OK, smart arse. How many people who aren't Asian are going to play the Asian CL?

And to the other clown - no, it isn't just about the Premiership 'innit'. What it isn't about is some footballing backwater like Asia.

Don't.

It's all about perspective, wich depends on where you are born and where you live.

For us south american people, Libertdores has a fantastic history with many memorable matchs and finals, we've always dreamd about the day that we would have this kind of license on a big football franchise as PES, and PES always had our attention even more than Fifa here in South America, wich it seems to be not the case in Europe, hence why we are getting this attention from Konami, we deserved it.

From about a decade ago, we south americans couldn't care less about the Premier League, it was just as exotic (as you said) as the Ukranian League, in European scenario it was all about the Spanish or Italian League where our best south american idols (Ronaldo, Romário, Rivaldo, Caniggia and etc) used to play. We never cared about any big english club, we didn't know much about them in comparison to clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter, Milan and etc, so the english was very exotic and uninteresting for us in a recent past. Just because we didn't hear much about the English League does that mean that it was a bad league that didn't deserve our attention ? I don't think so.

:))
My friend was in Japan to see my favorite team Arsenal in Asia tour, and he said that everybody around him only knows Miyaichi from Arsenal, they didn't know any other Arsenal players so they can't really shout other names other than "Miyaichi". So i agree, it's about perspective.
Most of us outside of Europe don't care about smaller European leagues and teams as much as most Europeans don't care about South American or Asian teams.

Can't really compare to global leagues and teams like Madrid, Barca, or United. But just look at above example, Many Japanese don't really know teams like Arsenal (and Arsenal is a top tier English club).

i wonder when football games will move wholly away from ps2 d-pad mechanics and fully embrace the analogue stick (for 360 movement and depth of movement -- very important)

My order of preference which leagues im keen to try out this version is
1.la liga
2. Brazilian
3. Argentinian
4. Epl
5. German league if its in the game
And
6 Italian

All the rest of the league no disrespect like the likes of Portugal Netherlands and France don't really care I don't rate those leagues. Also no disrespect to Europe there's only 3 leagues worth watching for me. Konami have done the right thing to broaden the leagues from other regions.

I disagree. England is the home of football. Until Konami doesn't Include the top 9 tiers of England with exclusive license, they should not focus on anything else.

That´s the most stupid thing that i read in this thread so far, congratulations for being the biggest clown in the forum, it´s not easy to accomplish such a thing! :WORSHIP:

When console controller get rid of the d-pad entirely, that time football games will get rid the d-pad mechanics.

Maybe you lot will think i'm a crazy one but i play PES with keyboard in my laptop, Lol. And i don't want it to be removed unless a controller with analogue sticks come when people buy a PC set(not a separated buy, kinda like a mouse which should naturally come to you when you buy any PC set).

I thought it was a sarcasm...

I just downloaded pes 13 demo on my laptop and played 3 games with keyboard. Its actually quite fun :D. Then tried xbox controller with d-pad and it feels normal, maybe I used to play with it in ps1 era? But I dont see what the big fuss of getting rid of this is about. If u dont play with it, then dont, if u do then do so. Some people complain about adam being a dictator, how ironic u want pes to suit u only and dont care about those who do play with d-pad :D

because it severely unbalances and limits gameplay. nothing dictatorial about wanting d-pad removed, its merely the evolution of gameplay in relation to technology.

theres a reason games like call of duty dont use the d-pad any more -- because its out-dated, redundant and restrictive. to have football games limited to 8 directions in this day and age is absurd

It's not like the companies get rid of 360 movement with analogue sticks even if they still utilize 8-direction d-pad.

They should develop movement control using a mouse, Lol. (Absurd? or great idea?)

because in those games the analogue stick does the same actions as the d-pad (stays limited to 8 directions). it's sharing a feature on 2 seperate buttons, whilst in pes when you switch from analogue to d-pad you lose 352 degrees of movement. big difference

absurd. consoles come with controllers.

(btw i should note im only talking about online play so a level playing is created -- i couldnt care about offline gameplays, konami can put all the options they want for offline)

I get ur point, but what am saying is will it be a problem if both where used? So for anyone who wants to play with d-pad their choice, if they are limited, their problem. Anyone else who doesnt want to be limited should go for analog stick. Having d-pad or analog options wont hurt no one will it? Maybe the company excert alot of their time in to programming the game for d-pads, but if they can and have time so be it.

yes.

analogue vs d-pad = 360 movement vs 8 movement = freer passing vs 8 directions passing = depth of movement vs no depth in movement

it is a fundamental gameplay balance problem.

I dont think u understand my point. I know d-pad restricts people. Am saying if someone wants to use it and its there as an option that YOU can neglect, whats the problem with having it for others to choose? If YOU dont want it dont use it. If someone else does, let them.

Bro i dont intend to start an arguement over a controller, so before it goes out of hand lets stop there.

No is not ! I don't have problem to play with D-pad and all this analog and 360 movement vs 8 movement is stupid talk . This NO Depth movement is even more ridiculous. I do not feel limited by D-pad and will no prevent me from kicking your ass no matter how much " movements " do you have, even if they are 720.

Game is out in what, less than 8 weeks now, and Konami are still keeping their cards firmly to their chest, hope they've got some great announcements up their sleeves. We can hope, come on :)

You don't understand what they're saying. The developers have to make the game in such a way that players using the d-pad can compete against players using analogue. It affects how the developers tell the game which player to pass to for both control methods, not just d-pad. It affects how Konami decide to balance shot aim. It affects cross aim. It has an impact to a great or small extent in several departments because Konami haven't been designing the game with analogue as the central focus and d-pad just sticky-taped onto the top of it; they've held analogue back to allow d-pad players to compete.

im loving this, being in limbo, no demo news or anything. Hope this feeling lasts forever & the game doesnt even come out.

Deleted a good number of useless posts.

That was going nowhere.

d-pad, analogue, choose whatever you want and enjoy playing the game whichever way you want as long as it's available to you.

No more mention of this.

Some of the posts were indeed a bit over the top (personal attacks, etc.)...

Anyway, I think the biggest problem about the control mechanics isn't the ability to use the d-pad or the analogue stick, it's just the ridiculous 0-1-2-3-4 bars of assistance in the game. That completely screws with the balance of the game online (and offline multiplayer, even the AI seems to pull off some ridiculous passes when you're playing on 0 bars).

The best thing for the future of PES, in my opinion, will be the implementation of only 1 but extremely well balanced control scheme, which is neither full manual (really important for PES, full manual destroys the individuality) nor as assisted as it is right now. They just have to make it work somehow; what we have now is utter, utter crap and it's one of the reasons why the online aspect sucks (well working online filters are always an option, but still...).

Balance is the key.
