Pretty obvious that PES 2 and PES 4 are the best ones. PES 4 one gave me goosebumps because it was about the upcoming Euro2004 :)

Another entry on the build-up checklist, PES intros.

PS@Kouroux: How can anyone dislike Queen?

Ah my friend, you just slightly twisted my words ;).
I said I'm not a fan of them, doesn't mean I dislike Queen. I believe there is a difference between the two notions.

Best rock band ever and one of the most varied. There are so many songs I've heard and didn't know the artist, only to find out they were by Queen. Had Freddie not died back in '91, Queen would still be kicking arse today.

I enjoy queens music a lot, but I don't listen to it regularly that's because I always feel that I'm intruding on another era of music by to old artists who are no longer active, I don't know if anyone else feels like that?

Sod that. Good music is good music; my MP3 has songs ranging from the Sixties all the way up to the present day. :) Music is meant to be enjoyed whether the artists are still around or not - would you not listen to Elvis? Or Sinatra?

I do listen to them, cause my mum loves putting her old stuff on through the record player and I can sit and listen for hours.. but I don't have it on my iPod for the reason I said, its just something I do :P

Sure they would :'(

By the way, it's singular that this discussion about Queen has just spread between yesterday and today: 11+12 july, like their 1986 Wembley show :)

The last few PES games play ok until you get into shooting range of the goal. The player reactions are very slow and everything feels too floaty. The goalkeeping animations have been horrible, and hitting the back of the net isn't satisfying. Scoring a goal is the best part of football and this should be replicated in PES. At the moment, it's way off.

Agreed - the shooting in PES 13 is easily the worst thing about it. In fact, the shooting is one of the main reasons I didn't bother buying the game.

In what way?!

Manual or assisted?

PES shooting (especially manual) is the best thing about the game.
Its stat based hinting that it isn't infact fully manual, there are also so many variations to the ball (fifa14 is copying so much of PES in this area)you can either go low driven, looped, straight forward piledriver or even nutmeg the keeper. Its contextual so the shot you get is dependent not only on the players stats but how he is positioned and how well it is timed.
"Manual" shooting is what PES used to be about hard to master but beautiful once you master it.
One thing though assisted shooting is a pisstake. You could hit the target far to regularly with average players.

I agree with zeemeister, shooting in PES 2013 is massively improved and is one of the better things about it.

The one criticism I could level at it is, anyone with 'kicking' (lol) power of less than 80 gets that 'lofty balloon' feel when shooting, when frankly that shouldn't be the case. These are all professional players, none of them are going to be lacking that much power in their shots.

An example would be Neymar. He did some very nice powerful shots in the Confederations Cup, yet if you tried to recreate that in game in Pes 2013 with his 75 shooting power, it would be impossible to do.
Especially that one with his left foot against Spain.

I think theres far too much gap between 85+ shot power and below 80. It should be a little closer but at the same time the more extreme could be recognised. Ex. Hulk etc.

I also would like more inaccuracies with long shots. Watch a top flight game, how many long shots are on target? In the game its pretty high percentage its going to be on target.

There definitely are improvements to be made. IIRC in the demo for Pes 2013 the shooting was fine, then it was changed in the final code.
Lets hope it is properly implemented in Pes 2014.

Someone says Pes 2013 shooting is the best, someone says is the worst
Where is the truth? If KONAMI had to take feedback from here they would be confused as hell

The following post sums up how I feel about PES 13's shooting:

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. The shooting in PES 2013 is best it's been since PES 6, but it's isn't great. It still doesn't have the appropriate animations, feel and satisfaction of the shooting in PES 3-6, which was one the the most addictive qualities of those games.

Exactly. Up until PES 2012, players in the game had a Shot Technique rating which, when edited and raised, eliminated those ridiculous sky balls. But Konami in their infinite wisdom removed that rating and for the past two years it's been impossible to edit the game to fix that particular issue. I didn't buy PES 2012 or 2013, and largely for that reason. Shooting is crap, period. And if they haven't fixed the shooting in PES 2014, I won't be buying that game either.

Sorry don't agree.

There is very little wrong with PES2013 shooting not the copy I play. Maybe I got the super delux version.

I remember having this discussion last year and made a video of ling range shots that took me a few days to compile.

Manual shooting has improved it substantially.

For examplke have any of you tried pushing the ball away from your body to create the space for a shot? Are you releasing R1 to get into position? Are you using triangle just before you shoot to get the ball to stay low? Or pressing R2 to curl it with the instep?

Neymars stats are inaccurate. That's not the shooting mechanisms fault.

From what previews and videos tell us I think it's pretty sure that animation and physics will be great in PES 2014, as well as graphics.

But there are imho still concerns regarding AI, no preview has mentioned anything substantial regarding AI. I hope that PES 2014 will also deliver a quantum-jump regarding AI as it probably will regarding animation/physics/graphics.

I think it's because few people have gotten to play it vs the AI

I'm more worried about certain gameplay aspects (like the awareness stuff, that if not completely fixed will completely break the game for me like it did for the past 2 years or so) than AI tbh. Of course that any hint of scripting will also be game breaking.
