PES 2014 Discussion Thread

Fox Engine is much more than just a graphics engine, it's a complete game developing suite, but it was built with MGS in mind, where you only need basic collisions.

This was discussed when Fox Engine was first announced, that they'd have to modify the engine substencially to fit the needs of a sports game, where physics and gameplay mechanics are completely different from everything else.

They had three choices: Modify the built-in physics or create one from scratch, risking another shitty generation starter OR do the wise thing use one of the many fantastic 3rd party engines.

So yeah, massive decision and reassuring news.

60% build means: we haven't added teams, modes, kits, presentation etc which is 39%. the remaining 1% will be gameplay changes. Don't be fooled.

Makes you wonder f the FOX Engine was a gimmick or not. Why need HAVOK when Metal Gear uses the Fox engine which has a physics engine in it.

Another wonder. KONAMI not being honest again. HYPE HYPE HYPE.

My guess is, they do not want to repeat the mistake of EA who themselves tried to create a similar Реал tima phisics tool , because that FIFA filled youtube withf ails videos . Obviously want something tested, optimized and ... working.

had a dream last night game is at 90% code, GK are still dodgy but will definately be fixed after demo feedback & were fixed then jon murphy come to school with no trousers on & high heels & wanted to swap a rare shiny liverpool crest sticker that i needed to complete sticker book in exchange for a pen i didnt even want but i said no then i regret it & i couldnt find him

bolded part is very possible
the rest is your personal fantasy :P

I agree, if it's an early demo I'll just skip it and wait for the final version. If it's a late demo about two weeks before retail and containing final code I'll play it.

I don't see the point in playing an early demo.

Previous demo release dates...

PES 2013 - July 25 (Demo 1), Aug 28 (Demo 2)
PES 2012 - Aug 23
PES 2011 - Sept 15
PES 2010 - Sept 17

Again Fox engine includes a physics engine. Maybe not as good as the Havok one, but it does have a physics engine. Havok focusses more on physics, while the fox engine is an engine that includes more than just physics.

My point it this, why hype everyone with the FOX engine for graphics only? PES has always had good graphics. They are better now, for obvious reason. But don' t hype the game with a engine that is only going to be used for Gaphics. that doesn't make sense.

I am glad hey are investing their money into good engines, but the last 6 years have been utterly shit. KONAMI needs to deliver. and therefor they should bring out a good demo that showcases everything that is new and stop using this " percentage build" as an excuse.

For example: goalkeeping is still shit, that's why you don't see any goal attempts in the videos that were released. People say " no they want to show the physics". That is Bull!

I just want more transaparancy from KONAMI. With Adam joining their team, things have gotten even more vague. The answers he is giving are 1. half answered 2. "have confident and just wait for bigger news to come". That doesn't work for me. But allot of people are still falling for it. Not a rant here, just dissapointment.

Disappointed with what? You havent even played the game yet. When final product comes and then they dont deliver feel disappointed. But u getting angry over something u aint even tested is nonsense and utter bullshit.

You're borrowing misery mate. Wait to play at least the demo before getting disappointed:))

wow the ignorance. you make it sound as if you played the demo. as in: "I know the game is good but haven't played it". been hanging with Adam I Guess.

The hype with using the Fox engine is way more than just "graphics".
Kits getting dirty/ wet, animated audience and maybe day/night cycles in realtime.
Are you really sure you wish PES getting perfect?
Write what you like, you cannot destroy the hype :-)
PES 2014 will be something i was dreaming of since the first ISS no matter if it has small mistakes.
A dream Fifa could not deliver until now. ;-)

My friend am not stupid so I dont need to re-read what u wrote. U said that keepers are again rubbish and many other things u stated which made u angry. Then concluded that u r disappointed and I asked the simple question of "what are you disappointed with". We dont care what they use to make the game as we only play it thus leaving the only possiblity that u r disappointed with gameplay and I said wait for the game to come out and try. Maybe u need to stop crying cos thats what u r doing, not me, YOU!
