I think Konami were waiting for next seasons kits before doing the cover shoots. Obviously the actual cover won't have screenshots on the front.

Having both the licence for Bayern and the Champion's League and that Bayern won that comp and have appeared on the mock ups, it would be very strange if there was a single cover star or from an entirely different club lol

I think they're awaiting on where C Ron will end up before announcing.

Or for those that aren't interested in Bayern as a cover (if that is the cover), you can always buy Japanese version (Shinji Kagawa) or South American version (Santos or Neymar)

I'll give you a hint ;)

:P lol .. it was too small to see this in my iphone
sorry for that

The most recent playtest featured the 85% build of the game. 100 INTERNET points to whoever can find the latest impressions on PES14 and the quote that verifies this. Anyway, the demo will probably not be an earlier build than that one.

Demo will be 85.1% of final code and then final release will be 75.6% of that

i think this is the official cover for PES2014

If a Bayern Star is on the cover i surely buy it on steam :p

... oh no, wait, what's about the PS3 version?
Damn ;)

Is it just me that thinks Konami, being Konami, will probably sy 'not final artwork' and then in the end that will be the final artwork of the game? would be such a "Konami thing to do" :P

if Konami were smart, they'd have Robben lifting the champions league trophy as their box art... Got to put your best foot forward.

Do you guys often spend time looking at the case before playing the game? or do you intend to blue tac it to your wall like a poster?

;)

Given Konami's demo record the past couple of years, the demo will be 100% code and will play fantastic while the final release will feel like they scrapped everything and started over again.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. It's not "feedback gone wrong" or anything. Konami purposely make their game worse for retail, yep.

you never know with KONAMI, why did they remove league mode last year is still a mistery

Havok Technologies are used in many blockbusters such as:

Halo 4
Assassin's Creed 3
CoD: Black Ops 2
The Last of Us
Far Cry 3
Uncharted 3
Skyrim
MGR: Revengeance

Pretty nifty collection of games, don't you agree? ;)

well, it must be solid tech then!

sadly thats a very diverse list of games so the tech must be malleable, therefore i cant reasonably assume how successful it will be implemented into pes. looks like it adapts on a per game basis

Only explanation is drugs. Seriously. They had to be high when they had that particular game development epiphany and vision. That or too many late nights working with no sleep.

July 18, 2013 - San Francisco - Havok™, a leading provider of 3D interactive game development technology, today announced that it is working with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. to provide advanced physics, animation and cloth simulation technologies to deliver a true-to-life and graphically advanced soccer experience for all the players of Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2014, the highly-anticipated new entry in the 82.3-million-selling soccer franchise. - See more at: http://www.havok.com/news-and-press...i’s-pro-evolution-soccer#sthash.iBKm3tKZ.dpuf

So.. fox engine, havok.. confused

I think their main engine will be fox engine, so for graphics and probably some of the physics and havok will be used for cloth physics and interactions between players. Havok is used so that the same interaction between x and x does not happen the same all the time.

Possibly the most expensive PES to date? With all these new technology, engine and 3rd party software, plus new licensing deals, i think PES 2014 set to be the biggest PES ever.

along with the manpower to boot. quite often we've seen the illusive "pes 2014 has been in production for a several years" in different articles.

makes me wonder when they actually started to put their eggs into the 2014 basket, and makes me happy that they've taken their time over this iteration

Hey mate you forgot Demon's Souls. :SMUG:

fox is the graphics engine

Yup, the Fox Engine is only used for the graphics part of PES 2014, Fox Engine is just that - a graphics engine (like Unreal, Frostbite etc...)

To get the animation blending and collision detection you need something like Havok Physics Engine.

60% build means: we haven't added teams, modes, kits, presentation etc which is 39%. the remaining 1% will be gameplay changes. Don't be fooled.

Makes you wonder f the FOX Engine was a gimmick or not. Why need HAVOK when Metal Gear uses the Fox engine which has a physics engine in it.

Another wonder. KONAMI not being honest again. HYPE HYPE HYPE.

Sigh, Metal Gear Solid doesn't really require any fancy physics as it's not based on reality. Look at what happens when Snake runs into an enemy or a wall, nothing. Fox Engine is all about graphics really.

PES needs a lot more than just basic physics to compete with FIFA, therefore...

Fox Engine + Havok Engine = Fluidity Engine

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/411412/pes-2014-video-discusses-new-fluidity-tech/

"The segment below, which was broadcast earlier today during Konami's pre-E3 2013 presentation webcast, features PES creative producer Kei Masuda discussing the nitty-gritty details of the new 'Fluidity' engine powering this year's game.

Fluidity is an adapted version of Kojima Productions' Fox Engine, allowing for "the most comprehensive advance for the PES range since its inception", according to the Japanese publisher."
