to; unlike what I was talking about in the Fifa thread, here it would be rather
:OT:

Think of this as a stepping stone of what the Fox Engine can do on a current gen.

Sure there's no game play videos yet, but there is a big difference in the quality of the graphics (I play both PC modded + normal PS3). But hopefully they have a solid foundation for the next generation releases when its time to go into that market. Its pointless going into it yet as there won't be anywhere near as much people having them than this gen.
