Of course football is a global sport but fact is that Europen football is top on the top in the world in terms of teams, players, quality of stadiums etc. There are the famous teams in the world.

So what's the problem? Those famous European teams are already in the game?

I don't have problem with South American clubs in game ;) I'm happy. More leagues in Pes will always better ;) If Konami seriously want compete with EA in Europe they should invest money in small Europens leagues like Greek, Turkish, Polish, etc.

None of this, "My footballing continent is more important than your footballing continent" matters if the gameplay isn't any good this year. If the game is fun and addictive I'll play with any team of duffers from any country and try to turn it into the best team in the world:))

Basically, is he saying all Spanish teams are licensed? Excuse my ignorance in this matter.

Yh bro, including their stadiums if I remember correctly.

Ignorance is bliss.

I can tell you that recently in World Club Championships (until cash cows appeared in football) no European team beat South American one at their territory.

You are saying English/Spanish football is famous? Yes, it is. Because of HUGE money and sponsorship deals and lack of broadcast in PPV channels for other leagues outside Europe. Thus why Europeans know FUCK all about SA/J-League/Chinese football (the last one is going to be huge one day, mark my words).

I will play Copa Libertadores as it's fresh. Overused CL way too much in FIFA/PES. Playing same old shit gets boring you know. :)

About Polish league, please don't. The worst shit ever in a country with 38mln people... (yes, we cannot produce WORLD class players - Lewandowski is good, Blaszczykowski good, Piszczek great, but none, I will ever consider as World Class - ie in the same class as: Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu, Maldini, etc.)

That clown would be me and I believe I have correctly described your 'little Englander' perspective on football.

Open your eyes. Football is a global sport with a rich history and culture on every continent.

Asia is far from a footballing backwater. There are many great clubs in Japan, South Korea and Iran that draw huge, fanatical crowds. I for one am glad to see the three biggest confederations represented in PES - Europe, South America and Asia.

I admit reading this guy's posts is one of the reasons why I check this forum regularly. He's just class.

My post wasn't directed at you specifically but now that you've opened the door with the world "fact" I will say that your post about European football is wrong and you are confusing marketing with quality and popularity.

Those leagues would be nice additions, particularly the Turkish and Russian leagues which I believe are very much on the rise. We don't know if Konami have approached other European leagues about licencing, and as said before, it could be a case of these leagues valuing their product too highly.

Konami are most likely on a tight budget for licencing deals so perhaps they view the aquisition of South American leagues, the Copa Libertadores and the Asian Champions League as a better investment (bigger audience) compared to smaller European leagues?

PES series sell like crazy here in Greece for years but Konami cant put the Greek League into the game. Football manager sells like crazy too. This year FM2014 will have greek language for the first time. Sports interactive rewards greek customers. Konami doesnt...

+1 everything Jamez says.

I would love the SA league to be in there. I dont watch it as much as I do europe but owuld be genuinely excited at the prospect and I can promise you South African sales would rise. Without a doubt. Yoh yoh yoh Soweto Derby would absolutely be the 1st game I play.

To hell with the wash rinse repeat European teams we have been subjected to.

It also helps that the pool gets so much bigger for ML and MLO

The more the merrier

Agree, and also its pretty selfish to judge an annoucement like the Argentinian league included as not huge, it might be small for you, but its defintaly huge for argentinians(its the 1st time a football game will have their league officially) and also huge for plp who enjoy football outside of european, like me.

Plp have to realise someday that the world does not work around them. I bet lots of plp here would be trilled if Konami announced the championship as fully licensed, at the same time i could careless about it than Arg and Chi leagues.

And with regards to gameplay / leagues relation, really? does plp seriously belive that by konami adding more leagues the gameplay will be worst/better? c'mon those are 2 completly diferent areas of the game.

I disagree. England is the home of football. Until Konami doesn't Include the top 9 tiers of England with exclusive license, they should not focus on anything else.

The word deluded comes to mind when reading this comment.

The same in Poland. A lot people buy Pes but Konami not invest money for customers. In Pes 6 we had Polish version of the game with our commentary. On Tv were a lot advertisment. For 6 years we have only english version  without commentary too

My point about Copa Libertadores and Chilean league was that as nice as it is having all these exotic licenses, I won't play them if they game sucks.

When PES2011 came out, i did not think for 1 second that i'd play Copa, but because the game play was so refreshing the graphics were quite crisp that i delved into the mode and enjoyed it.

It's all about perspective, wich depends on where you are born and where you live.

For us south american people, Libertdores has a fantastic history with many memorable matchs and finals, we've always dreamd about the day that we would have this kind of license on a big football franchise as PES, and PES always had our attention even more than Fifa here in South America, wich it seems to be not the case in Europe, hence why we are getting this attention from Konami, we deserved it.

From about a decade ago, we south americans couldn't care less about the Premier League, it was just as exotic (as you said) as the Ukranian League, in European scenario it was all about the Spanish or Italian League where our best south american idols (Ronaldo, Romário, Rivaldo, Caniggia and etc) used to play. We never cared about any big english club, we didn't know much about them in comparison to clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter, Milan and etc, so the english was very exotic and uninteresting for us in a recent past. Just because we didn't hear much about the English League does that mean that it was a bad league that didn't deserve our attention ? I don't think so.

:))

Great post. It seems like you have the exact same perception but the other way around. EPL & La Liga are the exotic leagues for you

No one argues with that, but that doesn't make south american leagues irrelevant to not considering a license contract from Konami.

And English league is ridiculously overrated in terms of popularity/audiance when you consider the whole history. In South America we always gave almost exclusevily attention to Spanish and Italian League, English League was always second class to the world in the 90's for examplo, and it is just that big nowadays because of marketing. Our greatest idols from SA always played there (Italian or Spanish leagues), there were times (in a recent past) that we couldn't care less wich club won the Premier League, in the 90's we south americans would never ever stop doing anything to watch a match between english clubs instead of wathcing a Barca/RM/Inter/Milan match, unless there was a region match here being transmited live in the same time. :SMUG:

But now, yes, things have changed a lot.

It's easy to see why EPL might seem supermassive in comparision to other world leagues. But there's an entire world of football that doesn't give a damn about the vast majority of English clubs.

La liga no, but EPL used to be exotic in the past, now it's way more popular than it used to be in the past decades.

Why honestly who is going to play the Chilean league apart from people from chilie. I would be struggling to name more than one team university catholic and that only due to ranger buying zen rozenthal from them. I would much prefer less leagues if it means the game is actually half decent. High hopes again this year but its been a constant let down for the past 5 years.

I'd rather play the Chilean League than the Scottish Premier League

;)
